今⽇は僕にとって、皆さんの素晴らしい演奏を聞ける⼤切な⽇です。皆さんの絶え間ない努⼒が今⽇の⽇に、そして明⽇に繋がっています。今⽇素晴らしい結果を残せた⼈、緊張してしまいあまり上⼿くいかなかった⼈、⾊々いらっしゃると思います。しかし⾳楽はそれぞれが⼈⽣をかけて挑むとても⻑いプロジェクトです。⼤切なのは、今⽇何で上⼿くいったか？または今⽇何で上⼿くいかなかったか？をしっかり⾃分なりに分析することです。そうしていけば、明⽇からさらに明るい⾳楽⼈⽣が開けていくはずです。

⾳楽は⾯⽩くて平等な芸術です。⼈⼈もれなく、特別な才能があります。決して⼈と⽐べる事なく、⾃分にしかない⾳楽の才能を⼼から信じ、⼤切にしてさらなる⾶躍を願います。

Today is an important day for me, as I have the privilege of listening to your wonderful performances Your continuous efforts today will lead to tomorrow There may be some who achieved great results today and others who were nervous and did not do as well. However, music is a very long project that each person embarks on with their life What is important is to thoroughly analyze what went well today and what did not, according to your own perspective By doing so, a brighter musical journey should unfold from tomorrow

Learning music is a lifelong journey and these wins will build over time During an interview with 95 year old cellist Pablo Casals, he was asked “Mr Casals, you are 95 and the greatest cellist that ever lived Why do you still practice 6 hours a day? He replied, “Because I think I’m making progress” I love his answer because it shows that we all have more room to learn and grow This is the wonderful thing about music There is so much to learn and so much beauty we can bring to the world with our music

I learned piano and violin when I was about 5 years old, and started learning harp when I was 6 years old Due to the impact of covid-19, I didn’t have the opportunity to officially perform on stage until I was 7 years old During this period, I also participated in some online competitions and actual music competitions! I am also very grateful that because of this international music competition, our family has been able to visit Tokyo Disneyland and Asakusa Kaminji,etc.whichwereeye-opening.

Can you share your initial reaction when you found out you were selected as the Finalist for this competition?

I was very surprised and excited because I was able to travel from Hong Kong toJapantoexperiencethecompetitionatmosphere,whichwasinvaluable

Which music piece did you play in the competition? Are there any challenges you faced and how you overcome them?

The song I am participating in this time is "Country Dance" I need to practice it repeatedly, strive for opportunities to perform on stage before the competition, and participate in moremusiccompetitionsorganizedbydifferentorganizations

Is there anyone you would like to thank or acknowledge for their support and guidance in your musical journey?

I would like to especially thank my parents for their dedicated cultivation "Harp music" ( 豎琴家族 ) takes great care of their students and tries their best to cultivate each student so that every student has the opportunity to dance towards their dreams In addition, I also want to thank me My mentor ~ Teacher Hannah’s gentleness, persuasion, careful teaching, and uninterrupted support and encouragement allowed me todevelopmyselfwithloveandconfidence!

Can you describe a memorable moment from your trip to Tokyo and participating in the competition?

This is my first time leaving Hong Kong to participate in an open music competition outside of Hong Kong. It is also my first time traveling to Tokyo. Everything is new and exciting. My parents did not arrange a special travel itinerary They just hope that I will try my best to participate in the competition They announced that they won the third place The news made us all surprised and happy, and the school was notified immediately, which gave me recognition and encouragement, giving me more confidence and strength to continue workingonmusic!

I started to play violin when I was five years old. I used to watch Midori Goto's performance because I really enjoyed listening to her amazing music Her performance gave me a musical interest to start playing violin The more I enjoy playingviolin,themoreIimprovealot.

Can you share your initial reaction when you found out you were selected as the Finalist for this competition?

My family and I were very shocked and felt incredible how I accomplished this And I felt that I should never stop my musical journey and practice My family and I thought that it would be a great experience and motivation to perform in the YotsuyaCivicHall

Which music piece did you play in the competition? Are there any challenges you faced and how you overcome them?

I played 2nd movement of "Symphonie Espagnole" composed by Édouard Lalo The challenges were the musicality and bow techniques. Compared to the other movements, the 2nd movement is especially delicate sound and sometimes bold sound The variations of dynamics were very difficult to differentiate because the bowneedstobelightandthewristhastobeasflexibleaspossible. TheonlywayIcouldovercomethesechallengesisby practicingeverydayandthinkingahead

Is there anyone you would like to thank or acknowledge for their support and guidance in your musical journey?

I would love to thank my family, especially my mom because she always supports and motivates me to play violin continuously And my violin teacher Ms Sophie Rowell, who has been my mentor since I was twelve Her insightful musical advice and detailed teachings have enhanced my musicality and technique, and motivating me to pursue my musical journey

I started to play violin when I was five years old I used to watch Midori Goto's performance because I really enjoyed listening to her amazing music Her performance gave me a musical interest to start playing violin The more I enjoy playing violin, the more I improve a lot

Can you share your initial reaction when you found out you were selected as the Finalist for this competition?

Which music piece did you play in the competition? Are there any challenges you faced and how you overcome them?

I played 2nd movement of "Symphonie Espagnole" composed by Édouard Lalo The challenges were the musicality and bow techniques Compared to the other movements, the 2nd movement is especially delicate sound and sometimes bold sound The variations of dynamics were very difficult to differentiate because the bow needs to be light and the wrist has to be as flexible as possible The only way I could overcome these challenges is by practicing every day and thinking ahead

Is there anyone you would like to thank for their support and guidance in your musical journey?

I would love to thank my family, especially my mom because she always supports me and gives me advice that motivates me to play violin continuously I would also like to thank my only violin teacher, Ms Sophie Rowell Ms Rowell has been my first-ever violin teacher since I was twelve years old The reason I could improve my musicality and techniques is because of her musical advice and her detailed teachings She always motivates me to continue my musical journey

Repertoire: 我是李妮，今年11歲，我從6歲開始學⾳樂，⼩學年級進⼊⾼雄市⽴⿎⼭區中⼭國⼩就讀，加⼊了學校的新希望樂團，當時抱著好奇的⼼態學習，頻繁接觸了許多⼤提琴著名演奏曲後，去年也參加⾺友友在台灣⾼雄舉辦的現場演奏會，我便深深地愛上⼤提琴的悠揚琴聲，讓我完全投⼊在美好的⾳樂世界裡。事實上開始學習過程並不輕鬆，⼤提琴的琴弦很硬，拉奏的時候需要控制好⼒道，對於個6歲的我來說，⼿指無⼒，拿⼸的姿勢也不正確，我的⼿指經常發紅起⽔泡，但是我的⼤提琴指導⽼師總是在⾝旁⿎勵我不要放棄，所以我直很感謝我的指導⽼師，總是在我快要放棄的時候給我⽀持的⼒量。這次⾮常榮幸能通過初賽，代表台灣到⽇本東京參加總決賽，感謝GASCA主辦單位，讓我有機會向各國優秀的選⼿學習和交流，希望能在這次的國際⽐賽中獲得不錯的成績與榮耀。
