Sizzling Sins: Seven capital vices to remember The Glass Hat Magazine has decided to embark on another project that is guaranteed to rock your creative minds. The magazine is pulling out all the stops and it’s time to introduce the seven sins with a GHM twist. If this announcement does not make you scream for joy; then I do not know what will make you happy. The idea comes at a perfect time because I am tired of dodging tornados/thunderstorms in Oklahoma and I am ready for a series that will make me forget the unpredictable weather in Oklahoma. GHM was put together by local artists and represents paint for paint that the human spirit is magnificent when it’s expressed in a creative setting. I am sure many questions are running through your diligent minds right now and I have no problem answering some of your thoughts throughout this series. If you are feeling overwhelmed right now my advice to you is to devote some time to rest and recover and come back when you are ready to digest this astronomical theme. Please take some rest time and check us out on Facebook at (http://www.facebook.com/#!/glasshatmag?fref=ts) and also tell your friends to visit our website at (www.glasshatmag.com). Let’s make a stand and stand strong together. Time, energy, passion, and experiences are directly related to the core concepts of the GHM. Many people have dreams and are scared to reach their goals because at first glance their dreams may not seem obtainable. Here at the GHM, we are an elevator that gives any artist, model, dancer, a lift to reach their personal goals; if they are willing to put in the hard work to get recognized. Hello Glass Hat readers! My name is DeAnna McNeil and I am an agency independent model from beautiful Wisconsin. With measurements of 35/28/36, I consider myself a very versatile model with experience in many areas, including studio portrait, fashion, runway, hair modeling, film, pin-up, glamour, horror, alternative, artistic, pageantry, and various themed shoots and projects. In fact, I’ve been fortunate to experience most every genre within the industry with the exception of lingerie, implied, and nudes which I choose not

to include in my portfolio. While “only” 5’7” I’ve never let the conventional stereotype of height limit my possibilities and have even participated in runway shows throughout the Midwest! Some of my favorite opportunities include runway modeling for The Salon Professional Academy and White House Black Market. Popular fashion media such as television shows, glamorous commercials and magazines captured my attention as a child; but before high school I was too shy to approach a modeling agency

or attend a casting call. During my late years of high school, I decided to put off going to college for journalism in order to pursue my ambition to become a working freelance model. Now, I’ve found a great way to combine my love of writing and fashion through my blog; deannamcneil.blog.com, where I discuss fashion, beauty products and the fun experiences that occur in the daily life of a model like me! I also have a portfolio blog at deannamcneil.blogspot. com, where my fans and supporters 23can GlassHatMag.com

view my latest photo shoots, fashion shows, special events and even some candid behind the scenes images! I’m looking forward to traveling to even more amazing locations as my career continues to progress. It is very rewarding to be able to work with talented makeup artists, photographers, designers, models and coordinators. I have been provided the opportunity of promoting the best of Ulta Beauty as well as Redken; where I realized how rewarding it can be to help produce a spectacular show – a definite confidence boost!

Over time my work has transitioned from an expanding hobby to a growing profession where I pray God continues to bless me and grants me the opportunity and ability to participate in the competitive fashion industry. I am proud of who I am and the things I do. Like many models, I strive for excellence but at the same time I’m able to maintain a level of professionalism with courtesy, independence, and persistence at the center of my career. I have been fortunate to be published in several American magazines, but I hope to someday bring my talents to other countries; becoming a model in demand – a goal that requires a balance

of professionalism, personality and an understanding of mind, body, and versatility. My ultimate goal is to become a professional canvas of the fashion industry by striving to always learn from my experiences, and the people I meet through my work. I continually strive for excellence in all things and believe my uncommon persistence and professionalism help me stand out among the many other amazing models. I pray that God grants me the opportunity and ability to compete and continue to grow in the amazing fashion industry. GlassHatMag.com

I became very interested in photography at a young age. Being so young, I never thought of myself as a photographer or that I would even come this far. I remember getting my first camera on my 13th birthday and from there I was hooked! It was just a small digital camera, but at the time it was the best thing ever and from that moment on I began asking for photography related gifts for every Christmas and birthday. Two years later, for my 15th birthday, I got my first DLSR camera, it was a Canon Rebel xs…I was in love! Immediately I started organizing mini photo shoots with my friends and family. I was able to grow from those first experiences and I continue to grow today. I’m proud of how far I have come with my work; knowing that it’s not just an interest, it’s my life and it makes me who I am.

Glass Hat Magazine Submission Requirements

Edited By Kaylee Michelle

We love art, supporting the different varieties is what makes being a part of this magazine so great. Whether it is painting, pottery, crochet, basket weaving, glass blowing, photography or modeling...the list goes on and on. We want to show to the world your creative ideas. However there are specific submission requirements and our process is important to the vision of the magazine. This enables us to streamline our efforts to get your artwork published. So please pay close attention, failure to adhere to the submission guidelines will result in ineligibility to be published. We do not want your personal process to prevent others from getting their work published. Requirements for Submission as a model, artist, and creature of immense beauty are as follows: 1. Determine your theme It is up to all the artists involved to determine the theme. If you are the only artist involved, this part is easy. Get creative and show us your artistic abilities. We are not going to limit your craziness; in fact, we appreciate a good shock factor! However, keep in mind that simplicity is valued as well. The magazine appreciated and accepts both.

2. Everyone involved must be credited This includes you as the artist, your assistant, and even the person who brought you the water as you work diligently on your artwork. (Well, maybe not the water boy.) But everyone that played a part in the finished product. Let’s get them credit also. 3. Ten images MUST be included with every submission Each artist selected to appear in the magazine must submit 10 images for the panel to review. This seems to be the problem that we run into often. So we are going to say it real slow. {Please -pause a second- 10 {pause} images {pause} must {pause} be {pause} submitted. (repeat if necessary). If that does not help, you can check out or Q & A for possible solutions. 4. Images MUST be jpg/300dpi The images have to be submitted in jpg format at 300dpi and large enough to fit an 8 1/2” x 11” page. We love showing off your work! Besides, anything less than these specs will result in a terrible resolution and will look too terrible to for print-format. So there is a reason behind our madness. 5. Submit what you want when you want There is not a deadline to get your work submitted to us (unless previously discussed and agreed on). If we don’t hear back from you in a timely manner we will try to send a friendly reminder.

If you do not respond after the first reminder we will have no choice but to drop your name into the bottomless pit of no return. Or just remove you as a potential featured artist for the upcoming issue. The choice is at the discretion of the magazine panel. We strongly believe that these requirements are not too demanding, but for those that cannot live life without closure. Here is the reasoning behind it all. When the panel receives your images of the beautiful artwork you create we take the best image and set it aside to compete for the cover image. From the rest of the images 7 will be selected. Some of your work will not make the cut. Sorry but that is life. Not everyone gets to be on the winning team. We will try to utilize no less than 6 images. The rest of your images may be used to help promote you and the magazine. We love giving credit where it is due! *What happens if you don’t submit 10 images? Your work will not be accepted. Wondering why, review numbers 1-5 above. **We are unable to provide each artist a printed copy of their published work. Printed and digital copies of the magazine will be available for purchase. If there are any more specific questions concerning submission, please feel free to contact the magazine at info@glasshatmag.com

Glass Hat New Direction of Glass Hat Magazine Change, we are all familiar with the term. For some, it is a dreadful experience. It means deviating from our normal comforts to explore and try out new things. For others, it is a chance for renewal. Reaching up and pulling ourselves from the hole of normalcy and starting fresh. We are a year old and we are looking at changing. Our one year anniversary is here. We started out as a Oklahoma friendly publication whose sole mission was to help build exposure to the up and coming artist. Whether you were a painter, sculpture, sketch artist, model, photographer, entertainer or fashion designer. We wanted to do all that we could to help bring exposure. A year has passed and we have analyzed our readers, counted our page views, and listened to our customers. The results, we are moving away from Oklahoma friendly and evolving to a magazine that caters nation-wide. The modeling and Glamor industry to be more exact. What does this mean for you. Better images of models, all shot by talented photographers. It is all about

sexy in your face hotness. Don’t worry we are keeping it to implied, lingerie and bikinis. {A couple of our staff members are still a bit shy} We are not going to just focus on the up and coming talent, but any talent that wants to get published. But we will tighten our submission process. Garbage in...garbage out. A tightening of our submission process will come into effect immediately. If you are wondering if this will affect you, check out “Submission Requirements”. If you submitted your work prior to this public notice, you will still be under the veil of conservativeness. We will publish your work as timid pieces of artwork. After today’s date....if you submit work to us that is boring, conservative, or poorly shot. We will kindly tell you to open your eyes, push your limits, and re-read the user’s manual. If you fail to meet the submission requirements, we will be kind enough to let you know. To all our conservative customers. “The squeaky wheel gets the oil”

Speeding up the process of getting magazines to the general public. You can now purchase either printed or digital copies of the magazine. Check out our order page here. New submission process is in the works. You will soon be able to submit your images directly to the website, once approved by our panel, your images will be viewed by hundreds of people. We will start hosting events, network shoots, and casting calls. Our first network shoot is currently in the planning phase, once we determine the date come out and network. Bring your business cards, comp cards, and any printed collateral that you have to help get your name out there. This event is free. Selected photographers and models who attended the event will have the opportunity to be published in our magazine. So bring your A game, anything else will not be excepted. Due to the nature of the magazine, this event is 18+ We will have a couple of our staff photographers on location if you have any questions.

You only live life once, so enjoy every moment that you can. 14. If you could choose any type of animal in the world to be what animal would you choose? Please explain your answer in great detail. I try to get references on who I work with it tell others feel free to contact who I have worked with. To me it’s a job and image I’m creating for a product, magazine or agency. 9. How do you find the time to separate your professional life from your personal life? Explain Well it’s not hard to separate. I don’t walk around posing. I am grateful to be happy and I am constantly around wonderful family and friends. 10. What is your advice to aspiring models that have dreams to become professional model in the future? Never give up, ask other models for advice or pick a few popular models and see how they pose Learn how promote yourself and also find a reputable agency. Word of the mouth is better than Google.

This is one of the most respectful and helpful magazines to be apart of actor talking to the editor, proud to be in a magazine that cares and helps models out and I think its great to feature a plus size model. Not everyone is a stick and I def don’t think that’s what you need to look like to be beautiful. 6.

What is your biggest fear?

Lol, I try to live fearless. A shark attacking me in the ocean would suck.

2. Can you describe a situation in your life that prevented you from reaching a dancing goal? Please clarify how you handled the situation. guess you just have to take the good with a grain of salt? I am thankful to have love and support from an amazing family and wonderful group of friends. Ultimately I love what I do. My work is not out there to please or upset anyone; it’s a form of selfexpression and story-telling. Keep in mind as you judge me through a

camera lens that you don’t know who I am, or the path God has chosen for me. God loves all his children and somewhere along the way people have somehow forgotten that. I’m very grateful that my work can challenge perceptions and attitudes and I hope that I can encourage people to enjoy the art and leave the rest up to God. I believe I’m on His chosen path for my life and I’m

positive that when I get to the gates of heaven he won’t I will not be cast away because of my modeling portfolio. So be the best person you can for the next person in line! Bee Brunson

Bee-Mused Bee Brunson By Kaylee Michelle Hello! I’m Bee Brunson and I’m a small town girl from Fargo Oklahoma - a typical tiny Oklahoma town with no stop lights, no significant stores and no bars. The pace of life is slow and we thrived off playing with friends in our big yard, sports and camping adventures! Everyone knew everyone, and if you didn’t know what you were doing, your neighbor did! Even though I see now that I was sheltered, I loved growing up there. My family is large and very close-knit. I’ve been blessed to have amazing parents who’ve been married for 39 years, an older brother, three older sisters, and a younger sister. I’m also blessed to be called “Aunt Bee” by ten incredible little people! I didn’t grow up wealthy, but I did grow up rich in family. I wouldn’t trade the experiences I’ve had for all the money in the world. Growing up in a large family that values the outdoors will always provide found memories. While my childhood was amazing, my life hasn’t always been rainbows and butterflies. When I was seventeen, we lost my oldest sister to a terrible incident. Four years later two of my precious nephews became angels as well. The pain of loss is still very real, but I try to stay positive and appreciate every day of life with those I love. Experiences like that can make you bitter or better; I like to think that tragedy has made me a better person and my goal is to inspire people to stay strong through difficult times. While I’ll admit I’m no saint, I’m certainly no devil. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to express myself through modeling even though at times it comes with great ridicule and judgment from others, and I believe even more so living in the traditional “Bible Belt” belief. What I find artistic, tasteful, and beautiful others find pornographic. I GlassHatMag.com

Passion: Let’s move forward together The Glass Hat Magazine has been going strong for many consecutive months and this issue is the 1 year anniversary issue for the magazine. I am thankful that the magazine has been around for 1 year and has been able to help many talented individuals use their crafts to gain exposure. The road the GHM has traveled on has not been smooth and has been a bumpy path that has caused the magazine to change it’s identity to directly impact artists, models, rappers, and dancers, so that they can get the recognition they deserve. My deepest condolences go out to all the families that lost their love ones on 5-20-13 because of the F4 Tornado that hit the Moore area. A tornado is a serious weather condition and many people were affected by the monstrosity that occurred in a blink of an eye. In 12 minutes, people lost their houses, cars, family members, pets, and also their will to survive. I can not imagine the pain that each tornado survivor feels but I can pray for everyone and mention in hard time’s people should join relief groups, donate money & cloths, and support all the people that have lost everything. Please take some time and check us out on Facebook at (http://www.facebook.com/#!/glasshatmag?fref=ts) and also tell your friends to visit our website at (www.glasshatmag.com). Let’s spread the word and move in the same direction. I have always believed that life has some type of greater purpose to be fulfilled. Here is a closing quote that I want to recite to you by an artist that you may not be familiar with. “What a strange thing is memory, and hope; one looks backward, the other forward. The one is of today, the other is the tomorrow. Memory is history recorded in our brain, memory is a painter; it paints pictures of the past and of the day (Artist Grandma Moses).” Never forget to show affection to your loved ones and make sure that you live your life with no regrets.
