Director update
Having successfully completed my Trust induction and first five days, I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to all those people I’ve met so far for how welcoming they’ve been, and to those who have kindly pointed me in the right direction when finding me wandering lost on the corridors of the hospital.
With my first day coinciding with the launch event for the Community Diagnostic Centre, being constructed at the Metrocentre, it was amazing to see how far the project, managed by the QE Facilities Capital Project Management Team, had come in only a couple of weeks giving some idea of the scale of the facility scheduled to open in Autumn of this year.
Closer to home it was great to spend some time with the QE Facilities Senior Management Team at our fantastic Spire House Logistics and Training Hub being shown the complexities of managing the national logistics service, including the real time mapping and monitoring systems, whilst also seeing the newly BILD accredited Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) team in action.
Moving into week two, my focus continues to be on getting to know the team, the site and the services we deliver.
I am really looking forward to meeting some of our members and Governors at the Community Services Medicine for Members event on Monday evening. Hopefully, I will see some of you there.
