3D cartography of the entire city of São Paulo is available on GeoSampa.

With the new platform update, citizens will be able to visualize buildings, trees and works of art in a threedimensional way on the digital map of the city.

• Data were obtained through an aerial survey carried out between May and July 2017 using laser technology.

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging).

• The technology does not just present a satellite image or area photograph of the territory, but a high-resolution geometric representation of the city.

Initial research: Five different areas in São Paulo (Brazil) This research carried out an evaluation of the potential impacts that different morphological compositions of consolidated urban areas can cause on the local microclimate conditions during hot days perceived on the pedestrian scale, based on simulations of the thermal conditions of open urban spaces exemplifying neighborhoods in the city of São Paulo.

Using 3D Modeling: applying analytical and simulation tools The results of the evaluations of five different models, comparing their different occupation aspects, allowed verifying that the morphological conditions are capable of contributing to the alteration of the main thermal variables of the open urban space and pedestrian thermal comfort index.

In the studied models, it was found that, the greater density and verticalization, the milder the thermal conditions of open urban spaces during the daytime, due to the shading caused by the buildings, and the air temperature values at night are higher, due to the higher emission of long-wave radiation by the urban canyon at night
