Çok sayıda resimlerin yer aldığı kitap, yüksek kalite keten kumaş kaplı olup ve tıpkı savaşçı şövalyesi gibi markanın koyu renk yeşili ile tasarlanmıştır. 500 sayfalık bu yapıtta kalem üreten firmanın köklü ve hareketli geçmişi hem detaylı hem de kolay anlaşılır bir üslup ile anlatılıyor. İçerikler kronolojik sıraya ve Faber-Castell ailesinin sekiz nesillik aile tarihine göre hazırlandı. Böylece şirket tarihi sadece objektif bir tarzla değil, bazı trajik, bazı parlak hayat hikâyelerine sahip olan bir ailenin nasıl çalışkanlığı, yaratıcılığı, ticari yetenekleri sayesinde marangozluktan Avrupa’nın en saygın aileleri arasına girdiğini anlatıyor. ‘Faber-Castell since 1761’ The history of quarter millennium company in one book On this old, well established German company’s history, there is a lot to write and even already had been written. Faber-Castell celebrated the 250. year anniversary in 2011.With this respect, to know their history closer, and as a tribute to 250 year past of Faber-Castell, a book ‘Faber-Castell 1761’ was published. The successor and the company personnel Anton Wofgang Graf from Faber-Castell made contribution in publishing the book by doing most of the writing himself for the book, opening the company archives to the publisher and helping for the use of documents and photographs. The book contains too many pictures and has high quality linen fabric cover and also it is designed in dark green like the trade mark’s warrior knight. In 500 page book, the deep rooted and active past of pencil manufacturing company has been described in detailed and easily understandable manner. The contents are prepared in chronological order and according to the eight generation of Faber-Castell family. In that respect, the company history is explained not only in objective manner, but also having some tragic, some bright life stories of a family, owing to their hard work,creativity, business talents from carpentry to their place among Europe’s most respected families.

The size of the pencils we use today is owing to the standardization work held in Stein back then. The Faber-Castell’s pioneering role and innovative force continue to have impact even today. In 1992, the company signed another first and stepped forward into the manufacture of eco friendly pencil and colored pencils. Faber Castel was obtaining the necessary raw material from certified agriculture and tree producers of Brazil and Colombia. The company, as employer, insured the employees’ social rights under work-insurance coverage they generated in 1844. This social security is valid at all production centers(2000). Faber-Castell has been very successful at different fields, besides their main business the manufacturing pencils and colored pencils. For example, Faber castell is the first German company to manufacture the pen. One of the most important efforts is that they stepped in the cosmetic sector too. In this category, make up pencils, eye pencils and pencils for lips are taking important place.
