Some Acts Never Age
There’s truly something to be said for standing the test of time in entertainment. Let’s face it: The landscape is fi lled with shows, acts, bands and more that just came and went. They weren’t bad, far from it, but they learned (as many others have) how hard it is to bring audiences back time and time again. This issue of Las Vegas Magazine is a tribute to all those entertainment icons that work so tirelessly to entertain audiences here and around the world.
Donny Osmond has had a fascinating career, and part of his success is never being satisfied; he’s always looking for new ways to make his performances fresh. This week, Osmond will have audiences gasping with the newest addition to his Harrah’s Las Vegas show (“A Very Special E ect,” p. 32). This is something no audience anywhere has ever seen. You do not want to miss this!
One of the longest-running male revues on the Strip, Thunder From Down Under, is nearing its 25th year at Excalibur, and it’s expanding its brand worldwide (“Body Language,” p. 34).
As incredible as it is to imagine, Frankie Valli is about to celebrate his 91st birthday! Even more incredible? The man is still performing! And he’s bringing all his genre-defi ning hits to Westgate Las Vegas this week, along with backup group the Four Seasons (“Voice of a Generation,” p. 21).

Family-friendly entertainment doesn’t get much better than Popovich Comedy Pet Theater, which is in its 15th season at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood (“Furry Family Fun,” p. 20).
The music of AC/DC is so good that they continue to grab the attention of fans from every generation, and all those generations will be at Allegiant Stadium to rock with them as part of their current tour (“They Salute You,” p. 16 ).
Try to see them all—time is on your side!

Wish Fulfillment
This long-running adults-only romp keeps it fresh with new numbers, lots of talent and a real sense of fun
Change happens slowly at Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease. The dancers like working under the auspices of founder Anita Mann, the gig itself is a dream job for trained dancers, and the performers form bonds that last long after their lives move in different directions.
Eventually it’s time to change, though, and Mann decided that Fantasy was ready for some new dance numbers to go along with new faces. Fans of alluring Abby, statuesque Ashton and magnetic Mariah can rest assured many of their favorite dancers are still part of the show, although zesty Yesi has moved on up to helm another dance-involving show.
That made room for some amazing new talent. Aerial silks artist Jenyne Butterfly performed a gravity-defying number to “Feeling Good” at the 25th anniversary performance in October set to The Pussycat Dolls’ “Buttons” and choreographed by Sierra Leone. Pole dancer Yuliia Trushnya made mid-air magic during “I Put a Spell on You,” a vocal highlight by emcee Lorena Peril. Shealagh, the newest cast member, is a graceful and gracious featured solo
dancer, trained aerialist and gymnast from Massachusetts who was Showgirl of the Month in August.
“Spell” has been part of the show for a while now, but half of the production is now new. “It’s been a big undertaking,” says Mann. “Normally every year I change a number. We just want to keep the show kind of fresh and do whatever we can, but this year I said, ‘Guys, are you ready?’”
Mann enlisted choreographer Mandy Moore to create new opening and closing numbers. “She choreographed La La Land,” says Mann. “She just choreographed the Eras Tour. She’s Taylor Swift’s choreographer and director. She did that fun number on the Oscars, ‘I’m Just Ken.’ She’s a really talented person and we’ve known each other for years working together in other capacities.”
“We’ve been busy,” says Mann. “I haven’t really sat down and thought about every single change, but the good news is we’re still keeping our brand (consistent) and dance is the key.” –Matt Kelemen

It’s What’s for Dinner
From ambience to cuisine, longstanding restaurant remains a bastion of quality
For more than 40 years, The Steak House at Circus Circus has been the go-to for generations of tourists and locals alike. And that’s because its customers always know what they’re getting: seriously great food, a menu that keeps things more or less the same year in and year out, service that makes you feel special, and an old-school ambience you really can’t find anywhere else on the Strip.
Before your meal arrives, be sure to order a cocktail to prepare you for the deliciousness to come. All the classics are here to enjoy, from Old-Fashioneds and Manhattans to dirty martinis, but vodka lovers will want to try the Lemon Drop, made with Absolut Citron, triple sec and lemon juice.
Start your meal with any of the splendid appetizers, from the French onion soup and deeply flavorful grilled garlic shrimp and sautéed mushrooms to oysters on the half shell or the massive Seafood Sensation, a tower of oysters, crab and shrimp that’s practically a meal by itself!
Whatever you order from the steak menu, know this: All the beef on it is Midwestern in origin and aged for 21 days at 37 degrees Fahrenheit to achieve maximum flavor quality and texture. From the New York strip and porterhouse to the filet mignon and ribeye on the bone, every bite here will put you in the best of moods.
And if red meat isn’t quite what you’re craving, quality alternatives include lamb chops, salmon filet, twin broiled lobster tails, Alaskan king crab legs, sweet chili-glazed salmon, chicken breast and grilled garlic shrimp. No matter what you choose, make sure to accompany them with the wonderful sides like asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms or a humongous baked potato with all the fixings.
Dessert options are all top-notch versions of the classics. We’re particularly partial to the tiramisu, here served on a bed of chocolate drizzle, and the crème brûlée, topped with fresh berries and cream. But you also cannot go wrong with favorites like cheesecake and chocolate cake. –Ken Miller

They Salute You
Legendary rock band ready to fill arena with thunderous sounds
When you ask rock fans what band is arguably carrying the torch for the genre more than any other, the response is most likely going to be one of two bands: The Rolling Stones or AC/DC. Both continue to tour, and both are guaranteed to fill arenas wherever they land. And this week, AC/DC brings its Power Up Tour to the biggest arena in Las Vegas for what is sure to be an unforgettable show.
Expect to hear all the songs that are now staples of any classic-rock playlist,
from “Back in Black” and “Hells Bells” to “Highway to Hell,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” and “Thunderstruck,” performed by the current lineup of lead guitarist Angus Young, drummer Matt Laug, bassist Chris Chaney, lead vocalist Brian Johnson and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young.
And make no mistake: This is no “nostalgia” act. This band is still actively producing new material, with its latest album, Power Up, released in 2020. Its material new and old continues to
resonate with whole new generations of fans, leading to it becoming one of the best-selling groups in music history (200 million albums sold worldwide and counting).
A 2003 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, AC/DC simply has nothing left to prove. But it has plenty left to give. –Ken Miller

Surreal Search
Otherworldly attraction offers a scavenger hunt option
Omega Quest seems like an innocuous series of tasks on the surface, a scavenger hunt tailored for the multi-universe realms of Omega Mart inside AREA15: Find and document 10 items or locations with a written solution to a clue or a photo as proof. Several quests, such as one involving the search for “Sop,” look easy enough for smart shoppers who have been to Omega Mart before. But where are these eyeballs? What is “Rose Beef,” and who is “Shelby”?
The best thing to do once arriving for the 1 p.m. check-in is to take a casual stroll around Omega Mart and check out the products. There will be a quest object somewhere among shelves lined with Lil Meow Pigeon Mousse cat food and Healthy Wolf Lonely Hiker Protein Feast, Plausible Deniability laundry detergent and best-selling bendable, squeezable “and totally rad-ish” Daikon plush pals.
Of course, this is Omega Mart, owned and operated by the enigmatic Dram Corporation, so there’s more here than immediately meets the eye. Turn the right corner, climb the right stairs or open the right door and suddenly a surreal world contrasting with the store’s bright lights is available to discover.
The menagerie of scenic design, installations, set pieces and psychedelic playgrounds is divided between the more artistic presentations below and the operations center fantasyland above. Several Omega Quest missions will be in this center, which may be a good place to exchange with an attendant the solitary Omega Quest clue pass that comes with the pen, checklist and mini-clipboard. Better yet, scope the place out for the first half-hour, and don’t worry about finding anything. Get oriented. Sit down at the desks in the operations center, pick up a phone, play with a computer and regard wall décor. Check out the interactive contraptions and the sound-generating station. Walk downstairs and find a river of lights in the floor, a hallway of sense-stimulating rooms, themed side nooks and wall projections, and tunnels that provide shortcuts between immaculate installations and also enable games of hide-and-seek. Parties can make up their own games that can last until closing, but there is a time limit on Omega Quest, so a group effort may be less challenging and a lot more fun. –Matt Kelemen

Furry Family Fun
See house pets do things you never thought they could at this all-ages show
So you’ve brought the whole family down to the desert and now you need something everyone will love? Look no further than Popovich Comedy Pet Theater, a long-running show which features more than 30 house pets, including dogs, cats, parrots and so much more.
A fantastic option for families with little ones, this show is so freakin’ cute. The cast of critters and their human handlers put on lighthearted and funny skits that will keep even the squirmiest little ones engaged. While it’s impressive
enough to see the well-trained animals execute their roles perfectly, the show’s main character, Gregory Popovich (who you may recognize from America’s Got Talent) also pulls off various classic circus acts like juggling way too many objects to count, balancing on a free-standing ladder and doing both of those things at the same time!
Just wait until you witness a dog riding a Shetland pony or a cat jumping through hoops—you’ll be amazed. And the best part is that each animal in the show has
been rescued from an animal shelter and taught tricks that align with their natural inclinations.
After the show, stop in the lobby to not only pet some of the stars of the show (seriously, Popovich’s cats are total love bugs), but also to meet and greet with the man himself and have him sign copies of his books about how to train animals. –Em Jurbala
Voice of a Generation
Entertainer brings his show-stopping numbers back to Las Vegas residency
For years, one of the most popular Broadway-to-Vegas productions was Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. A huge part of that success was the music they produced; there’s just a timelessness about their catalog that defies criticism or age. And now the real deal is coming to town to deliver all that beloved music. Valli may be turning 91 on May 3, but he’s about to demonstrate that he’s as enduring as the songs he helped make famous.
What sets this performance apart from others of its kind is the nine-piece backing outfit Valli has surrounded himself with. These session musicians can reproduce any classic hit with ease, and Valli’s four backup singers/dancers could practically star in a show of their own. Each “Season” possess an incredible voice and a likeability that’s impossible to fake.
Get ready for a night of hit after hit, from “Silence Is Golden,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “Working My Way Back to You” to “My Eyes Adored You,” “Rag Doll” and “Walk Like a Man,” as well as several medleys of songs Valli may not have written, but makes his own through his inimitable style. –Ken Miller

FUHU brings together many Asian cuisines in a fun space
By Nina King
In Resorts World Las Vegas’ The District you’ll find a grove of sakura trees, with the blooms seemingly swaying on a light breeze. The entrance to FUHU is enchanting, with branches creating an arch leading to the impressive double doors and inviting patio seating. Inside, the modern décor encompasses a small dining area on one side and a fun bar on the other. In the dining area, a long window creates an open kitchen feel. Down a short corridor is the dining room with a patio facing the Strip. It’s a dynamic space, with cane-back chairs and eye-pleasing lighting throughout the area.
The menu at FUHU features a variety of dishes that represent several
Asian cuisines, from Japanese to Thai. Start with one of the decadent cocktails such as the Sakura Smash, a pretty concoction mixed with Grey Goose Strawberry & Lemongrass, St-Germain, muddled strawberries and Thai basil. If you are a tequila fan, try the Heart of Fire, with serrano chili-infused Avion tequila, Dos Hombres Joven mezcal, passion fruit, honey and egg white.
Once you have secured beverages, indulge in a few small plates to start, like the black pepper beef lollipop or wagyu beef potstickers. Crispy rice comes in three varieties—wagyu, lobster and tuna. FUHU’s signature cold plates include the yellowtail tiradito (with a spicy garlic ponzu) and truffle

sashimi, plus signature rolls like the Goma crab, made with mamenori, butter ponzu and kanikama. Classic rolls include California, avocado cucumber and spicy tuna, of course! If you feel particularly lucky, order the Roulette roll. Be sure to share this one, made with yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, oshinko, asparagus and soy-tru e mayo, because one slice will have extremely spicy ghost-pepper sambal, and you might not be the one to draw that piece. Might not. But no guarantees.
Mains include the crispy roast duck in half or full sizes; Kurobuta pork belly, sticky lamb chops with maitake mushrooms, sea bass, mala spiced chicken (those Szechuan peppercorns are so addictive) and seared salmon.
For red-meat lovers, FUHU presents a 16-ounce New York Strip, a 32-ounce tomahawk that has been dry-aged 45 days, or a 24-ounce bone-in ribeye. Pair those with sides like broccolini with confit garlic, signature fried rice with your choice of chicken, shrimp or beef, and baby bok choy, or the FUHU Mee, a Singapore-style Hokkien noodle dish with egg noodles, vermicelli, shrimp, chicken, calamari, crispy pork belly and lobster sauce, served with shrimp sambal.

Donny Osmond’s latest state-ofthe-art addition to his show will blow you away
By Matt Kelemen
Donny Osmond has some favorite segments during his headlining show on the Las Vegas Strip. There’s the “Donny Rap,” the “Request Segment,” and the climactic part of the performance when inflated, blinking Donny Balls are pitched into the audience for celebratory volleying. The latest addition incorporates artificial intelligence, images of him at age 14 and his grandson to make something magical happen: Osmond duetting with his youthful “Puppy Love”-era self.
“That’s becoming another anchor point to the show,” says Osmond. “People have heard about it. They’ve read about it. They see it on YouTube and in interviews I’ve done. Then when that curtain opens up and you see this three-dimensional character that’s me 53 years ago … I hear the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ coming from the audience.”
Two years in the making, Avatar Donny is a high-tech combination of Osmond’s face as it looked more than a half-century ago and his grandson Daxton, dressed as his grandfather did in the early ’70s when he was frequently featured on covers of teen idol magazines such as Tiger Beat. He’s even wearing a cap that was a trademark back in the day. A fan sent it to him just for the video recording in New York, after which Osmond promptly returned it.
“When I’m looking into the eyes of myself, 53 years ago, can you imagine how strange that is? I’m looking in the mirror 53 years ago,” says Osmond.
So returning fans have something new to witness the next time they buy tickets for Donny. Due to the technology involved, Osmond
needs to be on point during the segment with split-second timing. Other parts of the show are much more casual and spontaneous by design.
“That segment in my show that I call ‘The Request Segment,’ it’s 20 minutes of unknown,” says Osmond. “I don’t know where it’s
gonna go, and like I’ve said in times past, it’s probably my favorite part of the show because it’s unknown. For some people, that would scare them half to death. That’s why I love those parts of my show, because the audience is entertained in real time, if that makes any sense. We’re making it up as we go, and that’s what’s fun for me and the audience.”
Osmond road tested the segment on tours years ago before his solo residency, which he was not able to do with Avatar Donny. “I fi rst saw it in January, when we were recording in New York in a place called ZeroSpace,” says Osmond. “When I fi rst saw a rough export of my face next to his face, it freaked me out … You can only imagine what that felt like.”
It freaked out fans too, some of whom attended a special Tiger Beat Magazine Preshow VIP Celebration in March, featuring a Q&A with editor Ann Moses. Osmond has come full circle since trying to ditch his old image and can now embrace every era of his career.
He especially appreciates the current phase, in which every performance is now enhanced by groundbreaking use of A.I. “What’s really cool is that I was the fi rst one to do this,” he says.
Thunder From Down Under expands its brand to the far reaches of the world
By Matt Kelemen
If terminology such as “body rolls,” “shirt rips” and “dolphin dives” mean something to you, you understand the language of Thunder From Down Under.
The Australian male dance troupe first invaded Las Vegas in the late ’90s before talent impresario Adam Steck found a headlining home for the bu “blokes” at the New Frontier 24 years ago, then moved them into the Thunderland Showroom at Excalibur 12 months later.
gentlemen in their native habitat. They’ve performed more than 11,500 shows at Excalibur and have torn an inestimable number of tops from their torsos.
They tend to be taller than average as well. “They’re big blokes, but not big big. Girls like them slender with ripped abs,” says Steck. “It’s a very physically challenging show for the guys. They don’t just stand there and take their clothes o . It’s fully choreographed. Lots of energy. Lots of acrobatics. They run around the showroom. They jump up on the tables. It’s a very kinetic, energy-filled room.”
With Thunder’s silver anniversary just around the corner, Steck, CEO of SPI Entertainment, can look back on an opportunity that he turned into a Vegas institution. “It’s been an unbelievable experience,” says Steck. “I’m so proud of being a part of it, how big it’s grown. It’s a household name. It’s an international name, and it will be 25 years on July 5, 2026.”
That’s 25 years on the Strip, as Thunder From Down Under was created by Steck’s partner Bill Cross and debuted in 1991. Steck and a squad of symmetrically muscled cast members accepted a Key to the Strip at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign in 2022 for the 20th anniversary, a highlight that could be eclipsed by quarter-century celebrations.
Steck cites celebrity audience members such as Sting and Trudie Styler, Demi Moore, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears as having witnessed the gyrating
It’s also filled with the screams of ladies overwhelmed by kinetic energy generated by group numbers that have the Thunderous Ones bouncing in unison, shining in the spotlight during solo turns or picking a random patron from the audience for an onstage personal dance. Steck tries to cater to every taste when casting, although it helps if they look good in a cowboy hat for the “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” number.
“Each guy brings a di erent style, a di erent flavor to the performance,” says Steck, who counts acrobats and champion breakdancers among the cast. “Some guys are really incredible dancers. Some guys are OK dancers with a lot of charisma. Everybody brings something else to the table.”
They also buy shirts in bulk, going through at least 10 a night seven nights a week. That doesn’t include the touring editions of the show. “We’re actually expanding into markets we’ve never been in before, like Europe.” says Steck. “We were just in the Netherlands. We played Austria. We have a U.K. tour coming up. Macau is a market we’ve been very bullish on … It’s really just expanding the brand to the far reaches of the world.”

stores that deserve a little extra attention—whether you just browse or decide to buy, they’re worth the visit just for the experience.
Make your first stop at Animazing Gallery, where pop art and classic art collide in a cool retail space that has such interesting pieces it’s like walking through a museum filled with iconic cultural references. Animazing Gallery first found fame in Soho, New York, more than four decades ago. Over that time, owner Nick Leone has amassed a massive collection of art, including the paintings of John Douglas (pictured). Douglas, the drummer for Aerosmith, travels with a blank canvas and acrylic paint. When touring, he’ll use his hotel room as his studio, mixing the paints inside a drum head. He’ll then tack the canvas up, paint and, when finished, lets them drip dry in the bathroom shower.
Jump from one gallery to the next. One can spend serious hours browsing through Regis Galerie. This store is more gallery and showroom than retail, but everything is for sale. “These are not mass-produced pieces, everything is high quality,” says director Lorne “LG” Gostfrand. “What we really base our gallery on is high-quality pieces that you can only find here in Vegas. We display 1,000 different artists from around the world and we’ve been in this spot at Grand Canal Shoppes for 25 years. We’re definitely a destination spot.”
It’s such a destination that celebrities galore have paid a visit—just check out the wall with tons of pictures of famous faces that have made an appearance. Besides museum-quality pieces for the home with everything from bronze statues, furniture and pop art paintings to Disney-in-

From sweet to sparkly, it’s always a good time to gift jewelry. You’ll be amazed at the phenomenal selection at Min -
er’s Gems. This is more than a jewelry store, it’s a treasure chest of stunningly beautiful pieces. Owner Meeta Jethani and her husband opened Miner’s Gems in Las Vegas after the pandemic shut down their storefronts on cruise ships. Since then, they’ve found great success with their shop at The Venetian. The beautiful pieces and rare stones they carry are worth a look, even if you don’t decide to buy. “Our gold selection is our crowd puller,” Jethani says. “But we have a huge selection of diamond baguette jewelry and specialty stones and one-ofa-kind pieces. We have stuff from a reasonable $500 to like half a million.”
Some of Jethani’s favorite pieces (pictured) include a
light blue natural aquamarine necklace, with diamonds set in 14-carat white gold; a 100-carat tanzanite necklace with diamonds all around; a hand-fabricated gold tourmaline set in 18-carat gold that can be used as a pendant or pin; a tanzanite and diamond bracelet; an 18.24-carat

From something special to wear to something special to drink, head to the unique Spirits & Spice. Cocktails and liqueurs and spices and oils, oh my! When it comes to cooking, browse a selection of oils, balsamics and seasonings, and select, bottle and take home your favorites. “The best part about the store is we let you try before you buy,” says River Pizzimenti, sales
associate. The store stocks cocktail-making supplies and tools so you can bartend to your heart’s content. And don’t miss the selection of bottled wine—around 40-50 brands from all around the world.
Currently, one of the best-selling whiskies at Spirits & Spice is the Two Bitch Bour-
bon out of Eureka, Nev.; the company is named after the owner’s two rescue dogs, Sage and Scarlet. Price points for many of the small-batch spirits start around a reasonable $34 and can go all the way up to $1,000.

–Pamela Raia, salesman at Bauman Rare Books
It’s another shop where one could spend hours browsing the merchandise, especially lovers of the written word.
“Three things that determine the value of the rare book: the condition and completeness
(is it as close to original as possible?); the scarcity (How many still exist?); and lastly, the title has to be interesting to collectors,” says salesman Pamela Raia. “Bauman Rare Books is very much a bespoke
service. We always say, ‘You’re not only buying a book, you’re buying someone to assist you with your collection over the long term.’ We help with book care, how to build your library, the environment to keep books in, the storage.”
One of the most treasured books is Thomas McKenney’s and James Hall’s North American Indians, early edition, second octavo edition from 1854 ($25,000). The illustrations are of indigenous leaders who traveled to government offices to have their portraits painted. (This was prior to photography.) The original portraits burned in a fire, but luckily McKenney and Hall preserved the images by making illustrations of each of the paintings. “They made
the illustrations based off the original paintings and without them doing this, we would not have these images of very important Native American chiefs,” Raia says.
Other special book selections include Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice, the first American edition of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights and the first edition of Sigmund Freud’s Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis inscribed by him to a friend. Familiar names in literature also include books by Charles Dickens (a first edition of Oliver Twist), Walt Whitman and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The most expensive book on display at Bauman Rare Books is the $60,000 first English translation of Democracy in America by Alexis de Tocqueville, long considered one of the most important texts in political literature.
AVOID THE FIGHT that’s sure to come when it’s time to choose where to eat. No tussles over sushi or barbecue, noodles or duck; when you eat at Famous Foods Street Eats, you can have it all.
The 24,000-square-foot Resorts World Las Vegas food hall opened with the property in 2021 and helped solidify a burgeoning food hall scene in Las Vegas. Famous Foods is set o with a cobblestoned “street” leading along an expansive, loose U-shaped area, with the stalls ranged up and down the U, and across from it, near the casino. A wall of windows opposite allows natural light to pour into the hall across multiple seating areas.
The food hall channels street cuisines from across the globe, with an emphasis on Asian cuisine, from Chinese to Malaysian. Many menus were
designed by established names in the global food arena, from Bib Gourmand and Michelin Plate concepts to James Beard Award-winning chef Marcus Samuelsson. Since opening, several new food experiences have been added to the hall.

Some of the more celebrated o erings include Kuru Kuru Pa from DJ Steve Aoki and his restaurateur brother Kevin Aoki (the Aokis’ father was behind the creation of Benihana). There’s a vegetarian option, here, too.
If you feel like eating a little healthier, stop bythe new Salad Jack’s, where you can find ready-to-go versions like the chopped salad or Jack’s Seasonal salad—or create your own.
A little farther back in the food court is the large circular dessert
stall, Sweet Eats, with an enormous illuminated lucky cat floating overhead. Depending on the day, you’ll find flavored ice, cakes, and custom-dipped candy apples. It’s the perfect ending to a meal, or, even better, perfect all on its own.
