What did Glendower students do during the global pandemic of 2020? Well, they kept fit and carried on!

PE, like many subjects, was significantly impacted during the pandemic, with virtual lessons looking very different to our usual programme. However, despite this, the importance of staying fit and healthy had never been more important.

Like most things, our Glendower students took these challenges in their stride, and they continued to put great effort and energy into the remote learning programme. Our focus concentrated on understanding the benefits of physical activity and keeping active, through a mix of theoretical and practical lessons. Students enjoyed participating in weekly physical activity challenges (60-second challenges), skills lessons on cricket and athletics, as well as live Zoom workouts with their teachers!

Our competitive sports programme was devastated by the lockdown restrictions, resulting in the cancellation of many of our favourite events, including the Interhouse Swimming Gala, Sports Day and the IAPS National Swimming Finals. However, as soon as we are able to, we will once again be back on the court and in the pool, representing our great school! And we can’t wait!
