What’s On Your List?

Welcome to a very special edition of Las Vegas Magazine! “The Sweet(s) Issue” is an all-encompassing look at that word and how it applies to Las Vegas. You’ll see in the following pages that it applies to almost everything the city offers. But for this particular editor’s note, it applies to dessert—specifically, the favorite desserts of the Las Vegas Magazine crew. We hope this list helps you get started in experiencing the “sweet” life while you’re here:

• Ken Miller, editor: “The lemon ricotta cookies at Giada at The Cromwell. No dessert has made my eyes roll up into my head quite like these beauties!”

• Kiko Miyasato, associate editor: “Emeril’s banana cream pie at Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian Resort. The best version of the pie I’ve ever tasted in my whole life. I order it for my meal with a cup of coffee. Chef’s kiss!”

• Nina King, managing editor: “The goat cheese baklava at BOA Steakhouse at The Venetian Resort. This is the perfect after-dinner bite—tangy, sweet, nutty. Truffles add unexpected verve.”

• Wes Gatbonton, art director: “Gordon Ramsay’s sticky toffee pudding at any of his Strip restaurants. I’ll eat dinner somewhere and go to any Gordon Ramsay restaurant just to have it for dessert. I don’t share; I can eat a whole one by myself!”

• Em Jurbala, associate editor: “The affogato at Carversteak at Resorts World Las Vegas. Every indulgent meal should end with two things: coffee and a sweet treat. This classic delight checks both of those boxes, featuring rich, hot espresso poured over creamy fior di latte gelato. It’s balanced and decadent without being too over the top.”

A Groundbreaking Culinary Event

Michelin-starred Indian restaurant makes its long-awaited debut on the Las Vegas Strip

When Gymkhana debuted at Aria in early December, the Strip welcomed something truly exciting: a globally recognized, two-Michelin-starred, Indian fine-dining destination. Straight from London’s Mayfair, Gymkhana brings classic Northern Indian cooking with bold flavors and rich, layered spicing. The design is inspired by elite social clubs, and the restaurant has the kind of culinary buzz that turns a meal into an event.

Founded by the Sethi siblings of JKS Restaurants, the London original earned its first Michelin star in 2014 and was elevated to two stars in 2024. For Las Vegas, executive chef Srikant Kumar leads the kitchen, offering signatures like tandoori masala lamb chops, chicken butter masala and venison biryani. For the first time, Gymkhana introduces beef to its menu, featuring wagyu keema naan, beef short rib pepper fry and an exclusive goan lobster curry created specifically for Las Vegas. A world-class Indian-inspired cocktail program rounds things out with drinks like the Maharaja Margarita and Patiala Peg.

Taking over the former Julian Serrano Tapas space, Gymkhana transforms the beloved space with a bold forest-green entrance, double doors leading into a mirrored foyer, and warm, clubby

interiors inspired by the Sethi family’s Pondicherry heritage. Jade green tones, polished dark timber and rich printed fabrics set the mood. It’s dramatic, luxurious and designed for a memorable evening in Vegas.

If the London menu is any indication, dessert should take center stage in planning your meal. London’s Gymkhana offers favorites like cardamom and basmati rice kheer. Served with figs, it’s a silky, gently spiced pudding in which the floral cardamom and tender basmati get a sweet, earthy lift from the fruit. It’s equal parts comfort and sophistication in a spoonful. The saffron pistachio kulfi falooda is a textbook Indian classic: dense saffron-infused kulfi, pistachios and delicate vermicelli noodles that deliver cooling richness with every bite. And then there’s gulab jamun, pictured, with gold leaf, the sweet, syrup-soaked fried dough balls topped with edible gold. Warm, indulgent and beautifully plated, it’s the kind of photogenic dessert that deserves to be pinned on your social media account.

With Gymkhana’s arrival, acclaimed Indian fine dining has finally stepped into the spotlight in Las Vegas. We are so excited for it. –Genevie Durano

Shop for the Very Best Gifts

From clothes to jewelry and accessories,

there are so many luscious options

Are you struggling with the perfect gift for your fashionforward friend or loved one, and don’t know where to go to get it? We think we have a few ideas for you, and they’re all pretty delectable.

First, check out the newly opened Prada boutique (pictured) in the piazza at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, with both men’s and women’s leather goods and ready-to-wear. Although you’ll find everything from trendy oversize bags to bucket hats, the Petit Sac Noir Mini Re-Nylon and Nappa leather bucket bag (prices vary) will undoubtedly be the favored gift of your friend’s holiday. The bag comes in a variety of colors and materials. Saffiano leather wallets and passport holders, from $895, may be a little easier to slip in a stocking, though.

For a gift that works equally well for men and women, consider the check scarf from Burberry at The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort, in varieties like cashmere, alpaca and wool (from $645) or a Burberry reversible alpaca wool logo scarf (from $375). Burberry’s scarfs are made in plenty of colors, so giving the perfect one is very doable. It’s a welcome gift, and warm as well.

For decades, a jewelry piece from Tiffany & Co. has been the way to a girl’s heart, and that hasn’t changed that much. At this store’s locations at FSLV—Fashion Show Las Vegas and The Shops at Crystals, find a gorgeous Tiffany T narrow wire bracelet in 18k gold ($2,400). You’ll find Tiffany & Co. outlets at several other locations on the Las Vegas Strip as well.

Also at The Shops at Crystals, book an appointment at Audemars Piguet to consider its high-end timepieces. The 150-year-old Swiss company is renowned for its attention to detail, with incredible movements, reflected today in selfwinding perpetual calendar pieces like the Royal Oak line, an iconic watch first seen in 1972. This is better for a loved one’s special gift, as you’ll undoubtedly want them to help make the choice. It is an investment, after all. –Nina King

So Easy on the Eyes

These sweet shops bring gorgeous visual design and rich flavor, too

They say you eat with your eyes, and in the case of sweet treats, that couldn’t be more true. Whether it’s the sleek, rich color of a slab of chocolate, the glorious colors of candy and gelato, or beautiful bakery items, you’ll satisfy both eyes and taste buds in Vegas.

If it is chocolate you need, head to Jean-Marie Auboine Chocolatier (4780 W. Harmon Ave. Ste. 1. 702.222.0535 ). Get a tour of the close-to-the-Strip gourmet chocolate maker on weekdays; the jewel-box colors of inventive candy and macarons are stunning.

At Bellagio Patisserie, just steps away from the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, the wow factor is the gorgeous, soaring chocolate fountain. You’ll find a range of house-made chocolates here, but also cookies, coffee, gelato (pictured) and more. Aria Patisserie is tucked at the back of that resort’s casino floor, but you can spot the custom cake and candy creations on display from far away.

For candy you know and love, visit Hershey’s Chocolate World at New York-New York, where more than 800 items are on display. The Reese’s corner

is my personal favorite, but the bake shop is a close second. Across the Strip at Showcase Mall is M&M’s Las Vegas, four levels of delicious fun with an M&M’s printer that lets you customize your haul.

Las Vegas has a lot of candy shops, but two brands to consider are I Love Sugar at The Linq Promenade, where you’ll find the Candy Martini Bar upstairs and an incredible array of sugary treats below, and IT’SUGAR at multiple locations, including The Venetian Resort and FSLV-Fashion Show Las Vegas, for your favorites. –Nina King

Setting the Sugary Standard

Celebrity pastry chef’s Las Vegas Strip outpost delivers baked delights aplenty

Some bakeries win you over slowly. Dominique Ansel Las Vegas doesn’t bother with that. You walk in, clock the pastry case and immediately know: This is the real deal.

Start with the Cronut, obviously. It’s famous for a reason: part croissant, part doughnut, entirely worth the hype (and the lines that formed when it debuted in New York City). Every month brings a new flavor exclusive to Las Vegas, which means there’s always something to bring you back. Right beside it sits Ansel’s other signature creation, the DKA (that’s the kouign amann for the uninitiated), with its caramelized edges that shatter and buttery layers that pull apart like edible silk. It’s the kind of pastry that makes you realize not all butter is created equal. Ansel only uses French butter, like Beurre d’Isigny, for its flexibility and moldability, owing to its higher fat and lower water content.

The viennoiserie is where Ansel’s French pedigree shines. Croissants are proper and perfect, crisp and golden and must be eaten in breathless, blissful bites. The mini madeleines, baked to order and served warm, are a small luxury you didn’t know you were missing.

There’s more to sigh over: The chocolate-covered strawberry sneaks Chambord mousse and rosé génoise under a dark chocolate shell. The cinnamon roll trades sticky-sweet for something gentler: cinnamon chiffon, apple compote and mascarpone mousse. And the gluten-free liège waffle? Impossibly light and airy, with caramelized pearl sugar in each bite.

What keeps you coming back to this brightly lit bakery is the sheer wonder of it all. You might walk in for the Cronut, but you’ll leave planning your next visit for everything else.

Ansel’s influence extends beyond the bakery, too. His cookbook, Everyone Can Bake, breaks down his techniques into something doable at home. I’ve been making his banana bread on repeat and am moving onto the sablés next for the holidays. Or maybe I’ll just pop into the Caesars Palace location instead. –Genevie Durano

A Delicious Destination

Award-winning restaurant excels at everything from decor to dessert

Visitors come to Las Vegas for a lot of reasons, and at Stubborn Seed, dessert is one of them. Since opening in February of this year at Resorts World Las Vegas, this Miami-born, Michelin-starred restaurant has quietly become one of the Strip’s most compelling stops for anyone who takes their sweets course seriously.

Helmed by Top Chef Season 13 winner Jeremy Ford, Stubborn Seed brings his signature precision and creativity out west. Ford, already acclaimed in Miami for his vegetable-forward, modern American tasting menus, partnered with

Grove Bay Hospitality Group to open this hot spot. The design is a love letter to his South Beach roots: lush greenery, art deco lines, a glass-fronted kitchen, ribbed-glass chandeliers and red leather seating, all bathed in warm light.

The dessert lineup is the final act worth staying for. The snickerdoodle cookie, paired with toasted barley ice cream, is playful and nostalgic yet unexpectedly sophisticated. The peanut butter candy bar layers decadent peanut butter mousse, caramel crémeux, fudge brownie and bright banana-passion fruit

sorbet. It’s a treat that’s downright joyful. For a more grown-up ending, the spiced crème brûlée brings together black mission figs, honeycomb coffee and pistachio praline. It’s crunchy, silky and warm in all the right ways.

After a tasting menu that ignites your senses, the dessert offerings are the confident closing act. Stubborn Seed is the kind of place where you linger … and eat just one more bite. – Genevie Durano

Tasty Tunes

You’ll find a variety of live music all over the Strip

Live music doesn’t just exist in the massive concert venues that speckle the tourism corridor; there are also some phenomenal lounge acts and intimate concerts all over the Strip.

Check out a newer venue, B-Side at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, on Dec. 18 to find Nashville-based indie duo Doublecamp, complementing mellow acoustic strumming with downtempo hip-hop beats and relatable lyrics. This cozy lounge makes a great place to spend a night out with

vibey lighting and a fabulous cocktail program but not too many people.

If soulful serenades are more your speed, head to the lounge outside Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club at MGM Grand on Friday or Saturday night to catch Ashley Fuller and The Collective. Fuller stuns with powerful pipes while the Collective infuses funk and fun all night long. We recommend enjoying this crew after having a laugh with comedians—including Garrett on Dec. 15-19.

For a wide range of sweet sounds, head to Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar, where rotating artists play. On Dec. 14, catch rising country artist Brian Thomas for a high-energy performance. Or stop in Dec. 19-20 and head to the club level to dance to beats by DJ Hollywood. Playing earlier in the evening, catch Sarah Jessica Rhodes performing country favorites with powerful vocals on Dec. 19 and country rocker Jimmie Romero on Dec. 20. –Em Jurbala

Make a Date

Take your sweetheart to one of the top lounges in Vegas

So you’re in town with your sweetie and you want to create that perfect romantic Las Vegas memory—we’re here to help! We know all the spots where you and yours can get all loved up, thanks to just the right combination of romantic ambience, delicious cocktails and that little something extra special.

Take the romance up high with lounges that sit at the tip-top of their property. Alle Lounge on 66 at Resorts World Las Vegas is a striking space reminiscent of a chic, modern New York penthouse with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the valley. Tons of sofas, club chairs and alcoves for more privacy allow for optimum seating, but we suggest snagging a spot right near the windows. There is also a small balcony to enjoy the night air. If it’s a lot of night air you want, take the date completely outdoors at the rooftop hot spot, Legacy Club at Circa Resort & Casino. The expansive patio is packed with firepits and sofas and striking views of downtown and beyond. What could be more romantic than cuddling up to your sweetie as the warmth from the fire helps heat things up?! For something special, book the Sunset Package that comes with a champagne toast as the sun sets.

Impress your boo when you reveal to them that you know where the Strip speakeasies are! Head to Aria’s Proper

Eats Food Hall, look for the Easy Donuts stall and ask a host if you can gain access to Easy’s Cocktail Lounge, hidden behind the donut shop. This intimate space has plush velvet sofas and walls, a small stage for live music, dark lighting and some of the most showstopping, interactive cocktails in the city. Even more intimate is another speakeasy, The Lock . Step into Horseshoe Las Vegas lounge Cabinet of Curiosities, and behind the giant safe

door you can pick up the phone and try to solve some riddles to gain access to the speakeasy. Some of the city’s top mixologists are whipping up personalized cocktails, and you can chill in an atmosphere reminiscent of the Prohibition era. (Pro tip: There’s a speakeasy within this speakeasy!)

Take your sweetie where the locals like to take their dates, the long-running Peppermill Restaurant & Lounge. This establishment has been operating for more than five decades and has been the scene for many a Hollywood movie and TV show, and while the restaurant is serving up large, delicious meals, you’ll want to head into the neon-lit, kitschy lounge. Take a seat at the bar, make it more private on one of the many sofas, or sit near the firepit with a cool water feature and order the famous 64-ounce Scorpion cocktail.

You can’t beat the atmosphere of The Wine Cellar at Rio Las Vegas. The underground lounge makes it feel like you and your date have been whisked away to the Italian countryside. The wine selection (after all, it is an actual wine cellar!) and charcuterie boards

are impressive, but the ambience here is unforgettable and romantic with a capital “R.”

Lastly, a small but mighty space, Rosina Cocktail Lounge at The Venetian Resort, perfectly balances romance and fun. When we say tiny, we

mean it, but the decor is divine and super-luxe. If you reserve a semi-private alcove, it’s the absolute perfect spot for date night. The champagne selection and specialty cocktail program are what also make this spot a top choice for romantics. –Kiko Miyasato

Shealagh Boyajian

Shining

the spotlight on this sweet and sexy showgirl

Believe it not, Shealagh Boyajian was painfully shy growing up. Now the beauty is onstage six nights a week, shining under the spotlight in Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease at Luxor as one of the featured dancers. “Being with Fantasy has helped build my confidence and my performance,” says the Boston native.

Boyajian moved to Las Vegas in 2019 to attend a professional dance school. Before she even graduated, her talents helped land her gigs in the industry. She

went on to dance in a couple different Strip shows, where she also added aerialist to her resume. But it was Fantasy that caught her eye when she first moved to town. “It was a dream to be a Fantasy girl; it is such an iconic Vegas thing,” she says. “And now here I am!”

Guests can catch Boyajian in almost every scene in the show, including the “Lose Control” number created especially for her, which spotlights her skills as an acrobat. “That’s the favorite part of my

job,” Boyajian says. “I love that at Fantasy we’re promoted as individuals. … Anita (Mann, the producer) alters the show to fit the girls and highlight our talents. She highlights your personality in the show.”

There is no shying away anymore for Boyajian—she shines bright and confident in the Strip’s longest-running topless show. “Fantasy has given me the opportunity to become the person I want to be. I get to embody who I want to be. I’m in fantasyland!” –Kiko Miyasato

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer at The Venetian Resort. 702.414.2337

Few venues on the Las Vegas Strip do milkshakes like this hot spot. For chocolate fans, this beast is dessert nirvana, made with mini chocolate chips and topped with two chocolate brownies, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. And, of course, the rim is frosted with chocolate!

If you’ve never tried gianduja chocolate, know this: It’s a super-decadent version with a high hazelnut content (think Nutella but even more hazelnut!). This confection has all the wonderful textures of the classic macaron, but with the inclusion of gianduja and French almond cookies.

Michelin-starred chef Jeremy Ford’s restaurant, one of the newest on the Strip, is an absolute must-visit for foodies, and that extends to every part of the menu. This dessert tastes as magnificent as it looks, a combination of olive oil cake, yuzu pastry cream, summer cherries, Mandarin pâté de fruit and caramelized pistachios. You probably won’t want to share.

Desserts don’t get simpler—or more delicious—than panna cotta, an Italian classic that gets bumped up a notch at Brezza. This version is infused with pumpkin and warm spices and topped with a drizzle of rich bourbon maple caramel. And best of all? Every bite gets a flavorful crunch, thanks to the inclusion of spiced pepitas.

One of the country’s favorite—and most tricky to make—desserts is the baked Alaska, and this version at Carversteak is a must for anyone on Instagram. This iteration is made with lemon sorbet, vanilla ice cream, toasted meringue and brown butter financier. It’s made for large groups and gets flambéed tableside. Get your cameras out!

Key lime pie has long been a favorite dessert for millions (it really is one of the most unique flavor profiles in the entire sweets universe), and this creation at Bazaar Mar reimagines the classic in an incredibly visually appealing way. It’s so simple (key lime mousse, graham cracker crumble and lime air), but upon taking that first bite, it’s also sublime.

the vacation of a lifetime with these adventures

Sweet, sick, tubular—whatever word you use to describe the most awesome things you can think of, we have plenty of it here in Vegas. From adrenaline-pumping adventures to otherworldly encounters, check out these excursions that will make your Vegas vacay totally outrageous, dude. To effectively plan a dope desert vacation, you’ve got to

scope out the whole city, and there’s no better way to do that than hop aboard one of Maverick Helicopters’ birds and soar high above the whole city and beyond. For a quick trip to check this adventure off the bucket list, book the Vegas Views flight, which lasts 12 to 15 minutes and provides panoramic views of the Strip and downtown. Or, if you’d like

a story to tell, book the Neon & Nature tour at sunset to fly over the Strip and to Red Rock Canyon just in time to toast champagne as you take in the Mojave’s sherbet skies.

Find another boast-worthy vantage point at High Roller at The Linq Promenade. Being able to say you’ve ridden the tallest observation wheel in North America is cool enough (550 feet), but you can tell your friend

the experience was absolutely lit when you book a Happy Half Hour ride, which includes an open bar for one full 30-minute rotation of the wheel.

Now that you’ve seen some fire views, head on over to The Range 702 for a different kind of fire. This shooting range has high-powered handhelds that will wow experts and beginners alike. For a totally radical time,

book the Area 51 experience and use a modified Glock, AK-V9 and MP5 to slay alien enemies and save the city from invasion. If you’re out to fire a gun you don’t have at home, book the Quadzilla experience to fire 80 rounds from a pintle-mounted multibarrel machine gun that’s capable of firing 1,400 rounds per minute. Speaking of aliens, head to the otherworldly AREA15 on Dec. 20 at 10:30 p.m. for Oddyssey Noir, a rave experience that combines high-energy dance music with bizarre roaming performers and other unexpected wonders. For the daytime explorers, consider an AREA15 Experience Pass, which grants access to a variety of rides, games, activities and installations to maximize value in your visit. Consider

heading to the newly opened Zone 2 of AREA15 to check out Universal Horror Unleashed, a haunting experience that offers four über-legit haunted houses, thematic food and bev, and live entertainment.

Time at the aquarium is already a wicked way to spend the day, but at Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, visitors can book exclusive opportunities to feed sea turtles or sharks as an addition to their entry. Think about how jelly your friends will be when they heard you got to go above the 1.3-million-gallon shark tank on the Strip and have a close encounter with its residents. Or if you’re here with someone you’d like to propose to, consider one of the raddest ways to pop the question—with an underwater surprise in the reef!

Feel like a true high roller at Westgate Las Vegas

It’s pink. It’s posh. It’s Playboy. It’s totally cute and sweet. The Lucky Bunny Suite at Westgate Las Vegas is part of the property’s themed fantasy suites, but this one stands out for its star power, too. It was curated in collaboration with Playboy Playmate, actress and model Sandi Taylor (pictured).

“For me, the Lucky Bunny Suite is more than a luxurious escape— it’s a mood, a moment and a celebration of confidence and playfulness,” Taylor said in a news release. “I wanted to design a space where guests could feel sexy, empowered and totally at ease. Whether you’re toasting to the night ahead, slipping into a bubble bath with a view or simply soaking in the suite’s flirty energy, every detail is meant to delight and surprise.”

With 1,611 square feet of opulence, the gorgeous touches throughout the room are everywhere. From the lounge and living areas to the dining room and bar area, huge bedroom and spacious bathroom with walk-in wardrobe, you’ll feel every bit the special guest.

“The Lucky Bunny Suite is a perfect example of what makes Westgate Las Vegas so special,” Cami Christensen, president and general manager of Westgate Las Vegas, said in a release. “Las Vegas is a city built on fantasy and indulgence, and this suite delivers just that—a fun, glamorous, and totally unique stay experience. We are thrilled to collaborate with Sandi Taylor to bring this vision to life and can’t wait to welcome guests into this one-of-a-kind escape.”

Take the party outside to the suite’s 235-square-foot private balcony with seating. Near the balcony, you’ll find a comfortable dining area with seating for six and a wet bar lined with wine bottles filled with pink sand and bar-top seating. There are two living spaces, one more formal with pink paisley cushioning on Victorian-inspired sofas and a beautiful crystal chandelier. The more chill living space has a flatscreen TV, pink fluffy sofa you melt right into and a cute piece of artwork showing fluffy white bunnies bouncing up and down.

Photo

Artwork throughout the space includes vintage Playboy magazine covers from several decades and sexy snapshots of Taylor, which lends a personal touch to the suite she helped design.

The sizable bedroom is a practice in sweet, feminine luxury with a deep soaking tub that looks onto the Strip, including a great shot of the Sphere through the large window. The bathroom has two vanities, walk-in closet and seating area. Design touches throughout the room include crystal chandeliers and sconces, pink drapery, a deep green velvet-tufted headboard and babypink painted walls.

Gorgeous, delicious cocktails with a sugary touch

Sugar and spirits—sounds so nice … some even have a li’l spice! We’ve rounded up some sweet-tasting cocktails, some more like desserts, including the Sinful City (perfect for chocoholics!) and the Orange Dream (tastes like a Creamsicle!). Some have a unique ingredient that balances the saccharine, like the Lavender

Basil Lemon Drop (that basil-sugar rim, chef’s kiss!), the Belle Notte (freshly brewed espresso!) and the tropical sugar rush of the Vice & Virtue (delish strawberries mixed with a piña colada foam!). Go get your sweet on and take a flavor adventure by ordering five of our fave libations, which are sure to satisfy that (adult) sweet tooth.
