Lasting Talent
This headliner has spent almost his entire life as a star—and he shares it all with his fans
Donny Osmond has some favorite segments during his headlining show on the Las Vegas Strip. There’s the “Donny Rap,” the “Request Segment,” and the climactic part of the performance when inflated, blinking Donny Balls are pitched into the audience for celebratory volleying. The latest addition incorporates artificial intelligence, images of him at age 14 and his grandson to make something magical happen: Osmond duetting with his youthful “Puppy Love”-era self.
“That’s becoming another anchor point to the show,” says Osmond. “People have heard about it. They’ve read about it. They see it on YouTube and in interviews I’ve done. Then when that curtain opens up and you see this three-dimensional character that’s me 53 years ago … I hear the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ coming from the audience.”
Two years in the making, Avatar Donny is a high-tech combination of Osmond’s face as it looked more than a half-century ago and his grandson Daxton, dressed as his grandfather did in the early ’70s when he was frequently featured on covers of teen idol magazines such as Tiger Beat. He’s even wearing a cap that was a trademark back in the day. A fan sent it to him just for the video recording in New York, after which Osmond promptly returned it.
“When I’m looking into the eyes of myself, 53 years ago, can you imagine how strange that is? I’m looking in the mirror 53 years ago,” says Osmond.
Due to the technology involved, Osmond needs to be on point during the segment with split-second timing. Other parts of the show are much more casual and spontaneous by design.
“That segment in my show that I call ‘The Request Segment,’ it’s 20 minutes of unknown,” says Osmond. “I don’t know where it’s gonna go, and like I’ve said in times past, it’s probably my favorite part of the show because it’s unknown. For some people, that would scare them half to death. That’s why I love those parts of my show, because the audience is entertained in real time.” –Las Vegas Magazine Staff

Wow! Look at That View
If you’re seeking great vibes and cocktails, this new rooftop hot spot cannot be beat
Cool cocktails, cool views and cool vibes make Bottled Blonde Las Vegas the new exciting hot spot for visitors looking for a good time. Situated right along Las Vegas Boulevard and anchored by the Grand Bazaar Shops, this multilevel venue is a welcoming environment for people looking for that nightlife alternative.
Cool vibes. No matter the time of day, Bottled Blonde Las Vegas is a strictly 21-and-over nightlife experience. “Bottled Blonde Las Vegas is a hybrid venue that is built around fun— food, beverage and entertainment,” said Bryan Bass, chief marketing officer. “We like to say from lunch to late night. As the sun goes down and the neon turns on, it gets more of a high-energy bar environment—something that is more approachable and casual than the typical Vegas nightclub but still all based around a fun experience.”
Cool views. It’s hard to beat Bottled Blonde Las Vegas’ rooftop when it comes to views of the Strip combined with a large indoor-outdoor environment. “The energy feels really good on the rooftop—and there’s the great patio with an amazing view,” Bass said. Those views not only include up and down the Strip, but a fantastic shot of the fountains show at Bellagio.
Cool cocktails. Two large 360-degree bars (one on the ground floor, one on the rooftop) are where the bartenders are whipping up tasty cocktails. The list of cocktail names lets guests know this venue is meant for good-time drinking—Sip Happens (vodka and Red Bull), Emotional Damage (bourbon and passion fruit) ... the list goes on. But over-the-top fun lies in the large-format cocktails, a definite must if you’re with a group of peeps. Go for the Strawberry Pump, pictured near left, made with Tito’s vodka, strawberry syrup, lemon juice and lemonade, served in a vessel shaped like a gas pump. The Capri Sin is a throwback to the childhood favorite drink Capri Sun, but this is an adult version with its blend of Casamigos blanco tequila, Aperol, lemonade, prickly pear syrup and lemon juice served in that classic pouch with a straw. There are also great beers like Bottled Blonde Ale, pictured far left. –Kiko Miyasato

Strip restaurant serves up tipples and nibbles
When it comes to chic, elevated cocktail experiences, nothing beats the Vanderpump brand. And the latest venue in Vegas from the family, Pinky’s by Vanderpump, features fabulous beverages and bites within its plush, art deco setting at Flamingo.
There’s an unbeatable attention to detail in the decor here. From soft pink ostrich feathers on lighting fixtures to textured wallpaper and rich green and gold hues, everything about this lounge feels oh, so posh. And it only gets better from there.
Sit back and enjoy a cocktail or three, because you’ll have a hard time choosing just one. For a luxe libation, order the Pump & Bump, pictured, a martini made with Vanderpump vodka, dry vermouth, orange bitters, green Chartreuse and olive brine, and served with a heaping bump of caviar to complement the spirit-forward sip. If fruity and flowery is more your style, have the vibrant Sin & Tonic, with Empress gin, hibiscus, blood orange, lemon, ginger bitters and tonic. Pair your sips with some snacks like the totally delicious goat cheese balls, golden brown fried goat cheese with strawberry and hot honey, or the deviled egg gardens, a flight of delicately prepared eggs with irresistible toppings like caviar, lobster salad and smoked salmon. For something more satisfying, have the macadamia dusted chicken tenders with brûléed pineapple, sweet chili YumYum sauce and macadamia nuts, or the Pinky’s burger with lump crab, mango, crème fraîche, Tajín and avocado. –Em Jurbala

Delivering So Much More Than Music
This immersive live entertainment experience tells the story of a legend in a incredibly dynamic way
Most Las Vegas shows are designed to entertain, but few will truly move you and resonate long after you’ve left the lights of the Strip behind. Bob Marley Hope Road at Mandalay Bay is one of those transformative experiences that turns the theatergoing experience on its head (or on its feet, in this case). You’re not just watching a show; you’re stepping into a living celebration of a man whose music continues to unite the world across generations and cultures. From the moment that first beat drops, the space pulses with the soul of Jamaica, carrying the warmth, hope and infectious joy that defined Marley’s voice and revolutionary spirit.
Before the 75-minute show begins, guests can explore a gallery of photographs, memorabilia and quotes that offer an intimate portrait of Marley and the Wailers. There’s even a bar in the main dancehall where you can have a drink as you take in the preshow atmosphere.
When the show starts, guests move fluidly with the cast (all unbelievably talented) from one vividly designed room to the next, each space telling a different chapter of Marley’s extraordinary life. Gorgeous sets, vibrant costumes and seamless choreography create an en-
ergy that syncs with the beat of your heart. Whether you’re called up to a small stage to dance or simply sway where you stand, you become part of the story unfolding around you.
Bob Marley Hope Road is a kinetic experience that engages every sense. You don’t just hear the music, you feel it reverberating in your feet, your chest and in the smiles of the people around you. It’s the kind of performance where strangers leave as friends, connected by a shared rhythm and the universal message of love.
The journey flows through Marley’s timeless hits—songs like “One Love,” “No Woman, No Cry” and “Three Little Birds”—with a high-energy blend of live music, dance and powerful visuals. Between songs, intimate moments of storytelling weave the lyrics into Marley’s life and enduring vision of unity.
For lifelong fans, Bob Marley Hope Road is a heartfelt tribute that honors his legacy. For newcomers, it’s a joyful introduction to an artist whose songs still carry the power to inspire. Either way, you’ll leave with the spirit of “One Love” echoing long after the final note fades, and you’ll be feeling alright. –Genevie Durano Mandalay Bay. 877.632.7400

This showman can’t stop bringing the hits to his loyal fans
OK, so Barry Manilow ’s The Last Concerts series earlier this year, in which he toured select cities in the U.S., turned out to be a bit of a tease—he’s already got dates scheduled in January for Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Ohio. But that’s just more proof that the 82-year-old performer has no intentions of slowing down, and that includes his shows at Westgate Las Vegas (which gave him a lifetime residency commitment recently).
And seeing Manilow in Las Vegas has a significance you won’t find at any of his other shows around the country: Every single performance sets a new record, as he long ago broke Elvis Presley’s record of performances at the International Theater (636).
Of course, as important as the history books are, what really matters is the show—and the music—itself. Manilow is still a master showman, strutting and dancing around the stage as he takes audiences on a jour-
ney through his extensive catalog, everything from “Mandy” and “I Write the Songs” to “Weekend in New England,” “Even Now” and “Ready to Take a Chance Again.” “Copacabana,” Manilow’s showstopping number, is where the event really shifts into another gear. And what better song for Vegas than one about a showgirl? –Ken Miller

Kickin’ It Old School
Speakeasy bar combines the art of DJing and craft cocktailing
Who remembers vinyl? If your teenage years happened in the ’90s like me, you remember the days of crates, turntables and vinyl, and the DJs who carried all of it into the party. There was something special about listening to the DJ soundtrack the evening, switching out records, scratching them, slowing down and speeding up the sounds and mixing melodies. It was a special time for music, especially hip-hop and emerging electronic music.
Now there’s a place (and a party) that brings back all those vibes: Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den at Resorts World Las Vegas and its weekly High Fidelity Fridays.
“It’s an ode to Japanese listening bars; we wanted to create this because of the property’s Asian heritage,” says Josef Wagner, senior vice president of food and beverage and hospitality development at Resorts World Las Vegas. “It’s like a lost art; hardly any DJs play with vinyl anymore and we wanted to bring that back in a beautiful, intimate setting. DJs playing a mix of old-school hip-hop, house music, funk, soul from the ’80s and ’90s.”
Along with the art of playing vinyl, Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den combines the art of mixology. In many Japanese listening bars, the DJ booth is set up
behind the bar, creating a perfect union of music and booze, and that vibe is re-created here. Guests can imbibe thoughtfully crafted cocktails made special for High Fidelity Fridays.
That Sidle Touch is a nod to the moves that DJs make when applying pressure to the record on the turntables. This slightly sweet bubbly cocktail is a mix of Patron reposado, prickly
pear syrup, lemon juice and rosé sparkling wine, served in a champagne flute with an orchid garnish. The Hennessy G Code pays homage to old-school hip-hop and its influence on the success of the Hennessy brand. Mixed with Hennessy VS, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, lychee liqueur and lemon juice, it’s served with an ice sphere and lime chip, resulting in a smooth, slightly

This week’s High Fidelity Fridays, Oct. 17, welcomes DJ Velvet Hoss. There is no cover charge and no reservation required to get into Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den, but for High Fidelity Fridays it is suggested to get there at 9 p.m. to guarantee entrance.
Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den opens nightly at 5 p.m.

The cocktail, reminiscent of a Negroni, became so popular that it made its way on to the permanent menu. So, while at High Fidelity Fridays, don’t miss your chance to order up a Bartender’s Choice and let the creativity of the evening
inspire you to create your own cocktail (and you get to name it, too!).
Other popular cocktails include Can I Smash, a bourbon-based drink with blueberry notes; Tai-Mai Tongue, a rum-based drink with hints of apricot and lime; and the Cara-Me-Home, a dessert-like treat with peanut butter whiskey and espresso.
“If you’re into spirits and a spirit collector, we have a nice collection of brown spirits like bourbons and single malts, too,” Wagner says. “And a special collection of Japanese whiskeys.” Coveted brands include FUYU, Hakushu and Hibiki, to name a few.
“We wanted to combine the DJ craft with the art of crafting cocktails, all in an intimate setting—about 60 people max—and make it about the music and the cocktails, in an unpretentious location with something for everyone,” Wagner says. “It’s a special night that’s playful.” Now those are some party vibes we can dig. –Kiko Miyasato

Johann Hetrick
Bandleader and emcee has found his dream gig
Johann Hetrick was destined to play music and be a professional musician. He comes from a musical family—parents, aunts, uncles and cousins—who either teach music or play professionally. “It’s in my blood, I was born to do it,” he says. Destiny stepped in again, and today Hetrick leads the band and serves as emcee at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas. He’s been with the German beer hall since it opened its doors in 2004. “I was taking a shuttle back to my house from the airport,” Hetrick explains. “The shuttle
comes by the lot where we are now, but it was empty with a chain-link fence around it and a sign that said ‘Hofbräuhaus Coming Soon.’ I made the shuttle stop, got out and wrote down the information and called them.” For weeks, he kept bothering them until they eventually hired him—Hetrick was well versed in German music, playing every German instrument and even heading up his own German music show at Excalibur during the ’90s, so Hofbräuhaus was where he had dreamed of working.
With the espresso martini still all the rage, Hofbräuhaus jumped on the bandwagon with its version, which is positively delicious— and ordering simply one isn’t enough! The cocktail is mixed with New Amsterdam raspberry vodka, O’Reilly’s white chocolate Irish cream, espresso and simple syrup. –KM
As emcee of the band, not only is Hetrick rocking onstage, he also ventures into the crowd to make sure diners are having a good time; he even gets them to play his instruments or participate in the polonäse, a German conga line. “I love my job,” he says.
And why didn’t he choose to teach music or play in an orchestra or philharmonic like most of his family? “I didn’t want that pressure to practice that hard just to be perfect. I just wanted to drink beer and play music for fun!” –Kiko Miyasato

Fresco Italiano specializes in creating memories and repeat visits
It seems like nothing brings people together quite like Italian food. It’s arguably the most popular cuisine—if your neighborhood doesn’t have an Italian restaurant, odds are it has at least one pizza parlor. And plenty of Vegas visitors make Italian food a priority
as part of their visit. If you need proof, swing by Fresco Italiano any day of the week and see how packed the room is.
The longstanding Westgate Las Vegas restaurant enjoys a large number of repeat visitors (including locals), and once you
meet executive chef Shawn Gabilondo (and taste his creations), you’ll completely understand why. “From the moment (guests) walk in, I want them to feel welcome, and when they leave, I want them already thinking about their next visit,” he says. “We have many guests who frequent us, and I’ve been fortunate to build meaningful relationships with quite a few of them.”
A big part of a restaurant’s success is atmosphere, and Fresco Italiano sets a wonderful tone with brick accents, hardwood floors and towering arches, all overseen by a huge, antique espresso
machine. It’s the perfect backdrop to enjoy an appetizer like meatballs, enormous and enormously satisfying morsels of slowbraised beef, pork and veal, smothered with basil ricotta, Grana Padano and marinara. You’ll definitely also want to try the margherita pizza, an all-time classic with tomato sauce, roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil.
No Italian meal is quite complete without a pasta dish (or two), and we personally recommend two options in particular: spicy penne alla vodka, a seriously flavorful take on the classic with a blend of Italian sausage, Calabrian chili, basil and Pecorino Romano; and linguine and clams, a beautiful presentation featuring littleneck clams surrounding a bed of pasta with garlic, chili, lemon and parsley.
Steak lovers will not want to miss the 18-ounce bone-in ribeye, served with garlic whipped potatoes, cipollini onions, roasted squash, sweet peppers and Calabrian chili salsa verde, while poultry fans will be in absolute nirvana with the chicken marsala, smothered with roasted mushrooms, cipollini onions and florio marsala, accompanied by butter-whipped potatoes.
Please save room for dessert—you won’t want to miss two highlights in particular: the Biscoff butter cookie cheesecake, maybe one of the best versions of the dessert we’ve ever tasted; and the tiramisu,
a delight made with mascarpone mousse, espresso and amaretto.
“(Italian food is) something many Americans grow up eating,” Gabilondo says. “I work hard to honor those traditional flavors and textures that people expect while using the best ingredients available. … When guests love their meal so much that they come back the very next day—especially here in Las Vegas, one of the food capitals of the world—that’s an incredibly humbling and rewarding experience.”

Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease has delivered exactly what its name promises: a nightly escape into a world of beauty and seduction. Created by Anita Mann, the sexy revue has outlasted countless trends and productions by staying true to its vision. It’s hotter, bolder and cheekier than ever.
When it debuted in 1999, Mann figured the show might last six months. “We literally said, ‘Let’s do it for six months,’” she says with a laugh. “And they just kept renewing it until, eventually, we stopped counting.” What began as Midnight Fantasy, complete with a sweet Cinderella storyline, soon transformed into something more daring.
“Now the entire show features our cast with their multitalents,” Mann says. “And it works, because they’re incredible.”
And they really are. The dancers are the stuff of Vegas legend—goddesses who can melt you with a glance one moment and leave your jaw on the floor the next as they perform seemingly impossible choreography and acrobatics. They’re not just beautiful; they’re powerhouses, moving with a heady mix of strength and sensuality.
But what truly sets this show apart is the chemistry between these women. They have a genuine camaraderie that radiates from the stage, and they look like they’re having the time of their lives.
“You have to live in a small dressing room with eight, nine ladies,” Mann says. “The most important thing for me, after their dancing ability, is their kindness and their personality and their desire to work as team players.” This philosophy has created an environment where, as Mann puts it, “if the dressing room is not a peaceful, happy place, it’s not a healthy environment.”
At the center of it all is host Lorena Peril, the sultry siren whose powerhouse vocals and comedic chops make every audience member feel like they’re in on the fun.
“Sometimes people are nervous— it’s a sexy show after all,” Peril says. “I just like to make people feel good. I’m not scripted. It’s just comfortable, like we’re all hanging out in the living room and just chatting.”
That warmth translates directly to the audience experience. For Peril, who says she has the best job in the world, the joy she feels coming from the crowd is infectious. “I like to make people laugh. It makes me feel good because they’re feeling good, and I love that they’re all smiling.”
Mann’s show endures because it offers something special: authentic connection. These women aren’t just performing for the audience; they’re inviting them into their world. Night after night, they prove that the most seductive thing of all is the genuine joy they take in their craft. Sexy without apology, Fantasy is a celebration of women who understand that the best fantasies are built on real talent, real friendship and the real desire to make every audience member feel part of something magical.
“Every night, to me, is opening night,” Mann says. “No one ever phones it in. We go all-out, every time.”

Shane Gillis brings his boundary-stretching humor to Las Vegas
Shane Gillis has a habit of toeing the line. His comedy always lands somewhere near the line between funny and inappropriate, and not always on the preferable side, but he has a laid-back, likable personality that always makes the edgier jokes land a bit softer.
Gillis has been on a path to stardom since starting stand-up comedy in 2012, but much of his current popularity comes from viral stand-up and podcast clips in which the comic is usually telling stories about his family or riffing on the absurdity of current events or from his recent appearances in commercials for products like Bud Light, in which he appeared alongside Post Malone. Gillis also co-created and stars in the Netflix series Tires, a scripted comedy show that has an impressively funny cast, including Gillis, Steve Gerben, who is also a creator of and writer for the show, and Stavros Halkias, another popular comedian and podcaster.
Regardless of how, there’s a high likelihood you’ve not only seen some of
Gillis’ work, but had a chuckle at it. It’s comedy that tends to speak to a wide variety of people, because while Gillis’ jokes challenge political correctness, they also fall squarely in the middle.
In his first live comedy album, Shane Gillis: Live in Austin, the stand-up pretty quickly goes into a set of jokes about his Fox News-watching dad, but just before losing the interest of half the room, he launches into lighthearted riffs about how his social media hilariously reflects contrasting views of people from his hometown to his new home base in New York City.
One might assume a comic with the rare ability to land in the middle of many political issues would go without backlash, but that’s not the case for Gillis. He relentlessly throws punches in every direction. No matter who you

are, Gillis has a punch line for you. And from time to time that lands the comic in hot water, but it doesn’t slow his roll. In his 2023 Netflix special, Beautiful Dogs, Gillis fearlessly plays with touchy topics, but very cleverly pulls the crowd back by acknowledging when jokes may not land in the same affable tone fans love him for, and with hilarious interludes with jokes that crack the whole room up.
Fans have two chances to catch the funnyman at Resorts World Las Vegas this week, and as the comic is hitting new career highs, breaking attendance records and taking over the algorithm, this is a great time to see what he has to say. Gillis is someone whose growth is apparent throughout his projects, and it’ll be exciting to watch his already engaging storytelling style reach new levels of excellence.
If an hour of laughs just isn’t enough for you, get more Gillis on Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, which he cohosts with fellow comedian Matt McCusker. Gillis brings the same hilarity you expect from him, but the conversational style of the pod breaks free from the scripted nature of stand-up and feels like you’re just having a chat with two funny friends.

There’s lots of fright to go around at Universal Horror Unleashed
By Em Jurbala
I went through Universal Horror Unleashed alone, and it was … well, horrifying in the best way possible.
If you haven’t yet heard, the otherworldly entertainment district, AREA15, recently unveiled its Zone 2 expansion, which came with an immersive horror experience like none other.
I’m talking about four haunted-house experiences, a live show, roaming scare actors and plenty of bites and bevs to round out the experience.
As soon as you cross the threshold into the main area, the vibes are spooky. It’s like a pumpkin patch, but in a nightmare. It won’t be long until you encounter a creepy character, as there are so many fright actors wandering around and they’re very talented at sneaking up on people when they least expect it, especially the girl with the stabby knife.
There’s no way to say which house is definitively the scariest, but The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is easily the most popular house, judged by its much longer line. Because of that, even if you are a solo spook seeker, you’ll likely get placed with a group to keep the wait time low for everyone else. (For the record, this didn’t reduce the scare factor at all.)
The TCM house is very smart in its design. There are a lot of places for unexpected frights to pop out from, but also plenty of lull moments, creating tons
of suspense. As with any haunted walk-through, there’s a chance you’ll catch up to the group in front of you, but here the people in front of you don’t get scared the same way you do. If you catch an actor scaring someone 10 feet in front of you, that actor doesn’t pop out of the same hole to

scare you; they either find a new spot or a whole other person you didn’t previously see comes out of a different dark corner.
After escaping what felt like near death, I had to check out the Scarecrow: The Reaping house.
The entrance is so atmospheric, immediately teleporting guests to an eerie Dust Bowl-era farm.
This house sends guests through multiple dark and smoky rooms that put you on edge, just to lead to a very disorienting corn maze filled with frightening creatures. And what makes this house so much more unnerving is the various props hung from the ceiling that you end up brushing into and thinking something (or someone) is touching you.
The Exorcist: Believer and the Universal Monsters houses are the ones that really perfect the cinema fan experience. Monsters features
all of the classic Universal monsters, from vampires to mummies and all the undead in between, and The Exorcist feels like you’ve just walked into the movie itself, complete with live exorcism.
Find something to enjoy at the food and bev stands. And if you hang around long enough, a demented clown duo and their evil posse may interrupt to hold somewhat of a competition.
If you’re exceptionally lucky, you’ll be selected for the crowd participation portion of the show, which promises a front row seat to all the madness that’s about to ensue.

Alanis
Morissette brings her message of catharsis to a Las Vegas residency
If you’re a Gen Xer of a certain age, you remember exactly where you were when Alanis Morissette took her place in pop music history with “You Oughta Know,” off her album Jagged Little Pill (I was a college student in Arizona, riding my bike to campus, listening to my Discman.) That particular song felt like a reckoning and gave a generation its own primal scream—raw, unflinching, undeniably cathartic.
The album reshaped what pop music could sound like. Morissette didn’t just sing about heartbreak; she excavated it, turning personal pain into universal, shriekable anthems. When she reminded you of the mess you left when you went away or proclaimed that life had a funny way of sneaking up on you, she was speaking truths that hit so deep some of us are still belting out these songs in the car 30 years on.
Without Jagged Little Pill to bust down the door, the musical landscape would have looked very different for the female artists that came after her. Morissette opened space for everything from Taylor Swift’s autobiographical storytelling to Olivia Rodrigo’s unfiltered heartbreak, turning raw emotion into a commercial force. She showed that vulnerability—and yes, rage—weren’t character flaws to

apologize for but powerful tools for artistic expression.
Her cultural impact was profound. “Ironic,” another single from Jagged, became a generational touchstone with its litany of life’s cruel twists. Sticklers can debate whether her examples were technically ironic, but they miss the point entirely. Morissette was simply singing about the absurdity of everyday life.
Jagged ’s staggering success—it remains the second bestselling album by a woman artist, with more than 33 million copies sold worldwide, more than any album by The Beatles, the Rolling Stones or Elvis—could have defined Morissette’s entire career. Instead, she channeled her honesty across nine more albums, chasing new sounds and deeper truths, from the reflective Such Pretty Forks in the Road to the meditative The Storm Before the Calm.
pause, continuing to beat the drum of radical honesty. Even Broadway gave her props when Jagged Little Pill: The Musical debuted in 2019 and earned 15 Tony nominations,
Now, 30 years after Jagged ’s release, the seven-time Grammy winner is still blazing new trails when she launches her eight-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. But for Morissette, this isn’t about looking backward.
“There’s a perception that we’ve gone somewhere or that this is a comeback or whatever the words are,” she recently told ELLE Canada magazine. “Well, I’ve been here the whole time, and I’ve been evolving and growing and falling on my face and getting back up 100 times. That’s just kind of what I’ve always done.”
Her approach to live performance remains as open as ever, telling the magazine that her concerts are “a

For fans Gen X and beyond, it’s an invitation to sing and scream—pure catharsis, no irony required.

Some restaurants across the Las Vegas Strip have a secret: From steak and sushi to Italian and American,
the cuisines run the gamut, but what they all have in common is a cool factor—they each offer a hipster hidden
lounge where the art of cocktailing is thriving, and the ambience and décor is wonderfully bougie. Make a

Don’t sleep on the classic Italian American eats at Luchini and the East Coast-style pizza by the slice at the adjacent pizza shop, both reminiscent of hot spots in New Jersey and New York. But in the sit-down space of the pizza shop you’ll spot vending machines … and one of them opens to reveal the entrance to the speakeasy, Chez Bippy. The sexy, very intimate space is adorned with plush velvets, lowlighting and a craft cocktail program that celebrates Italian flavors. Besides the popular Prima Donna, don’t miss the delicious coffee-inspired Bella Notte and the zeroproof cocktails.

This classic steakhouse inspired by mobsters Bugsy Siegel and Meyer Lansky is a throwback to classic Las Vegas and Miami vibes with décor decked out in flamingos and foliage. The entrance to the speakeasy, The Count Room, can be accessed from the casino floor; look for the kitschy door to Bugsy’s office, or enter through the restaurant (just ask a hostess). Inside the speakeasy, settle in for an impressive cocktail program and an even more impressive OldFashioned menu. The Japanese Old-Fashioned is the smoothest, the Kentucky Old-Fashioned is the sweetest, the Mexican is smoky and the Caribbean has deep notes of vanilla and caramel.

By day, guests can sit at Nomikai’s sushi bar, but when the sun sets, look for the door to the left and a small hostess stand. You’ll need to make a reservation for Nomikai’s speakeasy, but it’s so worth checking out. Besides wickedly good cocktails with Japanese influences and ingredients, you can order sushi here, too. With all the rage of espresso martinis, Nomikai puts its delicious spin on the classic with the Ube Espresso Martini (it’s to die for!) and the twist on the margarita, the Salted Plum Air Margarita with Olmeca Altos blanco, Cointreau, umeshu, lime, plum and Yukari Shiso salt foam.

Caramella has quickly become a favorite among Vegas insiders for its delicious Italian eats, the expansive patio overlooking the Strip, its weekend brunch and the cocktail specials at the front lounge. But behind the candy shop that’ll you’ll spot before you hit the main space of the restaurant, you’ll notice one of the walls opens to reveal a hidden lounge, styled in a funky and opulent ’70s style. The cocktails are a treat in mixology, like the Vice & Virtue and the Set Me Fredo with frozen Gran Coramino reposado, cola, Angostura bitters and a pistachio gelato.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a delight for all ages
By GENEVIE DURANO
A goose. A miniature horse. A bunch of cats who think rules are for dogs.
Welcome to Popovich Comedy
Pet Theater, the most joyfully chaotic show on the Las Vegas Strip. It’s a riot of fur, feathers and laughter, led by a genial ringmaster who clearly never heard the old showbiz adage: “Never work with children or animals—they’ll steal the spotlight.”
Gregory Popovich, a fifth-generation circus performer from Kyiv, Ukraine, has spent most of his life juggling, clowning and touring with some of the biggest names in the business, including the Great Moscow Circus and Ringling Bros. An appearance on America’s Got Talent got him to the semifinals. These days, he shares the stage with a more unconventional cast: a rotating squad of cats, dogs, birds, mice and more. All of them rescues, none of them particularly interested in stage directions … and that’s when hilarity ensues.
During the show, Popovich—an affable, slightly rumpled man with the energy of a favorite uncle who always seems to be fetching a quarter behind someone’s ear or doing a backflip at the backyard barbecue— juggles bowling pins and balances on ladders while dogs scamper out of windows, cats leap through hoops and birds perform suspiciously intelligent tricks. There are sight gags, slapstick bits, balancing tricks and physical comedy routines that feel borrowed
from another era—in the best way possible. Popovich drifts through it all with a kind of gentle mischief, playing the exasperated straight man to his unruly animal companions.
And the audience can’t get enough of it. During a recent afternoon performance, the theater was filled with families and tourists of all ages. There was lots of laughter, punctuated by delighted squeals from the littles in the front row.
What truly elevates the show beyond novelty is its emotional core. These aren’t just animals trained to do tricks; they appear, unbelievably, to be enjoying themselves. For all his big-top silliness and undeniable physical-comedy skills, Popovich’s real talent lies in his ability to connect with the animals on a deep level. His love for them is palpable, from the way he gently shuttles puppies off the stage to the way he gives a cat or a bird a peck after a trick well done. His name may be on the marquee, but Popovich happily gives his furry friends their time in the spotlight. This circus is also a family business. His daughter, Anastasia, performs alongside him, and at home, the family cares for more animals, all rescues from shelters. Popovich Comedy Pet Theater has called Planet Hollywood home for 15 seasons and has been seen in more than 20 countries.
In a city whose entertainment is built on illusion and a significant amount of pyrotechnics, Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a breath of fresh air. It doesn’t rely on spectacle so much as affection, and at the heart of it is one man’s love for all creatures great and small.
It just might be the sweetest hour you’ll spend on the Las Vegas Strip.
