Tabasco

The Tabasco story began in 1868 when Edmund McIlhenny started making the sauce on Avery Island, Louisiana, using peppers grown on his father-in-law's plantation. The original recipe used just three ingredients: vinegar, salt, and pepper mash from his homegrown peppers. The McIlhenny family has continued the tradition, with the company remaining family-owned and operated to this day.
