Workshop Description: Students will examine a type of vocabulary most often encountered in everyday conversation: phrasal verbs. Students learn the meaning of a phrasal verb, become familiar with when it is used, and then practice using it in a sentence. Students will practice speaking and writing sentences using new phrasal verbs every week in ways that are both fun and engaging.
Workshop Learning Outcomes: By the end of the workshop students will be able to: ● ● ● ●
Define phrasal verb Practice new vocabulary Apply phrasal verbs in discussion and/or role play Demonstrate the use of the phrasal verbs learned in class
Methods of Instruction: A variety of instructional techniques will be used in this course including lectures, discussions, and activities. The instructor will lead discussions of course theory and may include other assigned readings, case studies, team exercises, and group or individual projects.
