Our Culture

Letter from the Chairman The Gold Coast Academy of Sport is a not for profit organisation dedicated to helping young athletes achieve their potential, and that is not limited to the field, course, pitch or court. The academy is young but it values are “old school”, equipping athletes as individuals to cope in the modern world and for life. We are committed to developing well rounded, well grounded athletes who are focussed and driven in their sport, but who are also “good sports.” How you play the game is just as important as how well you play the game. Athletes will learn not only the rules but how to play by them. They will be comfortable and humble public speakers. Our young people are representing the Gold Coast Academy of Sport and wider community at all times. Our values are simple: Achieve your best in every aspect of life; Excel in everything you do; Inspire others and yourself by your deeds; and last but not least Respect yourself, the gifts and opportunities you’ve been given and those around you. HON. MICK VEIVERS Founding Chairman, Gold Coast Academy of Sport
