Liberation Tactics: From a Jamaican maroons perspective The defending and protesting for basic human rights and liberation empowerment does not necessarily come in the form of rioting and throwing objects around. You can still fight for freedom and the liberation of Africa by simply standing up for what you believe in.
T
hat is one of the most effective form of tactic applied by the Jamaican Maroonseven as of now.
fortitude , and mysticism , as shown by Jamaicans such as Bob Marley, Usain Bolt, Marcus Harvey and the 18th century Maroon strategist Nanny. Nanny was leader of the windward maroons and held up as the most important figure in the Maroons history. Nanny was the spiritual, cultural and military leader of the windward maroons and her importance stems from the fact that she guided the maroons through the most intense period of their resistance against the British between 1725 and 1740. Born around 1680 in Africa's present day Ghana. She was reported to belong to either the Ashanti or Alan tribe and went to Jamaica as a free woman.
A tactic that should be incorporated in the pursuit for African liberty.
It's said that Nanny went to Jamaica with slaves of her own.
The maroons are the forerunners of Jamaican independence and the independence of spirit. And that is according to Harcourt Fuller, Georgia State University associate professor of history and a Maroon from Moore Town.
And that alone was unique because at that time few African dignitaries kept slaves of their own.
The Maroons say that they would rather die than live in bondage. It's just a part of them; never to be bound, never to be subdued, always seeking justice , always striving to survive.
Nanny is said to have been married to a man named Adou, but had no children. She died in 1730s. Slaves imported to Jamaica from Africa came from the Gold coast, the Congo and Madagascar. The dominant group was referred to as Coro-

Therefore, the resistance against slavery by the maroons was in defense of their culture and identity , their spiritual and political values and preservation of African civilization. Consequently , present day African liberation struggle forerunners should fully grasp the essence of being African and then use that identity and the culture that accompanies it to affirm their confidence and self esteem in the face of every evil entity and political institution that threatens the freedom of African individuals.

Here and now comes a very important tactic from.the maroons that present day liberation struggle forerunners can apply inorder to attain victory. Present day African liberation struggle forerunners should be able to be ferocious when is it that it comes to resisting bondage.
Strategically never allowing the oppressor to detect any sign of weakness in you while you try as much as possible to build your momentum on the oppressor’s purported / alledged strength.
Being in bondage should never be in the mind of any African. However the mind of Liberation struggle forerunners should be preoccupied with resistance, survival and above all else freedom. According to history , the two most important tactics that led to the freedom of the maroons were the unfailing desire for freedom and the determination to attain freedom. The memory of their African culture and identity instilled in them great confidence and and self esteem. So much So, that this diluted the stigma of inferiority imposed by plantocracy.

The African Union Humanitarian Summit. Tends to ignore the African political crisis that is a major trigger to the most pressing humanitarian catastrophies on the continent.
T
here is a Great Equatorial Guinea proverb that argues, "A river that's forgets it's source will soon dry up".
Likewise in Ghana there is an adage from the great tribe of Akan called Sanfoka, and this translates to mean " looking to the past, flying into the future while realizing where you are in the present." With that sort of background Africa as a continent must begin to demonstrate it's capacity to confront her vital problems head on using her own models.
And this stride can be realized at the formulation of a humanitarian agency that is fully run and funded by Africans without forgetting the political monster triggering human catastrophies on the continent. Africa's most prized resources are both women and young people. For with these two incredible resources Africa can and will fundamentally realize her full potential as a continent with so much yet with so little accomplishment. At the climax of any humanitarian crisis women and young people suffer the most. Thus these are the same group of people that any humanitarian agency ought to focus their attention towards. On the 27th of may 2022 the African union sat a summit aimed at forming and fundraising for an African based humanitarian agency. Pledges were given left , right and centre even though one wonders if the political crisis in Africa has been ignored, yet it seems to be the leading cause of all the major humanitarian plights on the continent ever since time immemorial. For without tackling the political crisis in Africa most especially the one that it about to reach a tipping point in East Africa ; then the humanitarian summit in Malabo deserves to take a step backwards while borrowing both the philosophy of Sanfoka and the proverb of Equatorial Guinea. The same country whose capital city hosted the humanitarian summit on the 27th of May 2022. African problems should be entreated with African home bred solutions, so does the singer of the song announce. However how do we get ourselves out of a problem that we have created ourselves. This now brings me to the idea that instead of a humanitarian summit perhaps maybe the African union should focus on ensuring that it's members abide to the respect of all human rights and to all the best tenets of democracy. Most Africans are in a catastrophic humanitarian crisis brought about by bad governments whose common denominator is the abuse of basic human rights and the disregards of democratic principles. The African Union should start summits that draft policy documents which are aimed at curtailing and bringing to book those bad African leaders that not only stop at killing dissenting voices but only change the constitution in order to extend their over stay in power. In that way every politically motivated humanitarian crisis will be controlled right at the very tap root of its genesis.
Pledges amounting to millions of American dollars shall be collected but as long as their is no will by African leaders to tackle the trigger of African based humanitarian crisises every effort will seem but in vain. unlike in the western hemisphere where the spill over of humanitarian need is fundamentally brought about by natural calamities, in Africa its really a far different scenario. Bad governance is the major cause of humanitarian situations in Africa. Thus even though the effort to establish a humanitarian agency by the African union is amazing in and unto itself, bad governance in Africa is more urgent a problem needing emergency solution as of now. The African Union needs a democratic and human rights watchdog. To make sure that member states not don’t give room to undemocratic proclivities such as the abuse of a given election process along with the unusual tempering of the constitution to suit the need of those individual with the intention to overstay in power.

What was the idea (vision) behind the conception of the Association? The Association was formed with a sole objective of solvingtraders’ problems and specific concerns that they interface in the day Juma Ssenyonga Interviews Frank SSenyondwa in Kampala to running of their enterprises. How many members has the Association garnered so far?
After a decade of almost no activity under the defunct Uganda Motor Spares Traders Association (UMOSTA), the Motor Cycle Traders Association of Uganda has revitalized its activities and has set out to move motor spares traders in down town Kampala to a new level. According to Frank SSenyondwa, the Association spokesperson; the body has come out to empower motor cycle spare parts dealers in down town Kampala with a ripple effect that is going to be felt all over the country with time. Our Reporter had an interview with Senyondwa, below is the excerpt. What is Motor Spares Traders’ Association of Uganda? The Motor Spares Association of Uganda was formed to gather all traders into one group mostly those dealing in motor cycle spare parts in the areas of Kisekka Market and Nabugabo-shauriyako.
The association has so far got membership of over one hundred and we are still expecting more to join. What are some of the benefits that members of the association hope to benefit from the body? Since its inception three months ago, some members have already started benefitting from the association. Five members have so far benefitted from the activities of this association while others are expected are to benefit more. Previously, if someone lost his/her relative no one cared was rendered and that unfortunate scenario must change immediately thus consolidating the purpose of creating our Association all the more. For instance, we have also formed a whatsapp group forum through which we announce various social events including burials, weddings, what specific spare parts we have on the market, at what price and other get-together events. The members in turn make personal contributions through which we can collectively support each member respectively. We reflect every body’s contribution on our social forum. The latest beneficiary got over 2.6 million in collection fees to facilitate his mother’s decent send-off. Is the Association membership free or individuals have to pay in order to be become a stake holder in the association?

We hope to extend our tentacles to other business fraternities all over Kampala and other parts of the country. What challenges have you encountered since the formation of this association? We had previous predecessors that ruined the ideals of previous associations. This greatly lowered the zeal of traders. We thus decided to engage our members at an interpersonal level as we progress to a national level. What is your vision of this association in times to come? We are yet to convene our first inaugural meeting soon in which we are going to devise strategies that will empower our members to profitably g a i n
from their membership in form of advanced bargaining grounds when clearing their goods at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), lobbying for more representative rights among our members that are local investors among other benefits. This is just a tip of the iceberg; so much more is store for our members at each specific time. Right now, we are moving slowly but steadily to accomplish our medium term and long term objectives.

Since we been operating under the caveat that our problems are for the western hemisphere to solve. And as long as that dispostion and mentality stays in the mind of this great continent then Africa shall not realize her full potentials. Hence at the ASDL/ The Battle of Gifted Tongues we tickle a generation into a righteous indignation mood inorder to have a generation rising up to the occassion and battle with critical issues of the day and time. This rising up to the occassion is a work in progress that will not yield results immediately but we do believe that in the due course of time a fundamental change in how we percieve ourselves us a continent will occur and happen. Its on record that nobody walks on the ASDL / The Battle of Gifted Tongues platform and not be inspired academically , intellectually and spiritually.
An awakening out of the slumber that has long been a portion of this great continent called Africa. Many times than not Africa has been without a doubt a continent in slumber. To the extent that even our own divinely activated plight in many situations does not inspire nor motivate us to do something about our desperation and destitution.

Sir Albert Einstein was was asked in one interview in regards about what kind of weapons shall be used in war world 3, Sir Albert Einstein responded and said, “ I dont know what weapons shall be used in World war 3 but what i do know if there will a World War 4 the weapons shall be sticks and stones“. At the ASDL/The Battle of Gifted Tongues we understand that sticks and stones are symobolic to Truth and Knowledge.

With that being said the ASDL/ The Battle of Gifted Tongues is a platform for African Encyclopeadists that are equipped with Truth and Knowledge as weapons of warfare against everything that threatens the greatness of mother Africa. One of the most drastic evils that threaten the grratness of mother Africa include ： corruption, dictatorship, greed for power, miseducation, self hate, poverty, and the lack of nationalism. Africans should be aware that the greatest of all continents is Africa. And as an African people our greatness should stand as a point of inspiration for other citizens of the world. The natural wealth of Africa as a continent is second to none. However we need to generate a group of Africa encyclopedists who understand the history , the present dynamics governing global economic/ political trends .
As much as a people who understand the future based on spiritually inspired wisdom inorder to turn the Africa situation around for greater good. Under The Shadow of The Almighty.
Psalms 91:1-2 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty"
There is distinctive power in the word of God . Power enough to stop every storm that comes threatening your life. All you got to do is to abide in the secret place of the Almighty God. Because it's in the secret place of the Almighty God that the shadow of God shall cover you so that your enemies will never be able to cast Their evil and nasty hands over your life. Danger shall position itself against your life but it will never be able to touch you because the shadow of the Almighty God has covered you. Walk in the word of God, believe in the word of God and lift up the name of Jesus .And never let thanksgiving depart your lips not your mouth. In the times when the enemy for the life of you has pushed a bitter and a strong storm against your life, it's pivotal to never get your eyes off the Almighty God. This is essential because once your eyes are focused unto the Almighty God. The attention of the Almighty God has be drawn into you. Indeed and In fact once you get the attention of God then you will be followed by the a divine response from God. A response that shall directly focus on the storm in order to minimise the effect of the storm that threatens to sweep your life down under. While you look to God Almighty amidst the ranging storms agains your life remember to heed to the voice of God. It's heeding to the voice of God that shall fortify you as well as help you navigate throughout the course of the storm up against your life. Without a doubt they will be lots of dissenting voices and opinions. However you should be stead fast in paying attention to the voice of the Almighty God cause that's your only survival kit. No threatening storm will over take your life because you have been established on the solid ground of the word of the Almighty God. Storms will rage against you but they will leave you standing to the glory of the Almighty God.
God shall established you and because that is so , God has also covered your life and all the affairs attending to your life with his shadow. Thus the favor and the victories of God shall not depart your life. You will see evil being defeated and experience the fall of your enemies from sun up to sun down. Every platform upon which the enemies of your life were launching a stormy attack on your life shall have to fall apart and be no more. The stormy attack shall lose its power and its launch pad shall be destroyed and stand no more.. And you shall rejoice in the Almighty GOD because his shadow has been laid over your life. The moment the Almighty God commits to cover you under his shadow, God will protect you , defend You, comfort you, and ensure the safety of your life. When unrest comes into the land it sometimes comes so that God can punish the evil man. However that unrest shall not come near your dwelling nor to your shelter. alf a century ago the liberation struggle for Africa was between African young men and women of conscience against the white supremacist in form of colonial masters.
Conversely, in the present day ,Africa still seems unliberated and being held captive politically, socially and economically. Yet still the dictomy of the liberation struggle for Africa is now unique to the extent that half a century ago it was between young Africans against white supremacist inform of colonial masters but presently, the liberation struggle is between young Africans and African tyrants plus dictators. Indeed and in fact there is a battle and a struggle ranging where post colonial African leaders have turned into evil tyrants and dictators who have a diabolical disposition that states " power belongs to individuals but not the people". Dictatorship is an evil form of authority that yields civil unrest and the suffocation of both gifted and talented people alike. It's in this very respect that dictatorship and tyranny should be fought with every equipment at the disposal of young Africa. The economic backwardness of Africa as a continent is directly connected to the spirit of dictatorship and tyranny. If we as a young African people can be fully determined to defeat dictatorship and tyranny then the economic and social situation of Africa shall experience prosperity.

In addition the fight against dictatorship and tyranny by young Africans should be one that is underpinned by love . Love is the most powerful of all entities. For without love nothing can be accomplished. Young Africans need to love others and self as much as the motherland. The term Africa literally means the first of her kind. Ignorancy is evil for it compromises dictatorship and tyranny. Little wonder that most dictators develop several strategies in keeping a people bond in ignorancy. Because an ignorant society helps dictatorship to thrive immensely. In the fight against dictatorship and tyranny , young Africans should understand that dictatorship and tyranny are a spirit. And spiritually forces are many times than not overcome in the spirit realm. Thus there is a need for there to be a group of spiritual warriors skilled and gifted in the art of spiritual warfare. This is imperative because the first victory against dictatorship and tyranny can only take place on a spiritual plane.
Thus every African young and old should be self determined and self confident because we are a unique and blessed group of people. Every young African should understand that they ought to stand up and be counted in the fight for the liberation of sun-kissed mother Africa. undoubtedly the liberation of Africa from dictatorship will come however it will come faster when young Africa stands up , rises up and begins to act against the dictatorship and tyranny of the day. Free speech irritates the tyrant and every dictator; thats why those who operate in the authority of dictatorship and tyrant always try to crush free speech. As a matter of fact there men who posit themselves as servants of the most high God that have forsaken the way of God inorder to alignment themselves up with the dictstorship simply because the dictatorship has offered them material wealth.
It's time to wage war against dictatorship and tyranny in the spirit of God.

ith nearly 80% of all the problems in Africa arising from politically related conflicts.
conflicts that are essentially fuelled by political regimes that are undemocratic.
Somalia United to create the Somali Republic and after the dissolution of the union every state returned to it's original name which is Somaliland and Somalia.
Yet they refuse to make a transition from authoritarian proclivities to a democratic agenda.
It was on 18th May 1991 that Somaliland declared her independence from Somalia after 30yrs old struggle .
Being enshrouded in political turmoil all the time the Hope of Africa now than ever before seems to be the democratic achievements of Somaliland.

Lastly even though Somaliland remains familiar with poverty and economic- social difficulties. zation that works for the advancement of global freedom. Only 10% of Africa's population is considered 'free'. With a population of only 3.5milion people and an annual budget of $250million, Somaliland is surely becoming a beacon of hope in the Democratization of Africa.

AN INTRODUCTION TO STEAM lead to a certain problem and why it exists. The learner begins to unearth alot of key background information, skills, or processes that students already have to solve a problem and a specific problem. The innovators ,educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century will be intensely required to take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the Creative process.
Another critical component in STEAM is about active research and intentional teaching that leads to discovery. And in this every student researches problems to find possible solutions and perhaps present those solutions to critical issues.
However to.prepare young Africa for the 21st century challenges there is a vital need for the introduction os STEAM
As well as what is not working as per current existing solutions.
The introduction of STEAM is a grand opening to an educative environment that is fluid, dynamic and relevant.
This allows students to discover gaps in pre-existing solutions and apply their innate skills to given processes in solving a problem more effectively.
Its a disprution of the everyday classroom learning whose philosophy is theory based rather than practical based.
After the students discover and carefully analyze current solutions as well as what still needs to be addressed, they can begin to create their own solution or composition to the problem.
This both leads to student achievement and teacher efficacy. where the student excels at cognitive development, increase literacy and math skills, and help students reflect meaningfullly on their work and that of their of their peers. The arts in the STEAM approach of education helps students to improve their language and further outperform their counterparts , who received no arts integration, in both math and language. STEAM as an educative appraoach was designed to meet the needs of a 21st century economy. STEAM allows students to connect their learning in these critical areas together with arts practices, elements, design principles and standards to provide the whole pallet of learning at their disposal.
Finally, this is where they use their skills, processes and knowledge that were taught in the discoverage stage and put everything they learnt to work. The moment after students learn to create their own composition and solution to specific problems then it vital for there to be a presentation. The presentation helps in constructive feedback and criticism. Based on the student‘s perspective surrounding the problem at hand. The feedback helps students to learn how to give and recieve input. Plus the revision of their work basing on given feedback inorder to be able to produce better solutions.
STEAM removes limitations and replaces them.with wonder, critique, inquiry, and innovation.
There are three fundamentals of STEAM namely ：critical thinking, inquiry and process-based learning.
The intention of STEAM is to select an essential question and problem.
STEAM should be able to invoke questions, deep questions that google wont answer.
While the implemention of STEAM is how to answer a selected question and find a solution to a selected problem.
STEAM should provoke inquiry, curiosity, and stimulate the ability to find solutions to a specific problem, and being creative in the finding of solutions is at the heart of STEAM.
