DUE

All assignments become available every Friday and are due the following Sunday. This is NINE days to complete all assignments for the week. Late assignments will not be allowed.

Academic Integrity Set your child up for success by allowing them to complete their assignments with their own answers. Encourage your child to embrace mistakes and try their best. The teacher is available to assist and support learning. Learning Coaches are allowed to read assignments and lessons to their child, but answers should reflect the child’s learning and ability. You are not doing your child any favors by doing their work for them.

“The greatest mistake to make, is to be afraid of making one.”

Week-at-a-Glance

Here you will find what assignments are coming up for the following week. Your teacher will provide a suggested pacing guide for your student to know which days to do certain assignments, to use as you wish.

Navigating Buzz: Help Guide For All Things Regarding Your Online Platform

What Should I Know About The Welcome Page?

This is where you access your courses! This is the first thing you see when you log in to Buzz. You can check your progress for the week for your work completion. You can click on one course at a time and go in to see what work you have assigned. OR if you click on “To-Do List” then you can see a list of all your assignments for the whole week all in one place.

What’s A Landing Page?

The Landing Page is the picture that is posted at the top of each individual course.

There is A LOT of super useful information in this “virtual room” that your teacher has made for you. Keep an eye out, because as the year goes on, your teacher might add more resources to this. Click around and explore to see all the information that is linked to this room. It’s all clickable!

What Do These Icons Mean? Blank paper means it is a LESSON. This is where you will read, practice, and learn. Check marks mean you will take a QUIZ. This is multiple choice. Just click START once you open this. Lines and a box mean you will need to submit your own copy of the assignment. This is likely a worksheet.

After you complete a lesson, quiz, or assignment, you will get a green check mark. This helps you so that you don’t do something twice! Also… it cheers you on to get more green check marks!

How Do I Know What To Do?

When you get to the last page of a lesson, it will tell you very specifically what your assignment is. Throughout the lesson, it will have given you a lot of other printables or worksheets to do… remember, those are just practice to assist you through your lesson. You will only turn in what is asked of you to turn in on the last page. If you see the printer icon, that means it is a worksheet that you need to complete. You have some options here… 1) Print it out, complete it, take a photo, and upload the photo 2) Open the document, look at it, and write down the answers on a piece of paper in your notebook, take a photo, and upload the photo 3) If you have found another approach that works well for you and your teacher, do that!

How Do I Know What To Do? (Cont.) In addition to finding the assignment on the last page of lesson, the worksheet is ALSO linked on the submission page AND in the Week-at-a-Glance that comes in your newsletter. So just go to the assignment that is due, open it, click on the big text that says, “click here for worksheet”, print/download/look at the worksheet, then upload your response.

Check in the Weekly Newsletter on the Week-at-aGlance page for direct links to worksheets. →

How Do I Submit My Work? If you are submitting an assignment, such as a worksheet, you will get a page that looks like this. You can upload 2 different ways… Either way, you will click the PLUS + SIGN.

1

2

Click the big white space, and it will bring up a bunch of different buttons. Click the image one to take a photo or upload a photo.

Click the blue circle plus sign and then click “Attach a File” and search your device for the file you saved. If you choose a Google document, make sure the privacy settings are public.

How Do I Take A Quiz?

Often, you will complete a quiz at the end of a lesson instead of submitting an assignment. Remember, the quiz icon is the one with the check box!

1 2

When you click the Quiz icon, this page will open. Click START. Answer each question and click SUBMIT. Remember, you can retake up to 3 times if you want.

Class Kick Your teacher MIGHT use Class Kick for assignment submission. If so, click the link. Type your name in the box and click GO.

Once you are in Class Kick, you can type or draw directly on the worksheet using the tools on the toolbar at the top. Use the arrow above the worksheet to navigate multiple pages of the assignment. Once you are done, just exit out –it saves automatically as you work! Go back to Buzz, and instead of submitting the worksheet –just type in the comment box that you used Class Kick!
