Personalisation
Introduction
With each globe made bespoke to order, we offer an expansive array of customisations to help breath life into your commission. Be it with bespoke cartography, hand drawn & hand painted illustrations, or travel routes. There is almost no end to the manners in which you can personalise your map or tell your the stories of your favourite travels or family history around the world.
We will guide you through the process to realise your vision. Options include everything from simple changes - like highlighting special places, adding quotes, or including references to important moments of your life - to completely bespoke maps. Our maps are a blank canvas for you to play with.
Hand drawn and hand painted illustrations can be added and are quoted based on detail. We hand draw each illustration, position them within the cartography - either land or sea - and then hand paint the colour and detail to bring them to life. Anything can be drawn and placed on your map as long as it fits. Naturally, there are some limitations on the size of a country’s borders that must be considered in placing your bespoke artwork, often necessitating the placement of illustrations along coastal areas or within close proximity of its intended location. We will, in these instances, inform you of such limitations and provide detailed mock-ups to ensure we are matching your expectations. Rest assured, our team will work tirelessly to ensure the final outcome works harmoniously and is true to your vision.
This document is designed to showcase some of the more common requests as well as some of the very unique commissions we have done to date. We hope it will help inspire you ahead of your own personalisation requests. You are in no way limited to what is shown within the following pages - you can specify exactly what you would like to see on your globe and send your own references for illustrations.
After you place your order you simply need to list your requests or ideas in an email (more detailed instructions will be provided). From there, we will create a digital mock up of your map so you can see and feedback on your edits. You will also have chances to either approve or request further additions before your ideas are finalised on the globe itself.
