JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT APPOINTS PRIMARY PROGRAMME MANAGER Junior Achievement Isle of Man has appointed Lisa Morris primary programme manager.
LASENBY KNOX BOLSTERS TEAM WITH FURTHER SENIOR HIRE Lasenby Knox continues its pattern of recent growth by appointing Christina Skelly APFS, CertPFS (DM) as a Chartered Financial Planner, and Rachel Stynes as client relationship manager. Having obtained the gold standard within her profession in December 2014, Christina brings more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector, having previously worked in relationship management, banking and financial advisery roles. Christina spent 10 years of her financial planning career with two major high street banking institutions, before joining the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission, now Isle of Man Financial Services Authority, as a manager within the funds and investment services team. She joins the team at Lasenby Knox from her previous role as a senior financial consultant with Edgewater Associates Limited. Commenting on her new role, Christina said: “I’m extremely pleased to join the team at Lasenby Knox. The business is growing at a significant pace and I was very much drawn to the culture, traditional values and the bespoke approach it offers to clients.
‘This is the job I’ve always wanted,’ said Lisa who will be working in all the island’s primary schools delivering, with volunteer support, the Junior Achievement ‘Our World’ programme to year 6 children.’ Originally from Yorkshire, Lisa has lived on the island for 17 years and comes from an accountancy and financial background. She added that for her new role she would be drawing on her communication and time managements skills born out of the ‘logistical and organisational demands of being a mother of four children aged between eight and 14.’

SEA CADET APPOINTED CADET TO RTC CHAIRMAN Ordinary Sea Cadet Samantha Hassall has been appointed cadet to the chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners, Richard Radcliffe. The appointment, a first for the Commission, will see 15-year-old Samantha provide guard of honour support to Mr Radcliffe when carrying out his civic engagements. Samantha, who lives in Laxey and is a student at Ramsey Grammar School, recently served at the Commissioners’ civic Sunday service and at the town’s Remembrance Sunday service when she accompanied the chairman to lay a wreath on behalf of Ramsey Town Commissioners and her brother, William, laid a wreath on behalf of the personnel of HMS Ramsey at the Courthouse gardens cenotaph.

Abacus, locally based fiduciary and fund services group with an office in Malta, has appointed Samantha Snow to VAT Specialist in its Malta office as part of its ongoing plans to strengthen the group’s yacht proposition and its expansion in Malta. Ms. Snow has over 15 years’ experience specialising in VAT and Indirect Tax matters, having worked with domestic and international clients across a diverse range of sectors including the Yachting, Remote Gaming, Financial Services and Property and Construction industries. Her role will be to lead the Abacus group’s VAT proposition across the Isle of Man and Malta, working closely with the Abacus Yachts team. ON THE AGENDA
