Observation analysis and the custom tools behind his largescale projection mapping artworks were discussed during yesterday’s Creative Keynote by multimedia artist Quayola.
He also shared his journey from fine art student to his recent work, including his digital artwork performances at Casa Batlló and on the Fira South Access Welcome Screen this week.
“Most of what I’ve explored in recent years is developing new types of pictorial gesture and custom software in which I can generate control and interact in real time. All of the data that I am able to extract from these captures, that is what is driving these simulations,” he said.
“Part of what I do really relates to looking at the world differently. I employ technology almost as a collaborator, to try and enhance some of my observations. My work really is not
about a kind of lived experience, but rather a different reading of the world where machines provide new opportunities to discover new aesthetics and new observations.”

Many in the digital signage industry aren’t taking security seriously, deplored Florian Rotberg, managing director of invidis Consulting, as he chaired the ‘Cybersecurity Panel: Navigating cybersecurity risks in digital signage’ session at the
Digital Signage Summit.
The major 2024 CrowdStrike outage was a strong wake-up call for many, but it did not come as a surprise to Jeff Hastings, CTO of BrightSign, who described it as a great example of not dealing with a problem by putting layers of software on top of it. “This industry must figure out how
to take the problem down the software stack,” he said.
“You should never think of digital signage as a siloed function,” said Christopher Timmins, director of marketing and partnerships at Intel Corporation. “It’s fully integrated as an extension of IT assets across the enterprise, and its security and
remote manageability is key.”
Jason Cremins, founder and CEO of Signagelive believes AI will make it easier to operate secure networks. “Used in the right way, these tools allow platforms to provide information you can act upon, it’s not a silver bullet but it can help us spot things a lot quicker,” he said.

Installing broadcast-quality facilities to serve the corporate world presents new challenges, outlined in a case study presented at yesterday’s AV Broadcast Summit.
Maya Shokor, key accounts manager at integrator First Gulf Company, joined Hasan R Sayed Hasan, MD at consulting firm Master Media, to demonstrate how their team addressed location and financial constraints, as well as the technological experience gap, during a recent project to install broadcast facilities for a corporate client.
The session, ‘How to Build a
Corporate Media Center’ presented their specialised approach. “We had to simplify where there were nuanced narratives so clients understood,” said Shoker.
“A lot of corporate clients are coming into this [AV broadcast] trend and because they are outsourcing with so much different content creation, they are forced to have their own on-site studio and production houses,” Shokor added.
She concluded that delivery requires more than diverse skill sets: “We have to be more flexible and understand that they are not technical people so we can move forward and deliver.”

Creativity can and should be taught, according to Emily Patterson, learning designer at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, who used her time on the Education Technology Summit stage to put the audience through its paces with short exercises to test their metacognition skills and cognitive bias.
These tasks were some of many that can be found in the Creativity, Problem-Solving and Design Thinking course she designed, available on the Cambridge Advance Online platform, a commercial project for professional development
by the University of Cambridge in partnership with Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
“The fourth core skill on the World Economic Forum 2025 future jobs report list is ‘creative thinking’, for 57% of employers surveyed,” said Patterson. “Of the top 10 skills listed, very little have to do with AI, technology, data and the buzzwords we are seeing coming across education policy right now.”
She added that there is a need for people who are agile in their thinking and can approach problems in different ways. “This isn’t something that is frequently taught in traditional education, but it’s possible to teach creativity,” she concluded.
Flying high with the launch of its new enterprise-level light show drone, Uvify’s IFO-V boasts a brace of stand-out features. With a developing need to counter the effects of signal jammers, Uvify says it is the only swarm light show drone with jam-proof capabilities, helping to combat something that is becoming an increasing problem across the world. In addition, at 1,000 lumens, it also claims to have the brightest LEDs available, achieved via a partnership with lighting specialist Osram.
The company is also promoting its new Fleet Augmentation Bank (FAB), enabling operators to produce bigger shows without the heavy capital investment of purchasing drone stock. With FAB warehouses across North America and Europe, and with more on the way, Uvify is making thousands of IFO
drones available to rent to partners; the company says it is the only drone company with this capability.
Robert Cheer, COO, Uvify, said: “It’s more than a rental network because you have the weight of Uvify to not only provide the hardware, but also to support the design and implementation of the event.”

Bringing Funktion-One performance to domestic listening as well as applications such as studio monitoring, retail, bars and restaurants, Funktion-One’s compact new F61 loudspeaker is the company’s smallest twoway speaker and makes its global debut at ISE.
Benefitting from Funktion-One’s minimalist approach to passive crossover design, it achieves the company’s signature midrange sound with a custom 6in midrange driver, while its Funktion-One-designed waveguide delivers high frequencies to 20kHz. Meanwhile, flared bass reflex ports minimise turbulence and maximise the refined cabinet tuning.
Tony Andrews, owner, Funktion-One, said: “The F61 sits in between the F81 and the F5; it’s as compact as the F5 but it has that gorgeous tweeter. Because of the way we design the drivers, it converts 4-6dB more amplifier energy for the same amount of input than anything else. We don’t use processing
to get this result; it’s all in the driver design, which is exactly where it should be.”
The F61 combines with the SB8A or SB10A
Europe’s leading projector provider (by value) is to enter the LED display market for the first time, with a new line of Intel SDM-enabled screens that will start to ship in May.
The Panasonic displays will be available as 110, 137 and 165in 1.2, 1.5 and 1.9mm pixel-pitch models. They are claimed to be the first LED displays to be fully AV-over-IP ready as they feature dual Intel SDM slots for integration with various proprietary or third-party AVoIP function boards. They also boast brightness of up to 700cd/sqm.
Panasonic says its LED displays are “lighter and thinner than conventional displays”, increasing installation flexibility. They will be shipped semi-assembled with mounting hardware, so they can be easily installed and used immediately with an HDMI cable.
Jan Markus Jahn, SVP and director, Media Entertainment Business Division, Panasonic Connect Europe, said: “We are dedicated to leading the move to AV-over-IP with SDM in every product, with a lot of partnerships with other companies in this area.” SDM “reduces system costs and enhances sustainability”, he added.
The company is also launching a new FMP and SDM media player and a 40K-lumen projector (coming in 2026). The media player will be “a significant advance in supporting customer workflows for multi-projector and multi-display environments”, said Jahn. – david fox eu.connect.panasonic.com

Aisle be hearing from you, clearly
Traditionally the only way to clearly hear announcements in the long aisles and concourses of warehouses, supermarkets, malls or hotels has been to have multiple speakers covering the space. Now, Biamp’s new CCA-80 loudspeaker can do that in one.
David Woolf, head of marketing, Biamp, said: “The challenge with this is sound can bounce all around and you get inconsistent audio.”
The CCA-80’s design shoots the audio down the aisle
“to deliver a really consistent sound”, thanks to its triaxial design with a three-way, 8in asymmetric horn that keeps the audio at a consistent volume, even down a long aisle. It has an asymmetric vertical waveguide with up to 6:1 throw ratio for extended coverage, while its unique coverage patterns provide extended distance without significant cost escalation.
There is also a dual-speaker option that provides additional mounting flexibility for having two speakers pointing in different directions. – david fox www.biamp.com
A prototype version of Vestel’s Flare Series of signage displays is being shown as a 55in screen (the most popular size), but will be available as 32-, 43-, 50-, 65- and 75in displays when it ships in Q3. It is based on affordable Slim D-LED technology, designed for 24/7 operation. The unit is also much slimmer than its
predecessor, being just 12mm deep at the edge compared to 65mm previously.
Other features include: up to 700-nits brightness; an enhanced colour gamut; 4GB RAM and 32GB storage; a slim bezel; an embedded ambient light sensor; WiFi 6 connectivity; SDM and NUC support; and it runs on the Android 13 platform.
Also new is an Ultra High Bright Professional Display for storefronts and window-facing applications. It will be available as a 55in screen initially, “but we’re taking customer feedback at ISE to see if people want other sizes”, said Onur Cetinler, product manager, Vestel. It uses D-LED technology, runs on Android and supports third-party CMS apps. It also has an ambient light sensor, “so in bright environments it increases its brightness”.

BLACKMAGIC DESIGN | STAND: 4R500
An acquisition, control and delivery solution from Blackmagic Design has recently been used on the UK and European leg of Glass Animals’ Tour of Earth, delivered by independent video technology company 80six.
“With the creative concept for the tour already established, our job was to bring this vision to life on stage through the LED screens,” said Jack James, co-founder and director of 80six.
The core setup across the different stops of
the tour included a fleet of Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 cameras utilising SPMTE fibre chains positioned around the stage and front of house, accompanied by several PTZ cameras and Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2s for close up and low angle shots.
“We paired the URSA Broadcasts with UHDDigisuper 90 and HD22 parfocal lenses which were able to maintain focus while zooming in and out. Likewise, the remote camera control functionality and comms integration of the URSAs further added to the ease of operation,” said Samuel Siegel, racks engineer, 80six.
Video, power and comms to and from the cameras relied on more than 150m of SMPTE fibre cable running to a portable production unit backstage, built around the ATEM 2 M/E Constellation 4K live production switcher and an ATEM Camera Control Panel for remote camera shading. ISE 2025 - Demo Room E8
The winners of the 2025 Stand Design Awards will be announced today during a ceremony on the Smart Home Technology Stage in Hall 2, starting at 16:30.
Created by Integrated Systems
Europe to acknowledge ISE exhibitors and their stand-design efforts, the Stand Design Awards are managed solely by EXHIBITOR magazine. Every stand on the ISE showfloor is automatically
entered in to the free competition and has been judged on site during the show to create a list of finalists in each of four size-based categories.
A group of enowned designers
and marketers have been judging the finalists on site, assessing the stands against criteria including how effectively the stand communicates the name and purpose of the exhibiting company, product or brand, how it delivers an on-trend and/ or impactful overall presence, and how it employs the allotted space and scale to convey key messages.
Four awards will be presented this evening, best Small (30sqm or less), Medium (31-69sqm), Large (70-249sqm) and XL (250sqm or more) stand.
ABRAXYS will also be presenting the Better Stands Programme, an initiative that aims to reduce the use of single-use disposable stands at exhibitions in favour of reusable structures.
The Stand Design Awards take place today at 16:30 on the Smart Home Technology Stage in Hall 2.
In addition to hosting the Stand Design Awards this afternoon, the Smart Home Technology Stage in Hall 2 (2F350) will also be exploring topics including sustainability and the relationship between integrators and architects.
The free-to-attend sessions begin at 10:00 with CEDIA’s Imogen Dent delving into the beneficial friendship between integrators and architects.
Sony’s Chris Mullins and Adam Dover will debate how sustainability is transforming AV at a time when technology advances are accelerating and the demand for quality consumption is increasing.
Finally, Michael Heiss of M Heiss Consulting and Rich Green, founder, Rich Green Design, will close out sessions on the stage with the Thursday ISE wrap-up report, highlighting key talking points from across the show.

Looking for a job in AV? At ISE you’ll find an abundance of reasons to be optimistic of achieving your goal, as thousands of representatives from pro AV assemble to network, learn and view the latest technology in the systems integration and audiovisual industry – many of them also looking to hire new talent.
You’ve probably heard that attracting and retaining workers has been a challenge for employers across most industries, and pro AV is no exception. A shortage of qualified candidates, an increased demand for technical talent, and more competition from industries such as IT and construction are some of the factors creating hiring challenges in the pro-AV industry.
For newcomers to the industry, prospects are ripe for the picking. Employers recognise that attractive pathways are necessary to draw fresh talent and many offer not just exceptional rates of pay but support and mentorship to keep their employees engaged and help them thrive.
ISE provides the ideal platform to put motivated, work-ready jobseekers directly in touch with the recruiters and organisations they are keen to impress. If you’re looking to score an introduction, be sure to calendar AVIXA’s third annual matchmaking mixer, on ISE’s AV Career Day tomorrow. A dynamic and innovative session that brings jobseekers and employers/recruiters together for discussion, networking and informal interviews, the AVIXA event has become the place to find your first (or next) AV job and a convenient way to meet potential employers exactly where they’re at.
At last year’s matchmaking event, around 20 pro-AV companies
met with more than 100 jobseekers. This built on the success of the first event in 2023 where within two weeks of the show several jobseekers had been contacted for a second interview and many had already received a formal job offer.
“AV Career Day is an exceptional experience for people and students from all over Europe, as they have the chance to see with their own eyes what the AV industry is,” says Valeria Rapa, manager, Italy & member services, EMEA.
“They have the opportunity to go from theory to practice by meeting companies doing precisely what they studied about. It’s a great occasion to jump in and become part of one of their teams.”
AVIXA economist Peter Hansen discussed the benefits of a career in pro AV in a recent AVIXA Xchange article. He shared positive findings from the 2024 META: Pro AV Channel Employment Report, which summarises surveys of more than 5,000 international pro-AV respondents. It found that:
• Pro AV is a high-skill, highly paid field
• Pay raises are consistently high
• Pro-AV workers are satisfied with their jobs
• Formal education is less essential and certification is valued – and readily available through AVIXA’s internationally recognised Certified Technology Specialist, or CTS, programme.
The last point is important, particularly for newcomers to the industry, who may feel that a lack of formal education could be a drawback. Hansen notes that pro AV has weaker ties to traditional education than many other industries. So, while it can seem puzzling to figure out how to gain the necessary skills, employers know this and tend to hire by considering softer skill sets and recognising candidates who have heard of and show willingness to work towards CTS certification.
“It is paramount that young people and students of AV subjects know our industry, and discover the current technologies and their applications in everyday life,” says Yoav Slimobich Rojewski, AVIXA account manager for Spain and Portugal.
“This allows us to approach both companies and industry professionals in order to explore options to join the job market in the AV world. The actions surrounding AV Career Day fulfil this specific function.”
With its rapid expansion and continually evolving technology, the pro-AV industry needs a net gain of skilled workers to support this strong and consistent growth. Those already working in pro AV have a wide array of backgrounds, ranging from training or experience in IT, broadcast, live events, residential AV and even construction, retail and hospitality. Many joined the industry straight from school, with no formal AV training.
At AVIXA, we’re excited to provide opportunities for newcomers to the industry to meet potential employers as well as receive training and support while they learn and, hopefully, become certified.
Jobseekers, plan to join us at our matchmaking event on Friday 7 February from 10:30-12:30 in room CC4.1.

Stew Hume, editor, TPi Magazine
By Colby Ramsey
Here at ISE 2025, the Live Events Summit, traditionally a paid-for event, has evolved to become the Live Events Stage, open to all attendees for free. This move reflects a growing commitment to inclusivity and fostering knowledge-sharing within the sector, according to content chair and editor at TPi Magazine, Stew Hume.
“During previous renditions of the Live Events Summit, we aimed to cover all aspects of the touring industry – audio engineers, lighting designers, video specialists, stage designers and more,” Hume explains. “But with such a wide variety of content, not everyone would be interested in all panels. This year, we wanted to create a space where attendees can drop in for panels relevant to their field and return to the showfloor.”
This transition to free access reflects ISE’s goal of providing more opportunities for industry professionals to learn and engage. Hume emphasises: “We wanted the Live Events Stage to be a place for ideas to be shared freely. Removing the paywall supports this mission.”
Another new feature for 2025 is a networking area next to the stage. After each session, speakers will meet attendees for one-on-one interactions, facilitating deeper conversations.
“This interaction is invaluable,” Hume says. “It’s a chance to network with industry leaders while we prepare for the next session.” Sessions on the stage, which is sponsored by MA Lighting, take a deep dive into the live events industry, with an emphasis on both technology and the people
‘We wanted the Live Events Stage to be a place for ideas to be shared freely. Removing the paywall supports this mission’
behind some of the biggest shows. Hume explains: “We want to peel back the curtain on the touring world and provide insights from those creating groundbreaking technology and productions.”
A key theme for this year is tracking – a technology now used across lighting, video, audio and automation.
Hume notes: “We’ll cover everything from automation to projection mapping, and pyrotechnics to drones. It’s an incredibly diverse lineup.”
The programme features experts from companies including Tait, Celestial, Solotech and ER Productions, as well as industry figures such Roland Greil, a lighting designer for artists including The Rolling Stones and Rammstein, who speaks today.
This year also sees an emphasis on diversity and career development in the live events industry. Hume highlights the importance of these topics for the next generation of professionals, noting that “Friday’s stage will be
handled by Hannah Eakins from Production Futures. She’ll be best placed to talk about diversity and career opportunities.”
Sessions on Friday include ‘A Journey to a Successful Global Live Event Production Career’ featuring Daniel Kannenberg, brand and product manager, MA Lighting, alongside lighting designer and programmer Elliott Mountford, and a Breakthrough Talent Award Winners Panel.
In recent years, ISE has grown into one of the most important trade events for the live events industry, especially since its relocation to Barcelona. Hume says: “ISE has become one of the main events on TPi’s calendar, with almost all major manufacturers attending. We’re also seeing more rental houses and end users, particularly from the video world.”
While Hume acknowledges that ISE is still building its reputation among technical crew, he believes the inclusion of the Live Events Stage signals the show’s commitment to the sector. “We hope initiatives like the Live Events Stage will encourage more technical crew from the touring industry to make the trip to Barcelona before the busy spring and summer touring season begins,” he says.
The shift to a free-to-attend Live Events Stage is more than just a logistical change – it’s a statement about the future of the live events industry. By providing a platform for sharing ideas and fostering connections, ISE is helping shape the direction of live events.
Sessions on the Live Events Stage (stand 6B100) take place today from 10:30-17:00. They are free to attend.

How important is sustainability to your customer base? How are you addressing this?
MARTIJN VAN DER WOUDE, VP GLOBAL MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, PHILIPS PPDS Stand: 3P500
Sustainability is becoming an ever-more important subject for our customers and it is something we actively encourage. Equally, for those not yet on their sustainability journey, our aim is to inspire them to come on board, with products and solutions that bring bottom line business savings, as well as sustainability benefits.
Sustainability has been a key pillar of our business for some years, impacting everything we do, from operations, product design and selection of materials to manufacturing processes and locations, packaging and so on.
We are now actively developing innovative ways to lower energy consumption, with in-house hardware and software, and extending best practice energy efficiencies into existing products for extended lifetimes too.
Sustainability cannot be ignored.
GARTH LOBBAN, DIRECTOR OF MARKETING, ATLONA Stand: 2Q300

Why is ISE important to your business and to the industry at large?
ISE is the connection point for the global AV industry. The conference is now the dominant annual event where we come together to show and evaluate new technologies, establish new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships. With that comes a sense of community, which includes feedback on our latest products and ideas. The feedback we received at ISE 2024 inspired the development of our MS-63DOC docking extender kit, which we introduced at InfoComm and is the core element of our new 1Connect collaboration solution.
Why should delegates visit your stand at ISE 2025?
The introduction of our complete 1Connect solution is our primary draw this year. 1Connect offers an all-in-one ecosystem to seamlessly unify AV and USB signals into a single USB-C connection at the front end while delivering unmatched flexibility and integration on the back end. It removes the complexities of HDMI connectivity for seamless collaboration.
1Connect is only part of the story at the MSolutions stand. MSolutions is the only collaboration and connectivity manufacturer that also offers a comprehensive solution for AV, IP and USB signal testing. We truly have no competition in this segment.
What technology do you think will have the greatest impact on the industry over the next five years and why?
USB-C has already made an impact on the future of AV systems design, particularly within the corporate and education verticals. It is increasingly the choice for a single point of connectivity on laptops and mobile devices. USB-C is still in its early stages, and as the technology matures and evolves, we see opportunity to move more signals and larger volumes of data across these connections.

The video content supply chain is experiencing significant transformations as the industry strives to meet the growing demands of consumers and stakeholders. There is an increasing emphasis on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, which are essential for ensuring long-term sustainability and competitiveness.
The broadcast industry, like many others, recognises that sustainability is no longer just a matter of conscience; it’s increasingly becoming a boardroom issue. Shareholders are showing more interest in companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting, demanding transparency and accountability in environmental practices.
This means there is no better time to consider several key areas where those in the industry can focus their efforts to achieve these ESG goals.
REMOTE PRODUCTION: REDUCING CARBON FOOTPRINT
One of the most impactful ways the video content supply chain is addressing environmental
concerns is through remote production. By leveraging advanced technologies, such as virtual production studios and cloud-based editing tools, companies can now produce high-quality content without the need for extensive travel and on-site presence.
CLOUD-NATIVE WORKFLOWS: ENHANCING EFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABILITY
The adoption of cloud-native workflows is another critical aspect of the industry’s ESG strategy. Cloud computing offers numerous benefits, including scalability, flexibility and
STUDIO TECHNOLOGIES | STAND: 4M730
The Model 5682 from Studio Technologies promises to provide a high-performance means of bridging SMPTE ST 2110 audio channels with Dante audio-over-Ethernet channels. Described as ideal for various projects and integrators that need to interconnect these widely deployed protocols, it is available in two versions: the Model 5682-01 supports 32 audio channels while the Model 5682-02 supports up to 64. The unit is compatible with the ST 2110-30

On the Dante side, the Model 5682 is compatible with Dante Domain Manager.
cost-efficiency. By migrating workflows to the cloud, companies can reduce their reliance on physical infrastructure, which in turn lowers energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
CLEAN ENERGY: POWERING THE FUTURE
As the video content supply chain continues to grow, so does its energy consumption. To address this challenge, companies are increasingly turning to clean energy sources to power their operations. Renewable energy, such as solar and wind power, is being integrated into the supply chain to reduce dependence on
fossil fuels and decrease carbon emissions.
Measuring and tracking carbon footprints is crucial for understanding the environmental impact of the video content supply chain. Advanced analytics and reporting tools are being utilised to monitor energy usage, waste generation and other key metrics. This data-driven approach enables companies to set realistic targets and track their progress towards achieving ESG goals. Transparency in reporting also builds trust with stakeholders and demonstrates a commitment to environmental responsibility.
EMBRACING A CIRCULAR ECONOMY
The concept of a circular economy is gaining traction in the video content supply chain as a means to reduce waste and promote resource efficiency. A circular economy focuses on designing products and processes that minimise waste and maximise the reuse and recycling of materials. By adopting circular economy principles, companies can extend the lifecycle of their products, reduce the need for raw materials, and decrease the amount of waste sent to landfills.
Though able to interconnect independent ST 2110 and Dante audio channels on the same LAN, the network interfaces are
electrically isolated and share no non-audio data, minimising the risk of security issues.

By Ted Romanowitz, principal consultant, Futuresource Consulting
The world is a seemingly tumultuous place lately, with concerns about military conflicts, government leadership shifts and economic stagnation combined with inflation and geopolitical tensions, including trade wars and threats of tariffs. The recent global happenings and ongoing discussions around international trade have prompted professional AV brands to evaluate supply chain strategies, including component vendors and manufacturing partnerships.
One potential tactic is to order substantial inventories to be delivered prior to tariff implementations to avoid them. Doing so requires capital investments where cash flow might be used elsewhere more optimally. Incremental costs must be incurred to expedite parts, assembly and delivery. Once landed, there are expenses related to warehousing, inventory carrying costs, depreciation and loss. Risk is associated with ordering the wrong mix of stock keeping units, leading to discounting to liquidate inventory before it becomes obsolete. Moreover, if threatened tariffs are never imposed, then the

provider Faradite is showcasing its new Motion Sensor 360 –Plaster in, the latest in its range of discreet motion sensors. Also known as a passive infrared detector (PIR), the new motion sensor is flat and made up of three main components:
investment would be for naught.
Evolving jargon includes OOC (Out of China) and OOT (Out of Taiwan) as brands seek perceived safer harbours to source parts to produce finished goods. However, the ‘not all that glitters is gold’ aphorism seems particularly applicable as plethora of direct and indirect costs, measured in both time and money, are associated with sourcing shifts that may possibly exceed the incremental costs incurred via tariffs imposed.
The global LED display marketplace may be particularly impacted because of its high reliance on China-based supplier and manufacturers. In late November, Futuresource published the Global LED Supply

Chain Report that profiles 36 component providers, 20 China-based branded OEM/ ODM vendors and 15 contract manufacturers. It also provides insights on component providers and LED factories outside China and Taiwan, including 21 companies manufacturing LED solutions in North America, Europe and the rest of APAC.
Several countries often mentioned as evolving manufacturing hubs include India, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam in Southeast Asia, Slovakia and Turkey in Europe, as well as Mexico and Canada in North America. Each has developing technology manufacturing centres, but the assurance of a guaranteed, sustainable capacity with sufficient
quality commensurate with brand image must be meticulously evaluated.
Best-in-class pro-AV brands have proactively begun this process by routinely evaluating component vendors and manufacturing partners to maximise quality while minimising bill of material (BOM) and production costs. Second sourcing and geographical diversity are two strategies to harden supply chains without incurring significant finished goods investments.
Diversifying entire ecosystems includes relocating supply chains, product manufacturing and distribution warehouses closer to the customer to improve sustainability. Geographically dispersing duplicate facilities can prevent disruptions, whether a result of unexpected events, be they natural or human made.
There are numerous independent variables beyond our control, complicating business strategy and planning. Wise organisations will focus on identifying and assessing the likelihood of potential impacts, investigating and evaluating contingencies, all while proactively implementing measures to mitigate risk and optimise business operations during turbulent times as well as strategically positioning themselves for future technologies.
