Csaba Molnár’s new piece conveys pict ures on nothing - nothing like us - us called humans - humans as the greatest and most potent habitants of this whole holy planet. Five people try to surrender in a fictitious world. If not truly connect at least to coexist peaceful ly in a world created by the fiction of theatre. They work hard to make sense out of nonsense and land on a common ground of acce ptance. Five individuals meet in a fictive room hosted by the theatre. With their voice, with their body and with the objects found as if they were left overs of a riot of a fictitious prot est. They imagine a place of free expression and expansion of ideas, thoughts and the body. “Csaba Molnár is highly excellent and innovative in the modulation between laughter and drumming, from drumming to clap ping then into romping, and in poin ting at the existence of mankind as we have neve r seen before. Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi investigates the female body, its role in today’s society, its reasons and aspects of successfulness or unsuccessfulness. Revealing taboos and personal confessions about living in a female body in a lecture-performance solo piece. “The starting point of my solo piece is that my whole being is communication in itself. All I need to do is to barely exist in order to communicate some meaning. The size, colour, smell, state of my body and above all its gender will communicate a context in which I exist, a character, a role that I choose to take. What do you see when you see a female body on stage? What can a female body communicate about the roles we choose to take and the roles that are constrained on us by society? How could we transform this female body into a free body of self-expression?” (Zs.R.) Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi’s hand-made solo piece with playful humour, video inserts on the various social aspects of the female body and role investigates the issues of the society’s restraining and castrating effect on the female nature through advertisements, manipulated media, tradition or just mere tomfoolery. And this is all done in a plain, personal voice, through movement and dance bare from any fabrication, which makes us feel that we could be there on stage with her with our imperfect bodies, with her thoughts. Presenting the roles of a modern woman we get to the ultimate problem: shall we offer our biological capacities to the service of society and improve the current - 1.7 European birth-rate or shall we leave the future of Europe to be solved by immigration? Why should we care if the way we feel to be treated by our society is unfair, not PC? Point of You is a game - for the dancers as much as for the audience. Is this a random collision or a deliberate kick? It depends on where you’re sitting... Instinctive and intri cate movement spill s between the two performers. Each scene unfol ds and teeters between two sometimes confl icting points of view. Laughter is sometimes indistinguishable from tears. This play ful debate wonders in a clever and sensitive way: why must we alway s be right? The performance is a personal and in the same time philosophical game of the two creat ors, about trut h, co-ex istence, encou nter s and the possible conflicts of different point of views, parallel realities. Without being exhaustive, they unfold their own instinctive and free chain of reactions in front of the eyes of those prese nt. Holding hands, which attracts and thrusts away at the same time, but also gives support and it will bear you even after letting each other go. Two dancers, Viktória Dányi and Nels on Reguera Perez examine all what is underlying a relation ship between two people through this endlessly repeated, rout ine-l ike gesture. In three chapters the performance pres ents three different variations in a playful and abstract manner leaving ground for the viewers for free associations. Harmonised steps and turns, interlace of hand s inextricably holding onto one anot her basic motifs that grow into more and more complex dance combinations slowly abandoning rules and restrictions. “Simplicity always has the ease that it is capable of preserving equivoca lity, and this offers excellent possibilities to the creativity of the viewer. Keep in Touching works as a single encounter, as a rela tionship or as a creative process just like as an imprint of a lifetime spent hand in hand in movement. Especial ly when - as in this case - the performance does n’t tickle your emotions. Sleeping Beauty Project invites the viewers into the transit zone of our inner world and the outer reality. This project amalgamates contemporary live art for ms, visual arts, commu nity activi ty and the atre. It was bor ne in the ambition of scouting the unknown, in the excitemen t of interdisciplinarity, in the wis h for audience involveme nt, in the broadening of horizons. This game or choreogra phy takes place in the empty theatre space, whe are left on their own gui re the viewers ded by an invisible per son, a voice. They become of one another.
