Art of Life
It’s one thing to look at a piece of art. It’s another thing entirely to become part of the art. But that’s the whole point of the new Trick Eye Experience, a series of interactive 3-D murals at the BLVD Plaza at Monte Carlo. “Each piece creates the illusion of being a part of the painting and invites those walking by to engage with the murals and take photos,” said creator Melanie Stimmell. “At first observers are unsure of what they’re looking at, but as soon as someone joins the piece, each work of art comes alive.” The experience, which will add murals throughout the year, will be on display until 2018.

Odds are that you can find a bingo game any direction you look in Vegas, as it’s long been a popular tradition. But it wasn’t always called bingo—in the ’30s, it was often called “tango.” The Four Queens casino, which opened on Fremont Street in 1966, was named after builder Ben Goffstein’s four daughters: Faith, Hope, Benita, and Michele. Atomic testing in Nevada did not go unnoticed by the Las Vegas Strip. For example, The sinceimploded Desert Inn’s Sky Room often hosted “Dawn Parties” —a night of marathon drinking throughout the evening, culminating in an atomic blast in the morning.
