Hair Accessories to Spice Up Your Look

If you count your blessings, your blessings will count and the reverse is also true.

I once heard a story of a merchant who travelled in the desert where there were bandits; surprisingly, this particular man was never robbed, because the bandits always saw a tall wall around this man and all his goods and servants. But a day came, they started seeing some cracks in the wall, later the cracks got wider until they could enter through it; on entering, they woke the merchant up, he was really scared, but the bandits said they were not there to rob him but they needed to ask him some questions. They asked him what he had been doing that they couldn’t gain access but this time around, they noticed cracks in his wall? The merchant remembered and told them he was always praying having a good fellowship with God before sleeping but recently he was getting too tired hence not having time to pray like before; this he concluded was the reason for the cracks in his wall. Luk. 18:1.

I challenge you to draw near to God so he can draw near to you.

6.Learn to cast your cares and burdens upon the Lord: Psa 55:22; 1Pet.5:7 nothing weighs one down than having to carry a heavy load on one’s head or shoulders. A good Samaritan once gave an elderly man a lift in his car, on looking through his rear mirror, he noticed the man was still carrying his big load on his head, he stopped to ask the man to put the load in the trunk of the car, but the elderly man turned to him saying he had assisted him by giving him a lift, that he didn’t want to bother him again by putting the load in the trunk of the car. Do you know in the same vein, when God said cast it i.e. give it, throw it and leave it there; “if he carried the weight of the world upon his shoulders, be sure he will carry you”. You can’t afford to bear grudges, have bitterness, malice 1 Pet.2:1-2; 5:7 guile and all evil speaking in you. You can’t

be bitter and be better at the same time. Forget the past and move on; forgive yourself of the past mistakes because God has forgiven you.

7. Live a life of gratitude: to be more prayerful this year, you must be a person given to gratitude. If you count your blessings, your blessings will count and the reverse is also true. You cannot lavish your love on God and he will not show up and show off in your life. Let’s look at the story of the ten lepers, only one of them came back to show gratitude, this of course opened him up to something bigger and better than what the others got; the other nine got cleansed, but he was made whole–in other words there was no trace that he ever had leprosy.

Wholeness there also meant he got saved, delivered, restored, nothing was missing and nothing was lacking in his life etc.

I trust God that your prayer life will take a new turn this year in Jesus name, amen.

You are not Forgotten

Bolanle Olawale just Being Prepared Iwas speaking with a young lady who was going through some challenges and she just couldn’t understand why God was allowing her to go through all the troubles she was facing simultaneously. “ It’s just not fair”, she exclaimed with tears running down her face.

Indeed no one likes going through trials and tribulations, yet the Lord asks us to count it all joy (James 1:24). The Message translation even says we should consider it a gift when we are faced with trials. Why would the Bible say this? Facing challenges is certainly not anyone’s desire. How can having a challenging boss at work, being betrayed by a friend, having a bad diagnosis from the doctor and the many other challenges we face be a gift? How can we rejoice in the face of troubles and be thankful when faced with trials? The story below might help bring some context to this passage.

A traveler was visiting a logging area in the Pacific Northwest and was interested in seeing how the logs that would be used for furniture were chosen. As the logs came downstream, the logger would suddenly reach out and hook one, pull it up, and then set it down. He would sometimes wait for a few minutes before grabbing another. There didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to his choices.

After a while, the visitor said to him, “I don’t understand what you’re doing.”

“These logs may all look alike to you,” the logger said, “But I can recognize that a few of them are quite different. The ones that I let pass came from trees that grew in a valley. They were always protected from the storms. The grain on those trees is rather coarse.
