MARC BOLLING I FEEL AT HOME AT GATEWAY. When my wife and I first started attending in 2002, we didn’t have many close relationships, but we joined a group, and everything clicked after that. I finally felt like people didn’t just know of me, they knew me. Now, it’s like an awesome family reunion every time we come to church. MY MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. I was on a first date, and the zipper on my pants broke and wouldn’t zip up. I’m still shaking my head on that one. I was pretty young, and it was tough to deal with something like that. Thankfully, I was able to go home and change. I WAS SHOT IN THE ARM. I went deer hunting for the first time in 1991, and another hunter shot me from about 500 yards away. If the bullet was a fourth of an inch lower, I would’ve lost my arm, and if I had taken one step forward, it would’ve killed me instantly. That day, I fully surrendered to the Lord and what He was calling me to: full-time ministry. Needless to say, I haven’t been deer hunting since. MY FAVORITE SOUND IS LAUGHTER! Especially when it’s from my children. You know, the uncontrollable laughter of a one-year-old who can’t talk yet? It makes me smile on the inside and outside.
