Publisher’s Note

Welcome to 2025

In this issue we’re happy to bring to you articles to help you start the new year. But here are two fun “shout outs” I enjoyed coming across while preparing this issue.

Over the Christmas holiday I was able to enjoy the music of a young man performing at the Gaston Country Club holiday party, Elliott Morgan. He had command of the

Grill that evening and entertained us with his melodious sound.

And as someone who has worn corrective eyewear since college (glasses, contacts and now cataract lenses), cover profile, Maya’s collection of glasses is inspiring. While most people may think wearing this collection is for fashion, and believe me they are fashionable, wearing them for her is out of necessity with a twist. So, if you or someone you know has a phobia about wearing glasses take a page out of Maya’s book and become an eyewear fashionista and do you.

Happy New Year!

Elliott Morgan is a singer and songwriter from Spartanburg, SC specializing in genres ranging from country and classic rock to R&B, alt rock, folk, fingerstyle and more.

As a performer, Elliott's favorite thing is being the facilitator of a good time.

Oftentimes, solo acoustic performers are background music, but when members of the audience are actively enjoying the music and participating in the performance, this is when Elliott feels that he is in his element.

For booking opportunities, contact Elliott directly at ElliottMorganMusic@Gmail.com.

Breaking Barriers

The Inspiring Story of a Trailblazing Woman

Family Photographs by Maya

Although many strides have been made toward diversity and inclusion, Black female professionals still face countless challenges within their communities. As a selfproclaimed overcomer, Maya Feemster-Jones is on a mission to break the barriers of race and gender while forging her unique path to success. With great determination and resilience, she paints a vivid picture of what it truly means to be an agent of change.

Feemster-Jones grew up in Pinehurst Park, a part of the historic Highland Community in Gastonia, NC, where she was surrounded by a strong group of role models. Some of her neighbors included Judge Donald Earl Ramseur Sr., the first Black judge in Gaston County, Mr. Cleveland Taylor, the first Black postmaster for Gaston County, and Mr. Leslie and Mrs. Rosetta Lightner, who owned the first Black cab company in Gaston County. Each of these pioneering individuals contributed to an enriched learning experience.

“If I knew more about myself, then I could know more about how to help people like me and people, period.

Education was paramount in Feemster-Jones’ household; it was also non-negotiable. Her father, Dr. Clinton Feemster, was a bivocational pastor who also worked for the state, and her mother, Melicent Feemster, was a teacher at Rhyne Elementary School, where Feemster-Jones began her formative years of education. During that time, reading became an outlet for her. “I was always a nerdy kind of girl. I never quite fit in, but I could travel in and out of time and wherever I wanted to go through a book, in places that I felt uncomfortable in,” she says.

Feemster-Jones’ journey through middle school and high school was fraught with discomfort as she endured the social injustice of racial discrimination. Those harrowing experiences made her crave authentic connections in an institute that could encourage her to grow culturally. She attended a historically Black college—Winston-Salem State University, in Winston-Salem, NC—which strengthened her resolve. There, she found her voice and calling to live a life dedicated to service.

“If I knew more about myself, then I could know more about how to help people like me and people, period. When I say people, period, I mean people marginalized. So, there

grew a passion for people who had differences. Whether it was gender, race, learning abilities, socioeconomic status, or religious differences, I just wanted to create, foster, and cultivate an environment that was neutralizing for people and could empower them to live their best lives,” says Feemster-Jones.

She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Gardner-Webb University. She also obtained a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University-Portland. Driven by a strong desire to help others, she began working at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC, as a program counselor for The Student Support Services (TRiO) program, which offers federally-funded programs for first-generation college students, low-income students, and students with disabilities.

During that time, she lived in Bessemer City in Gaston County. She had recently remarried and was navigating the challenges of raising a blended family that included two biological children—an infant and a seven-year-old—and two stepchildren. The daily commute from Bessemer City to Salisbury began to take a toll on her. She was eager to find a job closer to home to prioritize her family. As she had previously worked with marginalized individuals, she chose to become a victim advocate for the Rape Crisis Center of Gaston County. While there, she worked with victims of sexual assault and their families and also victims of domestic violence. It was a taxing occupation because it took her to places she never could have imagined and forced her to learn about things she wouldn’t have otherwise. However, it also allowed Feemster-Jones to write grants and work within victim services within the state. She became skilled at advocating for

policy change on a local level. She also learned what taking it to a government level meant by seeking change, going to courtrooms, and standing before the district attorney, asking them to accept cases and advocate. Her greatest proficiency, though, may have been her ability to listen actively.

“I always created a space for people to be heard; sometimes that’s all that people needed. Sometimes, you need to listen, and people need to share and tell their stories. Even if the outcome is unfavorable, at least they know that someone fought for them or cared enough to listen to their story. When you listen, you empower people to know that somebody believes in them. Because they may not be articulate, or they may not have the highest level of education, or they may not be dressed the best, or may feel dismissed, overlooked, or invisible, I tried to listen at different levels, affirming their feelings and letting them know they had a safe space,” shares Feemster-Jones.

She advocated for the Rape Crisis Center for two years before joining forces with Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont in Charlotte, NC, where she continued to be a voice for the underserved. As a program manager for economic mobility, she helped serve more than two hundred individuals and their families for over three years and worked with them to increase their financial mobility and perpetuate generational wealth—helping them to overcome barriers to mental health, providing health services with the Charlotte Community Health Clinic, and making sure they had holistic services.

As a person of great integrity rooted in church values, Feemster-Jones’ call to serve others has always been spiritual. She was drawn to ministry during her senior year at Winston-

Salem State University. However, it wasn’t until three years ago that she began preaching at Pisgah Baptist Church in Bessemer City, where her father still preaches at 73 years old. She is the first woman of her church to be licensed and ordained. She is also a second-year seminary student in a Doctor of Ministry program at Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC. The road to ministry hasn’t always been easy for Feemster-Jones, as she has had to tolerate severe gender discrimination within her community. Nevertheless, her strong belief in herself and her faith continue to fuel her vision for the future of women in ministry.

“I stand in who I am even if I’ve stood with tears, which many times I have. I’m sure that I will continue to stand with tears as I fight to live in a world that’s not always fair as I stand. Some people will not even call me reverend by my ordination because they don’t believe in women ministers, or women preachers, or women pastors. I stand because I believe that God has called me, and if God is before me, then God stands with me wherever I go, and when I stand, God is standing, too. I envision ministry as a place where everybody can serve, where every woman can stand, whether she is accepted or not,” she says.

Feemster-Jones’ willpower is a testament to her commitment to achieving long-term goals, including personal goals. In 2017, she embarked on a fitness quest and was determined to make significant lifestyle changes. She was dealing with hypertension and pre-diabetes and found herself at the doctor’s office more frequently due to her blood pressure and migraines. With help from her doctor and her nutritionist, she was able to lose more than 100 lbs. since her journey began in 2018. She has maintained her weight for the past five years by making healthy choices and remaining dedicated to her fitness routine.

Life is a balancing act for Feemster-Jones. She juggles many roles with grace by setting rigid boundaries. She leaves work at work unless it’s an emergency and doesn’t set unrealistic expectations for herself. No means no, and she’s not afraid to say so anymore.

When she’s not at work, school, or ministry, she’s taking care of her family or serving in one of the three organizations she’s in: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; the Piedmont (NC) Chapter of The Links, Inc.; the Gastonia Piedmont Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. They are all volunteer service organizations rooted in friendship, service, and philanthropy.

Feemster-Jones currently works in Technology for Wells Fargo. Before her role at Wells Fargo, she was Site Director for the leading national nonprofit, Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO). She is also an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach through the Coaching and Positive Psychology (CaPP) Institute and has seven designations of coaching. She holds a core competency certificate from the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program and a victim service practitioner certificate from the North Carolina Victim Assistance Network.

Even with her demanding schedule, Feemster-Jones still finds time for fashion. Her signature style is a fabulous set of funky eyeglasses; she has over 40 pairs. Her jobs have always required her to adhere to strict dress codes, so her nontraditional eyewear is a nod to who she is outside of her vocation and ministry—someone who embraces her individuality and is unapologetic in her authenticity. “Whatever path in life you choose, let it be your choice, and stand in it. When I say stand in it, I mean own it, and when I say own it, I mean live it and love it!” Emphasizes Feemster-Jones.

A Year of Growth, Community, and Milestones

The Gaston Business Association (GBA) is proud to reflect on a year of accomplishments, growth, and collaboration that highlights the vibrant business community of Gaston County.

As we celebrate the achievements of 2024, and look forward to the opportunities of 2025, we recognize the people and initiatives that made it all possible.

This year, the GBA hosted an incredible 138 events, engaging over 4,000 attendees. These events, from networking opportunities to workshops and forums, showcased the best of what Gaston County has to offer: innovation, connection, and a shared vision for progress.

improvements in Gastonia, serve as tangible reminders of what collaboration can achieve.

A cornerstone of our success this year was our strong partnerships. We proudly collaborated with Gaston College to launch the Manufacturing Academy, addressing workforce development needs in one of the county’s most vital industries. Additionally, our role as an official partner in shaping Downtown Gastonia has led to the development of a strategic revitalization plan aimed at fostering commerce, culture, and connection. The GBA also strengthened its advocacy efforts, maintaining close ties with state legislators to ensure the voices of Gaston County businesses are heard loud and clear in Raleigh.

Among the highlights were the launch of our Minority Business Council programming, the debut of the Small Business Expo, and the continued success of Leadership Gaston, now operating at full capacity and bolstered by its first-ever alumni summit.

Our advocacy efforts remain at the forefront of our mission. While the Belmont Transportation Bonds Campaign didn’t achieve the desired outcome, it underscored the GBA’s commitment to infrastructure improvements and engaging the community in meaningful discussions about Gaston County’s future. Meanwhile, past bond initiatives, such as the completion of Belmont Middle School and ongoing road

Our achievements would not be possible without the dedication of our Investors. This year, 82 new Investors joined the GBA, underscoring the growing trust in our mission to empower local businesses. Their feedback has been crucial in shaping our programs and services, and we remain committed to continuous improvement as we work to build a thriving Gaston County.

Honoring Excellence

The 2024 Annual Celebration provided the perfect platform to honor the individuals and businesses that have shaped our year. We extend heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, including CaroMont Health, Enbridge Gas and many others, for their unwavering support.

The celebration also recognized several outstanding individuals whose contributions have left an indelible mark on our community:

• Dot Guthrie, recipient of the Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award, was celebrated for her transformative work as Co-Founder and Curator of the African American Museum of History & Culture at Loray Mill. Her decadeslong commitment to education, literacy, and cultural heritage has enriched Gaston County immeasurably.

Here’s to another year of growth, success, and collaboration as we continue to make Gaston County the best place to live, work, and grow.

• Dr. Jenna Stover, honored with the Aurora Award (presented by South State Bank), embodies excellence, creativity, and service in dentistry. A Gaston County native, she is a fifth-generation dentist who actively gives back through programs like NC Missions of Mercy and Give Kids A Smile.

• May Barger, recipient of the Athena Award (presented by South State Bank), was recognized for her dedication to public art and community development. A leader in initiatives such as the “Run for the Money” event, May continues to inspire through her advocacy for the arts and philanthropy.

• Christina Yandle , awarded the Athena Scholarship (presented by South State Bank) , exemplifies resilience and determination. A mother of eight and a Gaston College graduate, Christina is pursuing a Business Administration degree to serve as a role model for her children and community.

Leadership Transitions

As we transition into 2025, we extend our deepest gratitude to Kerri Massey, our outgoing Board Chair, whose vision and dedication have propelled the GBA to new heights. Incoming Chair, Rusty Harris, expressed his excitement for the year ahead, emphasizing the GBA’s continued focus on collaboration, innovation, and advocacy. Joining him are Jim Morasso (Vice Chair), John Forgan (Treasurer), and Melia Mauldin (Secretary)—a team poised to build on this year’s successes.

Looking Ahead

With a solid foundation in place, the GBA is ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities of 2025. From fostering inclusivity and supporting minority-owned businesses to strengthening ties with lawmakers and driving economic development, our mission remains clear: to empower Gaston County’s business community and create a thriving environment for all.

Together, we’ve accomplished so much. Here’s to another year of growth, success, and collaboration as we continue to make Gaston County the best place to live, work, and grow.

“The Facts of Life”

Actor Mackenzie Astin Reminisces About “The Facts of Life” and Working With George Clooney

Photographs Courtesy of Tony Miros. Mackenzie Astin & Gary Null/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank

You take the good….You take the bad….You take them both and there you have…The facts of life….The facts of life”

Wasn’t that one of your favorite TV theme songs growing up?

I can still hear that catchy tune as I watched Blair, Tootie, Natalie, Jo, and Andy learn life lessons on “The Facts of Life.” Remember Andy? He was the cute foster kid who joined the show in 1985, alongside a young George Clooney.

Created by Dick Clair and Jenna McMahon, “The Facts of Life” premiered in 1979 as a spin-off of “Diff’rent Strokes” on NBC. The show focused on Edna Garrett, played by Charlotte Rae, who served as housemother and dietitian at the fictional Eastland School, an all-girls boarding school in Peekskill, New York. In season five, Andy Moffett, played by Mackenzie Astin, became part of the cast, working at Edna’s Edibles and later at Over Our Heads.

In addition to “The Facts of Life”, he has had recurring roles on popular shows such as “Scandal,” “The Magicians,” and “Homeland.” He has also made guest appearances on notable series including “LOST,” “House,” “Psych,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “NCIS.” In film, Mackenzie appeared in several motion pictures, including “Iron Will” with Kevin Spacey, “Wyatt Earp” with Kevin Costner, “The Evening Star” with Shirley MacLaine, and Whit Stillman’s “The Last Days of Disco.”

Astin comes from an impressive lineage. He is the son of acclaimed actress Patty Duke, known for her role in “Valley of the Dolls,” and actor John Astin, famous for portraying Gomez in the iconic TV series “The

Addams Family.” Additionally, he is the brother of Sean Astin, best known for his memorable role as a hobbit in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Clearly, this family is rich in remarkable talent.

I recently had the pleasure of talking to Mackenzie, now 51 years old and residing in Los Angeles, CA. During our conversation we explored his journey on his beloved classic sitcom, his evolution from teen idol to a distinguished character actor, and the unique experiences he had working alongside Oscar winners such as Cloris Leachman and George Clooney.

Tony Miros: Tell me the origins of your character Andy Moffett on “The Facts of Life”.

Mackenzie Astin: I think the character as originally written or was supposed to be, you know, a young kid helping out around the shop. And the idea….you know, to appeal to a younger audience. The girls had aged slightly out of the original age range that they were in. Jo and Blair were in college or just starting college at that point. And Natalie and Tootie were just about to graduate from Eastland. So I think they were just looking for, you know, younger, fresher.

TM: That was a huge show. Was it a little hard to walk in and join that seasoned cast?

MA: They were all incredibly welcoming. They all sort of knew my dad because he had been a big guest star earlier that year. So it was immediately welcoming. And I think when you’re in the sixth year as a regular on a successful television show, things are going pretty well and so you don’t have much to complain about. I don’t think they were all altogether too bothered by the presence of another couple of you know, recurring characters.

TM: What was that like for a kid your age to now all of a sudden? I mean, you had fans, like instant fans. Like all of a sudden you were this star.

MA: It was great. It was fun. It was fantastic. It was exciting. It made me feel valued and appreciated and desirable. And I don’t mean that necessarily in a sexual way. I just mean like, like it made me feel great. It made me feel

Mackenzie Astin

terrific. It was like rewarding to the spirit. Oh, I am loved. I’m validated as a human being. Now, what is like absolutely corrupt about that, in my opinion, I have come to learn is that in a lot of ways it can be considered false and a magic trick.

TM: But do you think because your mother had been a child star and your parents were aware of the business that they could guide you in a way so that you didn’t become one of those child stars who went crazy and drugs and all of that stuff. Do you think that was helpful?

MA: 100%, absolutely. Yeah. The trail that my mom... broke for us made a huge difference in terms of decisionmaking and how one comports themselves in the public eye. The work that she put in, there’s an expression that we stand on the shoulders of the people that came before us. And she absolutely gave us a great advantage in terms of how to navigate the mind field that can be success in showbiz.

TM: So you’re on “The Facts of Life”. You were recurring in season six, but then season seven, you became a cast member. And also another young actor became a cast member who became a huge movie star. What’s his name?

MA: Yes. Curly hair. He’s married to a lawyer.

TM: Yeah, him. (laughs)

MA: Yeah. So George Clooney shows up for season seven and the whole all of Sunset Gower (Studios) falls on its face in love…gaga…head over heels. Because like (he is) literally the coolest guy you will ever know in your life has arrived. And it was even back then he you could feel that there was something about him. He was just always...a standup individual, even when he was sitting down. (Laughs) He was just great. He was fun and funny and a great athlete. God, he had us all playing basketball out there. We’re gonna have a sweat between tapings that would drive, people would be like, “what are you? You had a bunch of makeup on, now it’s all over your shirt.” I’m like, “I don’t know, we were playing one-on-one.”

But that wasn’t the end of his career. After graduating high school, he went on to star in the Disney live action film “Iron Will” with Kevin Spacey and he had a very successful 45-year career as a character actor. Air Fryer Whole Chicken

It’s a protein-packed recipe

IDid you know you can air fry a whole chicken? It’s a game-changer, especially if you’re craving that crispy skin and juicy meat, without the hassle of roasting a chicken in the oven. This Air Fryer Whole Chicken recipe is not only easy, but also yields an incredibly

flavorful, and juicy chicken. It’s a protein-packed recipe that is also low-carb, and low in calories!

NOTE: Before you jump into this recipe, make sure your air fryer is at least 5.8 quarts or larger, to accommodate the size of the chicken.

• 1 (3 1/2 -4 1/2 lb.) whole chicken

• 1 1/8 teaspoon salt

• 1 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

• 1 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1 teaspoon onion powder

Ingredients

• 1 teaspoon paprika

• 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil

• 1/2 garlic bulb, top cut off

• 1 lemon, halved

• 3 sprigs fresh thyme and/or rosemary

1. Remove any innards from the chicken and pat both the inside and outside dry with paper towels.

2. Season the inside of the cavity with 1/8 teaspoon of salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.

3. Stuff the cavity with the garlic, lemon halves, and fresh herbs.

4. In a bowl, mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika.

5. Brush the outside of the chicken with olive oil.

6. Sprinkle the spice mixture all over the chicken, pressing gently to adhere.

7. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for five minutes.

8. Once preheated, spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray.

9. Place the chicken breast side down in the basket. If it’s touching the top coil, gently press down to fit. Air fry for 20 minutes at 400°F (200°C).

10. After 20 minutes, carefully flip the chicken. Air fry for another 35-40 minutes at 350°F (177°C), or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), at the thickest part of the chicken.

11. Allow to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Pet Care for the New Year

6 Resolutions for You and Your Pet!

New

Totalbond at Forestbrook -

The new year is here, and as we set resolutions for ourselves—more gym time, healthier eating, less screen time—it’s also the perfect opportunity to think about our furry friends. After all, our pets are part of the family, and their well-being is just as important. Whether you’re a proud pet parent to a playful puppy or a sassy senior cat, here are some ways to start the year off on the right paw for your pet.

1. New Year, New Routine!

It’s easy to slip into comfortable habits with our pets, but a fresh start means a fresh routine! Maybe it’s time to change up your dog’s walking route or introduce your cat to some new toys. Pets, just like us, thrive on variety. For dogs, mix up the walking spots to keep them mentally stimulated. For cats, maybe it’s time to add a new cat tree or some interactive puzzles. Small changes in their daily routine can have big benefits for their happiness.

2. Let’s Talk Health Goals!

Just like our own health resolutions, it’s important to focus on our pets’ wellness. A new year is the perfect time to

If you’re considering adding a new member to your pet family in 2025, consider adopting from a shelter. There are countless animals waiting for a loving home, and your new pet could be out there, just waiting for a chance.

schedule that overdue vet appointment. Regular check-ups help ensure that any potential issues are caught early, keeping your pet feeling their best. If your pet’s been a little on the heavier side, perhaps a diet plan or some extra playtime can help them shed a few pounds (and maybe you, too!). Remember, healthy pets are happy pets!

Dr. Emily Salmon

3. Get Moving with More Playtime

If you’ve been guilty of skipping that evening fetch session or cat-chasing laser pointer game, this is the year to commit! Playtime is crucial for keeping your pet mentally and physically stimulated. For dogs, think about trying a new activity like agility classes, hiking, or even swimming. Cats might enjoy climbing new cat trees or chasing a feather wand. Make 2025 the year of fun, whether it’s indoors or out.

4. Training Resolutions: Brush Up on Good Behavior

New Year’s resolutions are all about self-improvement, and your pet can benefit from a little refresher too. Whether it’s basic commands like “sit” or “stay” for dogs, or encouraging your cat to stop knocking things off counters, consistent training helps maintain good behavior and strengthens your bond. Positive reinforcement, patience, and a few tasty treats are key to making this year a more obedient!

5. Bonding Time: Quality Over Quantity

In the hustle and bustle of life, we sometimes forget that our pets crave quality time with us. This year, focus on deepening your connection with your pet. Whether it’s more couch cuddle time, dedicated walks, or simply sitting together in silence, pets love attention. Make 2025 the year you strengthen your bond with your furry companion, and both of you will enjoy the benefits.

6. Adopt, Don’t Shop

If you’re considering adding a new member to your pet family in 2025, consider adopting from a shelter. There are countless animals waiting for a loving home, and your new pet could be out there, just waiting for a chance. Shelters often have wonderful dogs, cats, and even rabbits in need of good homes. Giving a pet a second chance at life is a resolution with endless rewards.

Cheers

to the New Year!

As you sip your sparkling beverage or enjoy that first cup of coffee of the year, remember to raise a glass to your furry friend. 2025 is a fresh start, for both you and your pets. Whether you’re focusing on health, play, training, or simply giving your pet more love and attention, the new year is the perfect time to show them how much you care. So let’s make this year a wonderful one—for both you and your 4-legged friends.

A Look Back at 2024

And what lies ahead in 2025

The past year mirrored many of the themes seen in 2023. While there were moments of economic uncertainty, the U.S. economy once again proved resilient, surpassing expectations. The S&P 500 enjoyed its second consecutive year of over 20% returns, driven by robust advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and technology. These trends overshadowed headwinds like geopolitical tensions, election-related uncertainties, and historically high stock valuations.

Following the presidential election, investor optimism regarding potential market-friendly policies from the incoming administration provided an additional boost to stocks. Meanwhile, the bond market faced a more challenging landscape. Although the Federal Reserve initiated its longanticipated easing cycle, concerns about rising debt levels and policy ambiguity contributed to heightened bond market volatility without a clear directional trend.

What Lies Ahead in 2025

As 2025 begins, the investment landscape offers both reasons for caution and optimism.

1. Reasons for Caution:

•.. Market environments are never static, and the potential for change—whether from unexpected economic shifts or geopolitical disruptions—remains ever-present.

• Elevated stock valuations may temper future returns, particularly as economic growth moderates.

2. Reasons for Optimism:

• Long-term technological trends, particularly in AI and innovative industries, are firmly established and likely to drive sustained growth.

• Anticipated tax policy changes and deregulation from the new administration could serve as economic tailwinds, fostering business investment and consumer confidence.

Expectations for 2025

While the blockbuster equity returns of 2024 may be difficult to replicate, the broader investment environment remains favorable. Technology and innovation are poised to remain pivotal, driving growth and opportunity. At the same time, cautious Fed policy and potential fiscal adjustments

could create a stable backdrop for investors willing to navigate evolving market dynamics.

From a sectoral perspective, growth-oriented industries such as technology and healthcare may continue to lead, while undervalued areas like energy or industrials could gain traction if fiscal spending accelerates. For fixed-income investors, a nuanced approach may be necessary as bond market volatility persists, but easing monetary policy could provide selective opportunities.

Five gadgets Going Into 2025

The new AirPods Pro 2 from Apple

Pixel 9 Pro (with Gemini)

Made its debut back in September with a feature that promotes a meaningful difference in listening technology. In collaboration with the University of Michigan and the World Health Organization (WHO), these AirPods are “the first over-thecounter (OTC) hearing aid software device” authorized by the FDA. A product known for both noise cancellation and hearing health is certainly a game changer.

Garmin Enduro 3

For those who want a smartwatch with a focus on fitness and performance, we have the Garmin Enduro 3. This watch weighs only 63g and bolsters 320hrs of battery life because of its solar powered technology. Fitness enthusiasts, athletes and outdoor adventurers can all benefit from the various fitness tracking and premium GPS technologies it provides.

Ring Battery Doorbell Pro

Ring’s new Battery Doorbell Pro enhances our ability to view who’s visiting and to provide peace of mind of your surroundings. Upgrades include precise 3D Motion Detection and a greater line of sight with the “Head-to-Toe HD+” feature. The great thing about Ring’s battery powered line is the ease of setup while still having all the key features consumers want in a video doorbell device.

The newest smartphone is embedding AI into the device itself. The new Pixel 9 Pro by Google uses Gemini, Google’s flagship AI powered assistant, making it easier to have a natural conversation rather than the monotoned-forced commands we’re used to. This device also has an improved camera with 30x zoom, a “Night Sight” mode, and other picture and video enhancing features for those who love to be behind the lens.

Nintendo Switch 2

Not a product available today, but it has been rumored there will be a new version 2 release of the popular Nintendo Switch console. Numerous hints and shares on social media have Nintendo fans excited! It is expected that we should hear something during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 coming up in January. With the popularity of Mario and other loved characters we hopefully we can see the exciting new features that version 2 will have for us.

Technology will seamlessly integrate into our lives, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary with gadgets that anticipate and enhance our experiences.
