Welcome to summer at Garden of the Gods Resort and Club! We are very much looking forward to another fun-filled summer and this year, our summer will be jam-packed with fun activities for young and old. The team at Garden of the Gods Resort and Club is delighted to bring back some of your favorite events and summer activities and some exciting new additions to bring you and your families even more summer fun!

We are pleased to share our partnership with the Garden of the Gods Park Visitor’s Center this season, where you can sign up for any of their offerings, directly through our resort and membership concierge. I encourage you to learn more on page 8 of this brochure.

From our traditional events such as the Memorial Days festivities, our 4th of July Weekend, and Music Under the Stars, we are also dedicated to bringing you weekly free activities that are fun for the whole family. These will be available every week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I would like to highlight the Wind-Down Wednesday’s, weekly at the Recreation Pool from 5PM – 8PM, with games and specials from our culinary team.

This year, our summer camps bring a variety of activities and we are pleased to introduce three new camps, Mission to Mars Camp, Colorado Springs Adventure Camp, and an offering through Pikes Peak Athletics, Swimming Camp. Swimming lessons are returning and will be available at the Recreation Pool.

SCAVENGER HUNT

Check in with the Resort Concierge to sign up and discover the property like never before with our new Scavenger Hunt! You will be looking for clues and treasure during your discovery of Garden of the Gods Resort and Club property, executing fun activities, and learning about the many features of the resort along the way! There are a total of 9 different stops and it takes about 30-45 minutes to complete.

COMPLIMENTARY GUIDED NATURE WALK

Leaving promptly at 10:15AM, our driver will take all participants from the resort to the visitor’s center to join the daily guided nature walk. This nature walk follow the mostly paved Gateway Trail to the paved Central Garden Trail. Participants are encouraged to continue to survey the garden or may return to the visitor’s center with the guide where the shuttle will bring you back to the resort.

RATTLESNAKES EXPERIENCE

Join park docent and rattlesnake enthusiast, Jane Gasko, to learn about the most misunderstood reptile in the American west. Make your way to the GOG Visitor’s Center to participate.

BIG HORN SHEEP EXPERIENCE

Join us to learn more about our state mammal and possibly look for these monarchs of the mountain. The view is far, so binoculars or spotting scopes are encouraged. This program is presented by park docent, Michelle McMurray. Make your way to the GOG Visitor’s Center to participate.

Come discover your inner chef and put your ingenuity to the test during our Cooking Camp! Each child will receive and decorate their own chef’s hat and apron to use throughout the week while cooking and baking with our very own chefs!

Your kiddos will have the opportunity to practice skills in the kitchen that are essential, such as knife skills, kitchen etiquette, baking, cooking, and decorating!

Learn to express your creativity like never before! Watercolor, oil pastels, paper mâché, and more! Throughout the week, we’ll visit the Garden of the Gods Nature Center for hiking and experiencing the creativity that exists in nature while documenting what we see to create a piece inspired by our observations. We’ll also translate nature into art by painting the rocks how we see them. This camp will take place outside, so bring water, sunscreen, and get ready to create!

Cultivate a love for photography while learning how to properly use a professional camera! We will learn about composition and creative tips and tricks with the skill level tailored to each age group. Each day will consist of one hour of instruction, one hour practicing photo taking, and one hour to share favorite photos with the class and review concepts. The week will conclude with a ‘show and tell’, during which the favorite photos of the week will be displayed!

This class is taught by Maria Bay, owner of Casa Bay Photography. The adult class will include light refreshments and a sunset experience.
