ROLLS ROYCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME PROPOSAL

Introduction

We are delighted to share with you our proposal for how the team at Gen Healthy Minds could support your programme. We believe that we can deliver a programme that will provide a fantastic developmental experience for your Graduates and Apprentices both whilst they are on programme and as they offboard into the business. This proposal outlines the suggested shape of a core behavioural programme and a follow up offboarding programme. It’s design incorporates a number of elements that we believe will make it stand out in the marketplace.

• The impact of the programme is measured through our complimentary Workplace Wellbeing Survey – Graduates and Apprentices can access a tailored individual wellbeing report, providing them with insight into their wellbeing as well as their engagement and performance levels compared to the wider population. You can receive an overall report measuring wellbeing,engagement and performance of the cohort.

• Our Offboarding programme - allowing your people to plan their future career and build key skills to support them.

• Optional coaching circles and podcast series – giving access to experts from our team and within Rolls-Royce to provide advice and guidance on their development journey.

• Online and face to face Masterclasses – high energy interasctive classes with our expert team on a wide range of topics.

• Complimentary journal to support self-development - we will provide each graduate or apprentice with our “Work in Progress” book on journaling written by our team member George Anderson. This book helps individuals to learn how to journal as well as provide many useful tools to support individual planning and personal effectiveness.

• Recordings and immediate feedback scores for each online masterclass.

In this proposal we have outlined our suggested programme timings and content . We haven’t specified timings for the offboarding element as we would like to work with you to plan this element.

Alex is a leading expert in Digital Wellbeing having conducted Academic research at Aberdeen University with a research focus on the impact that digital technology is having on wellbeing. She has used her expertise to create Livemoreoffline And a series of programmes to help people have a healthy relationship with digital technology

Dean is a leading expert and author on wellbeing and high performance having written the book “Thrive” a holistic guide to wellbeing. Dean is also an executive coach and professional speaker.

George Anderson

George is an international wellbeing speaker, coach and author who has worked with individuals and corporates for over 20 years. He has designed and delivered wellbeing courses, bootcamps and written books on the topic

Boost your Performance Programme

The diagram outlines the suggested shape, content and timing of our proposed Rolls-Royce Performance Programme to support your people to flourish and perform at their best throughout their programme. We would start and finish the programme by undertaking a workplace wellbeing survey to measure the wellbeing, engagement and performance of the cohort and show the progress they make as a result of the development.

We would then kick off the programme with a face-to-face masterclass during their induction period that will focus on how they can create a positive impact early in their career and develop the professional standards expected in the workplace.

In the early part of their programme, we would recommend two online masterclasses with our wellbeing experts to support the group to manage their wellbeing, build resilience and thrive. The first masterclass would look at how to manage mental and physical wellbeing to achieve high performance in a challenging work environment and the second would focus on how to build resilience and flourish as you take on change. In between these masterclasses we would develop key presentation skills through our face-to-face masterclass with one of our professional speakers.

With these foundational skills in place, we would then focus on developing their self-awareness and team/relationship skills through our Boost Performance and Boost Emotional Intelligence masterclasses that will then lead into a day with one of our Leadership experts focusing on developing core leadership skills in preparation for their future roles.

Workplace Wellbeing Survey

The PERMAH wellbeing survey for workplaces is a recognised tool for assessing wellbeing engagement and performance within an organisation or group within an organisation and identifying how it can be improved.

The survey (which we recommend is completed at the start and end of the programme) shows how your colleagues score against the 6 areas of wellbeing and performance within the PERMAH model;

1. Positive emotions – how happy they are

2. Engagement with the organisation

3. Relationships at work

4. Meaning – how meaningful they find their work

5. Accomplishment - how much they feel their work is valued

6. Health – how well they manage their physical health

Your workplace report will allow you to look at how the cohorts Wellbeing and performance improves as we deliver key skills and development You can also see where the group may be struggling and what you are learning about caring for wellbeing of your cohort. This will allow you to assess both the impact of this programme and how well the business is supporting and giving them the tools to succeed.

Boost Your Impact and Professionalism

This session will help participants to understand what is expected of them in the workplace and consider how they can individually and collectively have an impact and stand out in the workplace

• We will ask the group to discuss and define what they believe professionalism means based on their pre-work and then share a simple model looking at the key traits of professionalism

• T rusted – to deliver and do what you say you will

• R espectful - of your colleagues

• U nique - bring your whole self to work and recognise others do too

• S killed and knowledgeable – take ownership of your professional development

• T eam player – willing to contribute to wider team and organisation

• Using group discussion facilitated by Gen Healthy Minds to look at how each of these traits could be applied in different aspects of life at Rolls-Royce e.g. in meetings, within their team or as part of their personal development.

• Small groups will move around the room or to look at different aspects of work life and define minimum standards of professionalism they want to work to.

• We will then introduce the concept of Brand and the importance of both their personal and the business brand and discuss in groups what the behaviours are that will help them to shine as a group and create a positive brand within Rolls-Royce.

• We will capture both the minimum standards and shine behaviors/statements

• We would also create an overall charter from the session based on the common themes that emerge.

Boost Your Mental and Physical Wellbeing

Our “Thrive through change” masterclass part 1 will help participants boost their performance every day and take on the challenges they will face on their programme

• Learn about positive psychology and positive psychology techniques and how these can boost performance every day

• Gain practical skills and tools to boost wellbeing including practicing gratitude, check ins and mindfulness to help you to flourish at work

• Create a more positive relationship with technology for healthy high performance

• Understand the energy management model and the importance of strategic recovery

• Explore how to improve diet, activity, sleep and hydration for immediate results

• How to build healthy routines in your day and create new habits

Boost Your Resilience and Make Stress your Friend

Our “Thrive through change” masterclass part 2 explores how changes to boost your resilience to take on the challenges your work/learning will throw at you and deal with an ever-changing environment

• Understand what is meant by resilience and why it is important in the workplace

• Explore the four levers of resilience and what they mean for you

• Look at how to develop a growth mindset and be more in control

• Explore what is stress and how it can be used to elevate performance but also be managed when it becomes overwhelming

• Learn stress busters and tools to build stress tolerance

Boost Your Communication Skills

Our “Boost your communication skills ” masterclass will help participants to master the art and skill of delivering and gaining buy-in to ideas. This is a one-day face to face masterclass which will include the development, delivery and feedback of a live presentation. The Masterclass will help graduates prepare for important presentations within their teams, to key stakeholders/clients or at larger events.

During this masterclass one of our professional speakers will help participants to explore;

• Why effective communication is important and what creates a powerful pitch.

• Top tips to communicate with impact

• How to develop a “story arch” to present your ideas in an engaging way that connects with your audience

• Delivering with confidence – we share best practice for how to prepare for and deliver with confidence

• We share top tips for overcoming the barriers people may face when delivering a presentation such as stressful feelings or anxiety

• We look at the power of feedback. How to seek and give feedback and participants can practice in a safe way

• We share further resources post masterclass that will help participants deepen their skillset.

Our “Boost your self confidence and motivation masterclass ” looks to help deal those with Early career anxieties by exploring what is confidence, how is it can be created, affected and applied. We then explore how we can find motivation and maintain it every day.

• We will explore tools and techniques to boost confidence in our professional and personal lives in order to maximise performance.

• Explore the psychology of confidence and how we can train our brains to boost confidence and performance.

• This Masterclass will look at both short and long-term motivation and what drives and inhibits both.

• Participants will explore the relationship between targets, expectations and motivation.

• They will also explore how to motivate themselves in uncertain times and in new environments which is key in the rapidly changing business landscape

Below is an overview of our Boost your Career Offboarding Programme that will support your people to turbocharge their career as they move off their programme. The programme will help them to explore their future career goals and look at ways that they can accelerate their progress towards them . The programme comprises three elements:

1. Optional self-assessment - will allow individuals to identify the areas where they can focus their attention to have greatest impact.

2. Our Boost Your Career Masterclasses - a blend of face to face and online masterclasses with our expert team will help to refine the skills and practices that will support them to achieve their career goals.

3. Optional Coaching Circles and Podcast series- facilitated group coaching discussions and podcast series with ex apprentices and graduates to explore each topic further with the help of our expert facilitators/coaches.

Our “Boost your Career Planning” masterclass will help participants to build a powerful plan for the next stage of their career and equip them with the tools to deliver against their goals

• Explore the key elements of an effective career plan namely;

• How you can play to your strengths within your plan

• Pathways you may wish to follow and short-term versus long term career goals

• Identify the technical/work skills you need to develop to meet your career aspirations

Our “Boost your Strengths and Personal Brand” Masterclass will use the “viacharacter strengths finder” questionnaire to explore your character strengths and look at how these, aligned to your values can help you to achieve great career goals. The masterclass also helps participants to build their brand and why this is important for business success

• Understand your character strengths and why playing to your strengths is more important than improving your weaknesses.

• Explore the core values that drive you e.g. having an impact on others and how these can drive your career direction
