The Grand Valley Parks and Recreation Foundation was recently formed!
This new non-profit, called the Grand Valley Parks & Recreation Foundation (GVPARF), raises funds to supports parks and recreation scholarships, projects, and programs throughout Mesa County. Currently, the GVPARF has pledged to help raise funds for the Redlands Roundabout Project.

We welcome in person registrations at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 1340 Gunnison Avenue. Hours: 8:00 AM12:00 PM and 1:00 PM5:00 PM, Mon-Fri. Credit card, cash, or check.
To register for Little Sunshines, STARS, SCORE, or Tween Camp, you must complete Early Learning Venture - CORE (ELV) Online Enrollment prior to registration. It can take our office up to 48 hours to process your required paperwork. The required paperwork can be found online at gjpr.org/summercamp.
Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Spots cannot be saved for any program. For example, if you want to register your children for 10 weeks of STARS, full payment for 10 weeks is due at time of registration. If a holiday falls within a camp week, the price may be pro-rated. Week 11 (8/7-8/10) is available on a limited basis for ages 5-11 at select locations.
Photographs taken of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation programs are often used in marketing materials in print and/or online. If you do not wish to be photographed, or have a family member you do not wish to be photographed, please indicate this on the camp enrollment form.

• Schedule: A schedule will be emailed with detailed information about your week at camp the Thursday before the start of each week. Please make sure we have a correct email on file!
• Clothing: Campers will need to wear active clothing, including tennis shoes, for our fullday activities.
• Field Trips: All of our camps are mobile camps and will include field trips and day excursions around the valley.
• Late Fee: Registrations less than one week before the start of camp will incur a $10 late fee.

STARS camp has been in the valley for over 20 years and offers a oneof-a-kind day camp experience for your kids! Focusing on building social skills, developing self-confidence, and staying healthy, we offer a variety of enriching activities to fill a camper’s day. This isn’t your average summer camp! Get your Tween out from in front of the TV and they will be inspired to stay active, discover new interests, and make life-long friends. Just like your pre-teens, Tween Camp is always on the go. Through a mixture of structured activities, our program has been designed to meet their needs. Drop-off and pick-up locations will change daily based on activities.
Do you have a child at home who enjoys playing sports? Then this is the cool place to be this summer! SCORE Camp is designed for boys and girls to stay active all summer long. Basketball, soccer, football, baseball, you name it, we have your sports covered at SCORE Camp!

Unlock the potential of public service with City Academy. Local high school students will discover what it takes to run a municipality through hands-on experience. Participants will learn how to be a youth voice for City services by learning how to become engaged and informed citizens. High schoolers will be immersed in the inner workings of the City of Grand Junction, including Fire, Police, Parks & Recreation, and more. Students will discover exciting educational opportunities and career pathways. Essential skills such as resume writing and interviewing techniques will be incorporated. For students to receive the full benefit of the program, attendance at all 10 sessions is strongly encouraged. Join now and be a part of something truly special. This fun, exciting day camp is perfect for swimmers who are curious about joining the Grand Junction Rapids Swim Club. Dial in swim techniques with daily stroke workshops, build camaraderie with games and activities, and even get an introduction to springboard diving! Sign up by the end of the week to receive discounted registration for the Rapids Swim Club. Send your Swim Camper each day with their swimsuit, goggles, towel, sunscreen, bag lunch, and water bottle; snacks provided. Stay, swim, and ride the water slide at no additional fee daily.
Has your Tween ever wondered what it might be like to save someone’s life? Junior lifeguarding teaches skills ranging from basic rescues to CPR. Participants will be challenged physically and mentally in a fun and safe, encouraging environment while learning the value of teamwork and professionalism. Registration includes an allday pass to swim (waterslide included) after class each day. Your future lifesaver should be prepared with a swimsuit, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, bag lunch, dry clothes, and a towel; snacks provided.
Dive head-first into fun this summer with the Springboard Diving Club! Learn and refine the basics of springboard diving, including approaches, hurdles, tucks, pikes, and more. Divers will use both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, as well as dry-land exercise and drills to twist and somersault into incredible aerial displays of athleticism! Time to build cool stuff! Crafter’s camp is all about tool use, creativity, and engineering. With camping and outdoor themes, participants work on new projects each day to take home. For an added challenge, campers will even fabricate the tools used to build their projects! Breaks are incorporated to explore the park and look for materials, and participants practice focus, follow-through, and patience while working on practical problem-solving skills. Take the plunge into club swimming with the Grand Junction Rapids! Team practices are in the mornings at Lincoln ParkMoyer Pool and five fun swim meets throughout the summer will put these young swimmers to the test. Learn to jump, vault, tumble, bounce, and spin your way under, over, and through whatever obstacles and barriers you come across. Led by Jeremey Sanders, international instructor and founder of exploreparkour.com, participants scramble through a well-developed progression to become their best ninja selves! Campers build strength, timing, balance, flexibility, and explosiveness as instructors lead them through challenging and fun skills and exercises. Instructors incorporate obstacle courses, martial art forms, acrobatic movements, and props to learn and choreograph key parkour and free-running movements.
