Excitement to Spare

There are few more exciting weeks to be in Vegas than during National Finals Rodeo. For 10 days, Thomas & Mack Center becomes the epicenter of the rodeo world, with the best in the sport competing in everything from bull riding to steer wrestling. But what really puts this event over the top is the tremendous amount of musical talent it brings to Southern Nevada, not to mention all the ancillary parties, specials and so much more.

Consider this week’s issue of Las Vegas Magazine your unofficial guide to getting the maximum amount of fun out of NFR week.

Looking for some live country music this week? It doesn’t get much better than Tim McGraw, who brings his huge catalog to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (“Hat, Heart & Hits,” p. 34). But that’s only the beginning of the amazing artists you can enjoy this week. We’ve rounded up some of the best of the rest, along with themed parties, (“Saddle Up!” p. 36 ). Speaking of parties, wait until you see the NFR-related lineup awaiting you at downtown hot spot Circa Resort & Casino (“Life Is a Rodeo,” p. 32).

Get an amazing array of dishes in this gourmet food court

It’s that time of the year when a warm lunch or dinner wouldn’t go amiss, and at Famous Foods Street Eats in Resorts World Las Vegas, you will find tons of options with global flavors that are sure to satisfy. (Hours and days vary.)

For a steaming bowl of pho, head to Famous Pho, where you can get rare beef, fatty brisket or a third that combines both plus beef ball, with rice noodles and sides of Thai basil and bean sprouts. Other great bowls come from Geylang Claypot Rice, with chicken, beef and mushroom (perfect for vegetarians) options; Harajuku Ramen, with tonkatsu broth, chashu (pork belly), scallions, corn, wood-ear mushrooms, butter, nori and nitamago (boiled egg). You can also build a bowl with any of those ingredients or add on more.

Wu Zhang Artisan Noodles gives you the choice of either thin noodles with minced pork gravy or wide noodles with braised beef; and Kura Kura Pa features teriyaki bowls with beef, chicken, shrimp and salmon. You can get a side of kimchi for a little extra spice. And Googgleman uses charcoal-fired stoves to achieve a little smoky flavor on the noodles

fried with a combo of ingredients from Chinese sausage to crispy pork.

If you aren’t in the mood for a hot bowl, try a piled-high burger from Burger Barn; barbecue brisket, ribs, pulled pork or burnt ends, plus smoked Gouda mac and cheese from Blood Bros Texas Barbecue; street tacos from Michos Tacos in grilled chicken, carne asada, el pastor or lengua; fish and chips from Han’s; gyros and falafels from Yaya’s; and Nashville-style hot chicken from Streetbird.

And if you don’t want hot food at all, you’ll find sushi at Nori Bar and salad options at Salad Jack’s. You’ll find beverages to accompany your meal at each kiosk, and at Tiger Sugar, which showcases its renowned Black Sugar Boba. Center Bar has a cool self-pour and automated beer system to explore.

Yule Love It

Celebrate the holidays with this legendary entertainer

For over half a century, Barry Manilow been the man behind the moments: love songs, heartbreak ballads, that drama-filled night at the Copa with Rico and Lola.

This December, he gifts us once more with A Very Barry Christmas, a show that’s equal parts concert, celebration and a spin through pop music’s most memorable hits. Fanilows flock to the International Theater at Westgate Las Vegas for a dose of comfort and joy, Barry-style.

The production is a snow globe of sentiment and showmanship: glittering lights, lush arrangements and that voice, still soaring through the room, still hitting those high notes. Manilow weaves his classics with holiday standards, turning “White Christmas” into a slow-burn emotional power ballad. No matter who you are—bah humbugs included—it hits you straight in the heart.

Along with holiday classics (expect a rockin’ “Jingle Bell Rock” and perhaps a mention of a certain red-nosed reindeer), the beloved Manilow hits are there. When the audience stands for “Weekend in New England,” half are mouthing the words through tears. In between, there are anecdotes from an extraordinary life and career.

When asked why he keeps doing it, Manilow simply says, “It’s a holiday party where we get to laugh, sing and celebrate together.” And that’s

exactly what it feels like: equal parts nostalgia and community. Whether you’re there for “Mandy,” “Can’t Smile Without You” or that inevitable conga line during “Copacabana,” the real moment is the connection. You can feel it before the curtain even rises. The air buzzes with anticipation, sequins sparkle under the lobby lights and the preshow chatter sounds like a family reunion in full swing. The earnestness and lack of irony are downright refreshing. They’re here for the big choruses and even bigger feelings. And yes, behind the songs, there’s heart. A Very Barry Christmas continues its partnership with Las Vegas Toys for Tots, inviting fans to bring new, unwrapped toys for local children. It’s the perfect reflection of Manilow’s whole deal: generosity, gratitude and music that brings people together.

That’s why A Very Barry Christmas is a show like no other. Manilow performs like that Brooklyn boy who can’t believe this is his life, amazed that the crowd keeps showing up, humbled that they know every word. His ongoing residency, Manilow: Las Vegas—The Hits Come Home!, packs the Westgate theater year-round. He writes the songs. We still sing them. Manilow is the gift that keeps on giving. –Genevie Durano

Carrying the Torch

Country star brings ’90s influences to the Strip

The 1990s were a great decade for country music. George Strait released four straight chart-topping albums, the legacy of Keith Whitley, who passed in 1989, thrived with posthumous releases that produced No. 1 hits, and Randy Travis enjoyed possibly the most fruitful period of his career. (He was so big that he was the first country artist to play the MGM Grand when it opened in 1993!) All three artists had a profound effect on country artist Zach Top, who paid tribute to their influence in his debut single, “Sounds Like the Radio,” in 2024.

That single alone has catapulted Top to the, well, top in a very short time. (Fifty-five radio stations added it to their rotation upon impact, making it the most-added song at the format.) Debut album Cold Beer & Country Music followed a few months later, and Top just released his second album, Ain’t in It for My Health

One thing is for sure: If you were a fan of ’90s country music, this is the concert for you. Expect to feel the same vibes you felt upon hearing Strait’s “One Night at a Time,” Whitley’s “I’m Over You” and Travis’ “Whisper My Name.” Top wouldn’t have it any other way. –Ken Miller

Great Escapes

Las Vegas Strip attraction takes you all over the globe in a state-of-the-art way

If you’ve always wanted to take a helicopter flight but haven’t quite achieved that goal, we think FlyOver Las Vegas might be tailor-made for you.

This combination of an amusement ride, a movie and a simulated helicopter flight makes for an experience that may leave you breathless. In Las Vegas, you have your choice of four shows: Wonders of the American West; Believe Chicago; Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies; and Legendary Iceland: Landscapes and Lore, each with special features.

Each show begins in a room where you get your seat number and watch a short intro video. A recent showing of Legendary Iceland: Landscapes and Lore begins with a scene of a small, seemingly deserted cabin. Snowfall through a hole in the roof imparts calm and readiness for your adventure. Soon, you’ll head to a second chamber where a unique set of scenes play out. With Legendary Iceland, oceans, ice, lava and an elder troll (trolls are part of Icelandic folklore) tell the story of how Iceland emerged. It’s a captivating story that really gets you ready for the next step of the attraction.

After you head into the movie theater/ride portion, you’ll sit, belt in and get basic safety instructions. The screen stretches before you in a massive arc, and you’ll rise gently into the air before the lights dim. Then be amazed as ice floes and lava fields fill the screen and hikers, bikers, horses, fishermen and farmers trek through your field of vision. Swoop over immense fields of purple lupine and wend your way through canyons and ravines and past cascading waterfalls.

Glide over the ocean, examining rock formations and craggy islands. (Perhaps a troll caught by the dawning day?) The impressive sight of Hallgrímskirkja, the Lutheran church that is the second tallest-building in the capital of Reykjavik, is joined by fireworks. All along the way, you’ll feel the mists kissing your skin.

FlyOver Las Vegas is located center Strip in the Showcase Mall. Get your tickets inside the expansive lobby (or online), then grab a drink or snack while you wait for the magic to begin! –Nina King

Light It Up, Again!

Downtown hotel sign gets a second life at famed attraction

The Neon Museum shines brighter, now that the 30th illuminated piece was recently added to the Neon Boneyard. The El Cortez—Las Vegas’ longest continuously operating casino, owned by the Epstein family—recently donated its historic “Prime Rib $19.95” neon sign, originally installed on the facade of the property’s parking garage in 1974. Twenty-two signs already within the boneyard needed to be moved to accommodate the 18-foot-by-24-foot sign that features neon, lightbulbs and backlit plexiglass.

Those who want to check out the property, less than a mile from the museum, can still see its original 1940s facade (the property opened in 1941) and the neon signage that was added in 1952.

“It’s such an honor for my family and my El Cortez family,” said Alex Epstein at the recent lighting ceremony at The Neon Museum. “Personally, as a founding member of The Neon Museum it’s such an exciting thing. I’m filled with immense pride with how far The Neon Museum has come and what a success it has become.

… And now, for the El Cortez to have a large, physical soon-to-be-shining place among these many iconic pieces of Las Vegas history is incredibly special.”

Besides the El Cortez sign, guests can tour the Neon Boneyard’s signage from past iconic hotels like Sahara, Dunes, Riveria, Stardust and Moulin Rouge, as well as many more pieces from Las Vegas’ storied history. –Kiko Miyasato

Marketing manager celebrates the rodeo

Say hello to “Cowboy Kevin”! With National Finals Rodeo continuing this week, Kevin Kenny, marketing manager for Rio Las Vegas, really gets into the lifestyle. It’s not a front—Kenny comes from the rodeo lifestyle in Montana.

“I’ve taken touch points from that (lifestyle) and brought it to Las Vegas,” Kenny says. “I think I was able to adapt and make it a true rodeo experience for rodeo fans.” He’s talking about Rio Round-Up, the fully immersive NFR experience that

takes over the property’s Masquerade Village throughout the rodeo. The experience is Kenny’s baby; he launched the event last year and is bringing it back this year—bigger and badder than ever.

Kenny joined the property in 2023, but before that he handled the NFR experiences at MGM Resorts International, and before that he built up his marketing skills at various firms in the city. “The favorite part of marketing is storytelling,” he says. “I’m creative by nature. So being able to

build something from an idea or thought and making it come to life and showcase it to the world, I love doing.”

And the Rio Round-Up is part of that creativity that Kenny has brought to his position. As soon as the weather turns, he puts his cowboy boots and badge on and is known on-property as Cowboy Kevin. “I saw the potential and wanted to build out a whole experience for NFR guests. In one year, we broke the mold and created something next level.” –Kiko Miyasato

Delicious dishes accent the many years Ruth’s Chris Steak House has thrilled diners By Nina King

One of the most revered steakhouse chains in the country has to be Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which has more than 100 locations all across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, including at Harrah’s Las Vegas. The brand itself stretches back to 1965, when New

Orleans businesswoman Ruth Fertel bought Chris’ Steak House (which had been open since 1927) and adjusted the name. In 2013, the restaurant opened at Harrah’s Las Vegas after a previous stint at Flamingo and has been creating memories ever since.

When you step into Harrah’s Las Vegas, you’re sure to start making a memory of your own as well. The second-floor restaurant is elegant, with large floor-to-ceiling windows letting you peek outside at the Strip. The drink menu is draped in delicious

Porterhouse steak

spirits, and an Old-Fashioned menu lets you choose from several inventive takes on the classic, like the Japanese Old-Fashioned, featuring Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky, simple syrup and orange bitters. If you prefer a mocktail, the Sunset Spritz is a lovely concoction with prickly pear purée, orange juice, lemon sour simple syrup, lemon-lime soda and pomegranate.

As befits a Southern-style steakhouse, you’ll find plenty of meaty options on the menu as well as seafood and sides. Although some folks are inclined to go straight to the mains, the other sections of the menu have many tidbits worth considering for your table,

like the barbecued shrimp, which are sautéed in white wine, butter, garlic and spices; broiled mushrooms stuffed with crab meat and topped with Romano cheese; crab cakes with lemon butter (you can get these in a larger portion if you’d like to enjoy as your entrée); lobster bisque; and Ruth’s chop salad, another great option as a main. It’s stuffed with julienned iceberg lettuce, baby spinach and about a thousand other good things, and topped with lemon-basil dressing.

Speaking of that entrée, you have so many choices! If you would like something besides beef, consider the lamb chops, three extra-thick chops

that have been marinated overnight. The stuffed chicken breast sports garlic-herb cheese and lemon butter, while Chilean sea bass is topped with a garlic-panko crust.

But you are probably here for one of those bad boys of beef, steaks! Ruth’s Chris Steak House has plenty; you might have a tough time deciding. For lighter appetites, there are several filets on the menu, from 4-ounce medallions (accompanied by jumbo shrimp) to a 16-ounce, specialty bone-in filet. There are variations on other cuts, with New York strips, T-bones, ribeyes, porterhouses and tomahawks, ranging in size from 16 to 40 ounces. Yes, you’ll be well fed.

Sides are plentiful as well; there are potatoes in many forms—au gratin, baked, garlic mashed and french fries, plus sweet potato casserole with pecan crust. Lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach, pan-roasted cremini mushrooms, fire-roasted corn, cauliflower au gratin and grilled asparagus with Hollandaise all make the list—be careful; order too many and there won’t be room for the steak on the table.

For dessert, indulge in the bread pudding, with vanilla and raisin flavors and a rich Jack Daniel’s whiskey sauce.

Enjoy plenty of NFR-related offerings at Circa Resort & Casino

Downtown Las Vegas is about to get a serious dose of cowboy spirit in a big way. Through Dec. 13, Circa Resort & Casino, The D, Golden Gate and the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center are all in for Wrangler National Finals Rodeo week. While the action at

Thomas & Mack Center runs through Dec. 13, Downtown’s NFR festivities kick off a day early and deliver nonstop western energy all week long. Staying at Circa puts you right in the epicenter of it all. The property is part of the NFR “Stay Your Way” package

Downtown Saloon

and sits on the NFR Express shuttle route, so you can ride between Circa and Thomas & Mack Center without stressing about parking or driving. But the real action might be right where you’re standing.

The daily rhythm starts at Vegas Vickie’s lounge, where things get delightfully western every afternoon from 4–5 p.m. It’s serving up “Bucks & Belles” cocktails made just for NFR, and every drink comes with a raffle ticket for a much-coveted Vegas Vickie x NFR jacket. And just because they can, bartenders will be handing out pink cowboy hats. When the sun sets, the party moves up—60 floors up, to

be exact. On Dec. 7 and again on Dec. 11–13, Circa’s Legacy Club rooftop lounge hosts its “Rooftop Rodeo” starting at 9 p.m., with handcrafted cocktails, live country music, dancing under the lights and a killer view of downtown.

For a genuine rodeo keepsake, swing by Circa’s Underhang Bar on Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., when NFR’s top steer wrestlers will be there signing autographs.

If you’re not going into Thomas & Mack Center but still want big-screen rodeo energy, the Downtown Saloon at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center has

you covered. Every night through Dec. 13, doors open at 5 p.m. for free NFR watch parties complete with massive LED screens, live music, a dance floor and food and drink specials. For something completely different and pretty wild, Dec. 11–13 features the Bullfighters Only (BFO) World Championship at the DLVEC. Think freestyle bullfighting, live music, a western vendor market and meet-and-greets with the bullfighters. The action kicks off at 1:30 p.m. daily.

Want to try your luck beyond the arena? Circa, The D and Golden Gate are running a “Buck Wild” Giveaway through Dec. 13. Play your favorite slots or table games, earn entries, and you might win NFR tickets, Boot Barn gift cards, NFR jackets or belt buckles. On Dec. 14, there’s a grand finale draw for a $3,000 Tractor Supply Co. gift card. You enter through the Club One desks at any of the three properties.

During NFR week, Downtown becomes the place where rooftop cocktails and rodeo culture ride off into the sunset. Circa and its neighbors strike just the right vibe: combining Vegas hospitality with genuine rodeo spirit.

Tim McGraw brings plenty of cowboy energy to Vegas

This December, Tim McGraw is heading back to Las Vegas, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. The three-time Grammy winner has several shows scheduled at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace during Wrangler National Finals Rodeo week, giving fans a chance to catch one of country music’s greats as the city leans into its cowboy energy.

The Vegas dates land at a moment when McGraw’s relationship with the rodeo world is deepening in real time. A longtime supporter of the sport, he recently helped bring the inaugural Music City Rodeo to Nashville, Tenn., a first for the city. When he debuted “King Rodeo” during his headlining set, he told the sold-out Bridgestone Arena crowd, “We’ve been working on a new record, and we thought that this song … was appropriate for the night.”

The heartfelt single drew raves and hinted at a new creative chapter that feels per-

8 p.m. Dec. 12-13, starting at $168.70 plus tax and fee. ticketmaster.com

fectly written for the performer and his fans. Now McGraw is bringing that momentum west, landing in Las Vegas just as the NFR crowds take over the Strip.

The upcoming shows promise a sweep through McGraw’s biggest hits, fan favorites and deep cuts from a career that spans more than three decades. And the Colosseum is just the kind of room that lets his storytelling land, a fitting match for an artist whose songs have been the soundtrack for a multigenerational group of country music fans.

McGraw’s influence is undeniable. His career includes more than 103 million records sold worldwide, 49 No. 1 singles and 19 No. 1 albums, placing him just behind George Strait for the most No. 1 country albums in U.S. history. He’s also part of a small club of artists who have scored a No. 1 album and single in four consecutive decades, a streak that says plenty about staying power in the music industry.

Some of McGraw’s biggest hits didn’t just reach the top; they parked there. “Live Like You Were Dying” held No. 1 for 10 weeks. His crossover collaboration with Nelly, “Over and Over,” stayed at the summit for 11. And the span

between his earliest and most recent No. 1 singles? More than 30 years, a testament to his consistency and ongoing connection with listeners.

McGraw’s resume onstage is just as expansive. He’s performed at the NFL Draft in Nashville, the Super Bowl LII Tailgate Party, the Nobel Peace Prize Awards, and the first-ever C2C: Country to Country Festival in London and Australia. His touring history includes sold-out stadiums, arenas and the celebrated Soul2Soul tours with Faith Hill, his wife of nearly three decades.

And while music is the core, McGraw is no one-trick pony. He starred opposite Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side, appeared in Friday Night Lights and The Shack, and contributed music to the Oscar-winning documentary Free Solo Most recently, he earned wide acclaim for his turn as James Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel 1883

Taken together, this December’s Vegas run is a well-timed celebration of where McGraw has been and where he’s heading next. And for rodeo fans already in town, it’s a perfectly timed pairing: a country mainstay bringing a little extra heat to a city already bucking with excitement.

There’s a whole lot of honkin’ and tonkin’ happening in Vegas this week

It’s everyone’s favorite time of year–rodeo season! And as the annual Wrangler National Finals Rodeo rolls into town, so does a ton of boot-scootin boogeying. Check out some of the finest entertainment happening all around town.

For years (perhaps even decades), Golden Nugget has been the mecca of country shows during NFR,

and this year is no different. Catch Ray Wylie Hubbard (Dec. 7), Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan (Dec. 8), Neal McCoy (Dec. 9), The Bellamy Brothers (Dec. 10-11), Larry Fleet (Dec. 12) and Jamey Johnson (Dec. 13). All shows begin at 10 p.m. in the showroom (ticketmaster.com).

Head to Westgate Las Vegas (westgateresorts. com) to find another hoedown hot spot with live music acts covering the

property, taking over the International Bar and the Cabaret Theater. If staying up late isn’t really your vibe, catch some 4 p.m. shows like Brad Johns in the International Bar (Dec. 9 and 12) or Brooke Baird (Dec. 11). Early birds can also catch afternoon shows from Clay Aery (Dec. 7), Spencer Brunson (Dec. 8 and 10) and Bailey Rae (Dec. 13).

Night owls will want to head to Westgate’s Cabaret Theater for Bart Crow (Dec.

10), Jarrod Morris (Dec. 12) and Giovannie and the Hired Guns (Dec. 13). All shows begin at 8:30 p.m. The International Bar features some late-night shows for the post-rodeo crowds as well. Highlights include Caden Gillard (10 p.m. Dec. 12), Seth Ward and the Silence (11:30 p.m. Dec. 11 and 13), and Jody Bartula and the Barflies (10 p.m. Dec. 11).

The Strip also sees some honky-tonk happenings with big name headliners like Tim McGraw playing the Colosseum at Caesars Palace (Dec. 12-13, ticketmaster.com) and Zac Brown Band playing Sphere (Dec. 12-13, ticketmaster. com). Riley Green plays

Resorts World Las Vegas (Dec. 12-13, axs.com), while Zach Top plays one night only at MGM Grand (Dec. 12, axs.com).

For a bit of a laugh, catch Jeff Foxworthy at Planet Hollywood (Dec. 10, ticketmaster. com), Steve Treviño at MGM Grand (Dec. 11-13, mgmgrand.mgmresorts. com) or Wayne Brady at The Venetian Resort (Dec. 12, venetianlasvegas.com). Watch parties and after parties also abound this week. Check out Gilley’s at Treasure Island (866.286.3809) for nightly NFR drink specials and an official watch party starting at 5 p.m. Expect live country rock music, $10 mechanical

bull rides and 2-for-1 draft beers.

Head to Mandalay Bay’s Cowboyville at the Rhythm & Riffs Lounge (mandalaybay.mgmresorts. com) for a nightly viewing party starting at 5:30 p.m. and plenty of live entertainment. This resort is also a shuttle stop for NFR, so if you have rodeo tickets, you can catch a ride to The Thomas & Mack Center and skip the hassle of driving yourself.

Nothing fills the cold winter months with warm merriment quite like song and dance. There’s something magical about each seasonal spectacle that pops up, and Leona Lewis’ A Starry Night at Voltaire inside The Venetian Resort is no exception. This residency masterfully combines stunning visuals, jazz and Motown influences, and personal touches to create a Christmas crowd-pleaser like none other.

The show opens with an adorable phone call from Coco, Lewis’ daughter, which really sets the show’s upbeat yet sentimental tone. Then Lewis uses her stunning voice to perform holiday classics like “Winter Wonderland” and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town.” Not only is the U.K. songstress a fabulous vocalist, but for this show she’s accompanied by a talented jazz band and backup singers.

Something that becomes apparent in the first few acts of the show is just how beautiful the stage design is and how it complements the show itself.

Lewis has gone vintage here with a velvety, ruched backdrop and some umbrella lights to diffuse a warm glow. It looks like something straight out of the Rat Pack era of Vegas, but with a bit of extra sparkle.

And the wardrobe! It’s only natural that an artist playing a venue with a center runway would have some breathtaking attire (and Lewis absolutely does), but what truly pulls the show together is the formal wear every musician on the stage dons. Dressed in black and white with details like bow ties and opera gloves, Lewis’ supporting crew makes the show feel so much more glamorous simply by being dressed for the occasion.

Of course, the star of the show has her own breathtaking fashion moments, including some fantastically voluminous opera gloves and a shimmering gown that cascades down from the hanging moon prop from which Lewis sings “Fly Me to the Moon.”

Soft serenades are just a fraction of the excitement this show has to offer.

Upbeat hits like “Mr Right” and “One More Sleep” infuse energy into this winter wonderland, and a phenomenal performance of chart-topping hit “Bleeding Love” will leave any die-hard Lewis fans speechless.

voltairelv.com

Not to mention, Voltaire is an incredibly intimate venue, leaving a lot of opportunity for crowd interaction, and Lewis absolutely takes advantage of that. Not only does she acknowledge fans from the stage, she moves through the room multiple times, essentially ensuring she’s within reach of every single audience member. She stops on occasion to sign an autograph or hold a young fan’s hand for a few verses. There’s even a moment where a lucky couple is invited to join the star onstage for a song, and a talented audience member is welcomed to sing or dance along as well.

Lewis’ A Starry Night is not only a quintessential Christmas show, it’s an uplifting, heartwarming spectacle that hits all the holiday feels. The singer pauses to tell the audience about how this time of year is the time to spread love and joy.

She is doing just that.

Some restaurants across the Las Vegas Strip have a secret: From steak and sushi to Italian and American,

the cuisines run the gamut, but what they all have in common is a cool factor—they each offer a hipster hidden

lounge where the art of cocktailing is thriving, and the ambience and décor is wonderfully bougie. Make a

or your server to point you in the direction of the hidden lounge and begin your second journey.

Don’t sleep on the classic Italian American eats at Luchini and the East Coast-style pizza by the slice at the adjacent pizza shop, both reminiscent of hot spots in New Jersey and New York. But in the sit-down space of the pizza shop you’ll spot vending machines … and one of them opens to reveal the entrance to the speakeasy, Chez Bippy. The sexy, very intimate space is adorned with plush velvets, lowlighting and a craft cocktail program that celebrates Italian flavors. Besides the popular Prima Donna, don’t miss the delicious coffee-inspired Bella Notte and the zeroproof cocktails.

Flamingo, 702.733.3111

This classic steakhouse inspired by mobsters Bugsy Siegel and Meyer Lansky is a throwback to classic Las Vegas and Miami vibes with décor decked out in flamingos and foliage. The entrance to the speakeasy, The Count Room, can be accessed from the casino floor; look for the kitschy door to Bugsy’s office, or enter through the restaurant (just ask a hostess). Inside the speakeasy, settle in for an impressive cocktail program and an even more impressive OldFashioned menu. The Japanese Old-Fashioned is the smoothest, the Kentucky Old-Fashioned is the sweetest, the Mexican is smoky and the Caribbean has deep notes of vanilla and caramel.

The Venetian Resort, 702.414.3474

By day, guests can sit at Nomikai’s sushi bar, but when the sun sets, look for the door to the left and a small hostess stand. You’ll need to make a reservation for Nomikai’s speakeasy, but it’s so worth checking out. Besides wickedly good cocktails with Japanese influences and ingredients, you can order sushi here, too. With all the rage of espresso martinis, Nomikai puts its delicious spin on the classic with the Ube Espresso Martini (it’s to die for!) and the twist on the margarita, the Salted Plum Air Margarita with Olmeca Altos blanco, Cointreau, umeshu, lime, plum and Yukari Shiso salt foam.

Caramella has quickly become a favorite among Vegas insiders for its delicious Italian eats, the expansive patio overlooking the Strip, its weekend brunch and the cocktail specials at the front lounge. But behind the candy shop that’ll you’ll spot before you hit the main space of the restaurant, you’ll notice one of the walls opens to reveal a hidden lounge, styled in a funky and opulent ’70s style. The cocktails are a treat in mixology, like the Vice & Virtue and the Set Me Fredo with frozen Gran Coramino reposado, cola, Angostura bitters and a pistachio gelato.
