Meet the Farmer: Berry Delicious Farms
Nahun Avalos started Berry Delicious Farms after a transformative encounter with Michigan blueberries in the early 2000s. Impressed by their flavor, he purchased his own blueberry farm, devoting weekends and vacations to its cultivation while working off the farm. With meticulous care, he tends 60,000 plants on 100 acres in Covert, Michigan. Which is a few miles away from Lake Michigan, blueberries grow naturally in Covert due to Covert’s soil and humid climate during growing season. Initially selling to other growers, he later expanded to local stores, gradually building his product's reputation.
