Outside the newly opened Hall 8.1, physical proof of the continued expansion of the ISE show, Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Events, is enjoying the Catalonian sunshine.
Speaking to the ISE Daily as stands across the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via get a last lick of paint before the show opens, Blackman is confident that everything is on track for another very successful ISE.
“We’re on schedule, and everything is looking good. We’ve expanded again this year with a new hall, and we’re really enthusiastic about the growth of ISE – it’s been phenomenal,” he says.
Several new elements have been introduced to make this year’s show even more engaging.
“There’s the Robotics and Drone Arena, AVIXA TV, and for the first time, an Esports Arena,” he adds. “This is our most ambitious feature to date; we’ve put a lot of investment into it and found a really strong partner to develop and deliver it. We’ve collaborated with LVP, part of the MEDIAPRO Group, which specialises in live esports broadcasts and professional events. They’re one
of the most experienced partners we could find to create this.
The Esports Arena will not only showcase live matches between professional esports teams, with online streaming, but also include conferences and discussions on the business of esports.”
So how does this fit into ISE’s traditional audience?
Blackman says there are two aspects to this: “First, there’s the business opportunity –many attendees are looking for ways to expand their business, and esports is a fast-growing sector. Second, it highlights the entertainment aspect of the AV industry. ISE always aims to inspire attendees by showcasing what’s possible with state-of-the-art technology. We always want to create that ‘wow’ effect when people walk through the show.
“ISE is a place where people return year after year to reconnect – with partners, with the industry, and with emerging technologies. The show is a hub for discovering what’s new and where the industry is heading.”
There’s also a notable increase in partnerships this year.
“We’ve developed strong collaborations with several business and industry associations,” Blackman says.
“Locally, we work with the Catalan AV Cluster, as well as business organisations like PIMEC, which supports small and medium-sized enterprises, and Foment del Treball, which represents corporate businesses. We also partner with the Catalan government through its investment arm, ACCIÓ, as well as the investment arm of the Barcelona City Administration. Additionally, we’re engaging with the Spanish government and even the European-level EIT (European Institute of Innovation & Technology). These partnerships help us broaden ISE’s reach and bring the right audience to the show.”
“Our goal is to bring buyers and sellers together,” Blackman continues. “Exhibitors are looking to connect with the right people, and the more we can outreach into different industries, different associations and different channels, the better we can serve them.”
And what is Mike Blackman personally most excited about this year?
“Everything! the Esports Arena, the Connected Classroom, it’s all fantastic,” he says. “I’m a tech fan, so I love seeing all the new innovations. That’s what excites me every morning about ISE. I’m like a kid walking into a giant toy store.”
Connecting art and AV Arborescent, a work by digital artist Quayola, transformed the facade of Casa Batlló last weekend (1-2 February). The mesmerising projection mapping paid tribute to nature through digital simulations branching across the façade of the Antoni Gaudídesigned building, wowing crowds on Saturday and Sunday evening. The presentation comes ahead of Quayola’s keynote presentation on Wednesday 5 February at 15:30, which will give ISE visitors fascinating insights into his groundbreaking projects, including Arborescent. For anyone who missed the chance to see Quayola’s work live, the Italian artist is also presenting his piece Promenade at 18:30 today on the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via’s award-winning South Access Welcome Screen.

For the first time at ISE, AVIXA’s full production TV studio will be live streaming content from Hall 8 throughout the week. This will spotlight a key industry trend, and one of the fastestgrowing applications in the industry, according to Dave Labuskes, CEO of AVIXA.
“If you haven’t been exposed to this technology previously, you should go and see how it’s implemented,” he says. “People have preconceptions of broadcast technology that are dated or grandiose, like massive production, editing and control rooms. As we move to a hybrid world, all organisations large or small need to be able to communicate effectively through the internet and create productionquality communications content, whether for employee meetings, shareholder meetings, or virtual training sessions. If you have boring or poorly produced content, it won’t be absorbed. Organisations are investing in this technology all around the world; it needs to be seen and to be made less intimidating to our industry.”
AVIXA is proud of putting together the largest content programme yet seen at ISE, with over 250 hours of education running across stages, classrooms and seminars, covering everything from smart building and education technology to broadcast AV and digital
signage. “We have curated the ISE education tracks around five megatrends: AI, audio, cybersecurity, retail and sustainability,” says Labuskes. “You can follow the trend you prefer, it’s a different way to look at the content.”
Additionally, the AVIXA Xchange LIVE stage in Hall 3 is hosting four days of interactive meetups tied into the online Xchange community.
The topics Labuskes expects to see trending at this year’s show obviously include
Moving at speed
The AV User Group Speed Pitches took place at the Fira yesterday, marking the first time in 14 years that the group opened attendance to non-members. Some 48 manufacturers exhibiting at ISE delivered four-minute pitches to the audience of end users and AV consultants, revealing details of new products they are launching at the show. Owen Ellis, chairman of the AV User Group (pictured), said: “It’s an audience of purely audiovisual end users and audiovisual consultants and this is what they want to know about – what’s new at the show. This event gives them an insight into stands they should be going to look at.”
AI. “Some will provide direct applications, others will be rebranding automation they have had in place for 20 years. The show is an opportunity to kick the tyres and determine whether what is presented is real or not.”
Hybrid office, collaboration spaces and connected classrooms linking people using hardware and software collaboration tools is another significant trend throughout the show, targeted towards enterprise and education.
Finally, the ‘experience economy’, which trended in the first decade of this century, is making a comeback, according to Labuskes. “That human desire to connect and have experiences that are memorable and shareable is a trend we see reflected in growth within the live events segments in our industry. The growth of media servers is another aspect that’s driving broadcast AV, the ability to take those experiences and extend them to a broader audience. We see a continued hunger for experience, and a demand for quality. Mediocrity is not memorable.”
Who defines themselves as an AV professional, what an AV professional needs to know and what technologies are available remain moving concepts, according to Labuskes who explains that, in the end, AV is about connecting people to people, and creating experiences. “I love the theme of this year’s show, Connection Restored. It’s so timely for our world to reflect on connecting to each other wherever we are. The AV industry is at the core of doing that, and the way to deliver on that promise is within these walls, either as knowledge or as product.”

Those attending CEDIA’s annual meeting, being held on Wednesday 5 February on the Smart Home Technology Stage from 15:30-17:00 and being live streamed around the world, will hear more about the organisation’s recently restructured membership tiering, one of the most important initiatives from the association in recent years and a first in CEDIA’s history, according to Daryl Friedman, global president and CEO of CEDIA.
“This will make it easier for members to find the level of benefits that suits them,” Friedman says. “We think the Premium membership, at the highest level, is the greatest value in the industry as it provides almost unlimited education online for every member of the integrator’s team. Our Professional membership will offer even more value, and our Starter membership gives people the chance to experience CEDIA for a couple of years as they start their businesses. We are really proud of that.”
The newly launched CEDIA Foundation will also be in the spotlight. This global initiative is focused primarily on workforce development. “The foundation gives us more opportunity to raise funds to bring new populations into the workforce and help people train,” adds Friedman. “There are a number of factors for this, the industry is growing exponentially and we want to make sure it’s supported. There is a worldwide shortage of labour and we want to make sure this industry is attractive: it’s lucrative, fun and you work with the most cutting-edge technology. It’s easy to get
Friedman: ‘ISE is one of the greatest moments of the year for residential technology’
Martin Audio is revving up the excitement at ISE with the FlexPoint Pitstop Challenge, a competition to test visitors’ speed and skill in rotating the driver on its flagship FlexPoint loudspeaker, the FP8. The racer with the fastest time recorded over the four days of ISE will be crowned the ultimate speed champion and receive a prize package valued at £10,000 (€12,000), including two FP8
speakers, two SX112 subwoofers and one iKON iK41 amplifier. Participants race against the clock to complete the driver rotation process with a live leader board displayed at the Martin Audio stand. The FlexPoint Pitstop Challenge is open to all ISE attendees.
Aside from the ultra-compact FP4, every model in the FlexPoint range features a multi-angle enclosure that allows orientation
employed and you can learn all this without taking on university debt.
“And, last but not least, there’s a worldwide rise in the value of having a skilled trade. All these things make it the right time for the CEDIA Foundation to infuse new blood into this workforce.”
Friedman also points out that the residential sector at ISE is growing every year, with many more exhibitors and more space in Hall 2 for 2025. The Smart Home Technology Conference is also growing alongside an improved Smart Home Technology Stage.
“In addition to the key legacy elements of our technology, such as audiovisual, which are improving every year, we expect to see a lot of interest in wellbeing, sustainability, ageing in place, human-centric lighting, audio and shading, which have become major growth sectors alongside power storage and management,” he explains. “It’s about making sure that people’s bodies, that have always been attuned to the outdoors, are being supported by technology to help the indoors mimic the outdoors. And, as the population ages, using technology to allow people to stay in their homes in unobtrusive ways is crucial.
“There’s even a robotics area at ISE this year and while it’s not yet in homes, it’s an area our residential technologists should watch out for. Of course, AI is infused into everything. ISE is one of the greatest moments of the year for residential technology and it really shows us in the best possible light. ISE is a way of bringing our entire mission together in one week for a global population.”
Will you take the chequered flag?
in either portrait or landscape mode. Martin Audio’s proprietary quick-release grille latches and captive release clamps mean the FlexPoint driver can be rotated 90° by hand, without any tools. This ensures quick adjustments in the field and is a feature Martin Audio is showcasing with the FlexPoint Pitstop Challenge.

DaVinci Resolve now includes new real time editing tools, making it the world’s fastest editor for broadcast editing in feature film quality. But you can even use it for live action replay! You can edit while HyperDecks are recording live and you can even cut in the viewer to edit without a timeline! Imagine doing broadcast replays and then posting them to social media!
DaVinci Resolve lets you do replay in a few simple steps. It’s as simple as watching the input view in the viewer and then pressing the POI button when an exciting event happens. That will switch you from the input view to playback media, where you can see the different camera angles you have in a multi-view. Now just scroll back, select a camera and you’re ready to play by pressing the run button.
Building a high end replay system is easy as it’s storage centric, where multiple HyperDecks record and DaVinci Resolve handles the playback. Then add more storage when you need extra space and higher speed. Plus, you can add more than one DaVinci Resolve system and they will collaborate globally using Blackmagic Cloud shared projects.
To start working with replay, you simply load the HyperDeck recordings into the bin. One of the reasons DaVinci Resolve can be used for replay is it can edit media files even while those files are still being recorded on disk. The viewer will automatically advance as the files grow in length, so you can scroll forward and get to the latest media being recorded.
The DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor is a hardware control panel that combines features for both replay and for multicam editing. Its affordable design has the same high quality keys that gaming keyboards use, so it’s reliable and feels nice to use. With features for both replay and editing, it means the same operator can work on replays while loading them into the timeline.
Offering LG’s DOOH Ads for digital-outof-home signage products, LG Business Cloud also now provides a new LG Pro:Centric Stay system for short-term rental businesses.
LG DOOH Ads is a comprehensive, customisable and easy-to-use offering for commercial display advertising. Users can set key parameters, such as region, price and ad types, and LG DOOH Ads will automatically select suitable advertisements for display, reducing the need for businesses to secure advertisers themselves. Users can also display ads that they source independently. The solution uses advanced AI camera technology to analyse viewers’ data such as gender, age and behaviour to deliver customised ads. This analysis can also be used to generate a report on viewer behaviour, as a paid option.
Paik Ki-mun, head of information display business, LG Media Entertainment, said: “With the arrival of LG DOOH Ads and LG Pro:Centric Stay on LG Business Cloud, companies can now manage their digital displays more efficiently. We aim to provide global B2B clients with differentiated signage software through LG Business Cloud, enabling remote display management and personalised content distribution.” – david fox www.lg-informationdisplay.com/ ise2025

Interspersed with the gaming, the Esports Arena also features a daily schedule of Technology Showcases and panel discussions focusing on the key areas of audio, broadcast and display components.
Also in Hall 8.1 the Robotics and Drone Arena (8J300) provides a platform for engineers, hobbyists and students to collaborate, compete and innovate. Obstacle courses, aerial races, workshops and more are being held throughout the show, providing a dynamic environment to experience the future of robotics and drone technology. See the ISE app or website for full programme details of both Arenas.
The ISE Treasure Hunt is once again taking place across the ISE showfloor, offering an opportunity for visitors to win prizes including an iPhone 16 and Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
To take part, visitors need to locate and scan a set number of QR codes at participating exhibitors’ stands and elsewhere. Treasure Hunt locations are highlighted on the in-app Treasure Map – in the Treasure Hunt section of the ISE app – and the fold-out floorplan.
Two prize draws will be held during the show. The first will be tomorrow and the second is on Friday 7 February, both at 14:30. The winners of the final prizes will be announced at the Robotics and Drone Arena in Hall 8.1.
This year also sees the Discovery Zone, home to exhibitors new to ISE, moving to Hall 8.1. Video delivery solutions provider WellAV, digital signage innovator OptiSigns and power supply specialist Riello UPS are among the global companies exhibiting in the Discovery Zone. Finally, Hall 8.1 is also home to the AVIXA TV Studio. This fully operational studio features a wide range of equipment, from cameras and audio gear, to AR graphics and immersive VR solutions. Daily AVIXA TV live streams and podcast recordings are also being produced here.
Digital artists Alice Labourel, Quayola and Jeroen van der Most will be bringing their incredible video artworks to the Fira’s South Access Welcome Screen this week.
At 18:30 on Thursday 6 February, Alice Labourel, a French art director and artist known for her innovative fusion of visual storytelling and new technologies, will showcase her film A Tiny Bead of Pure Life. This is a preview of what she will show at the Llum BCN light arts festival, which takes place in Barcelona immediately after ISE.
On Tuesday 4 February, also at 18:30,
Italian digital artist Quayola, who will be giving the ISE 2025 Creative Keynote address the following day, will present his artwork Promenade. This juxtaposes laser scans of a forest with drone footage of the same terrain. It is part of his ongoing explorations observing nature through machines.
The trio of performances is completed by Dutch digital artist Jeroen van der Most, who returns to ISE after being a Keynote speaker last year. He will present Evolution Unbound, a piece developed specifically for the Fira screen, at 18:30 on 5 February.

Following the success of its inaugural demonstration at InfoComm 2024, AVIXA TV is broadcasting live at ISE from the AVIXA TV Studio (8A880), bringing hands-on demos and lively discussions to show attendees while showcasing the very latest technology for integrating broadcast-quality content into corporate environments.
Already a valuable resource for the AV industry, AVIXA TV’s award-winning content is testament to the possibilities for storytelling, virtual production and collaboration within a high-end production environment. AVIXA TV Studio demonstrates the latest technology from the rapidly converging worlds of broadcast and AV. A partnership with Ross Video, a provider of solutions to live and video productions, and broadcast technology partners including Barco, Shure and Forecast Consoles, brings the studio to the showfloor.
Attendees will have the opportunity to see and experience virtual production in a real-time application they can recreate in their own environments and get an invaluable behind-the-scenes look at how to build out and execute a broadcast solution.
“The AVIXA TV Studio highlights a range of solutions, from simple turnkey options to fully customisable setups, providing inspiration and practical examples for creating podcasts, marketing content, or delivering virtual keynotes,” says Sam Minish, vice president of content delivery, AVIXA.
“We’ve taken our success at InfoComm 2024 and built a bigger, bolder and more dynamic experience for ISE 2025. We have everything from a virtual stage using a green screen to an anchor desk, and from a more intimate podcast recording table to large LED screens for content-driven backdrops.”
Visitors to the AVIXA TV Studio stand will have the opportunity to engage in interactive workshops, hear
interviews with subject matter experts, network, and join on-booth sessions covering topics including live production, live recordings of podcasts and more. Content is also being live streamed on social media platforms such as LinkedIn and YouTube, and made available on-demand at www.avixa.tv.
“Our biggest challenge during InfoComm 2024 was balancing the temporary nature of trade shows with the need for high-quality production. And these challenges are very similar to those experienced in corporate environments, where companies often lack dedicated spaces and must work within existing infrastructure while striving for flexible, future-proof solutions,” says Minish.
“We were able to address this by focusing on core needs and adding extra elements like a virtual stage and AR features. Overcoming these challenges in real time showcased how businesses can effectively integrate broadcast solutions into their operations. Because we are using this technology for our own enterprise solutions, we’re uniquely positioned to talk about the specific opportunities, challenges and areas of creativity that exist as different verticals explore and expand with broadcast AV.”
The endless possibilities for broadcast AV solutions present attractive opportunities to organisations willing to invest the time and energy to learn how to navigate this dynamic market. The AVIXA TV Studio will highlight its versatility while demystifying the subject and showing precisely how the magic happens.
“Whether you’re working with a small budget or have a blank cheque, you’ll find something for you at the AVIXA TV Studio,” says Minish.
AVIXA TV Studio is located in Hall 8.1 (8A880).

Globally acclaimed digital analyst, author and visionary Brian Solis will take to the stage this afternoon to present this year’s ISE Opening Keynote.
At 13:45, immediately after his Keynote, Solis will be joined by Fardad Zabetian, CEO and co-founder of KUDO; Sarah Cox, founder and managing director, Neutral Human; and digital artist Quayola as they share their groundbreaking predictions for the world of tomorrow. The panel will be hosted by Josephine Watson, managing editor of lifestyle at TechRadar.
Known for his profound insights into the intersection of technology, business and culture, Solis will share his vision on how the pro-AV and systems integration industry can change and innovate through the latest developments in artificial intelligence.
Solis’ background as a futurist and AI expert began with a move to Silicon Valley in the 1990s where he experienced the shift from enterprise hardware to software and the rise of the consumer internet.
“It was all very fascinating to me,” recalls Solis. “What I had noticed is that Silicon Valley had a tendency to talk about the tech – speeds, bandwidth, capacity, capabilities. But what Silicon Valley didn’t do a good job of was understanding the impact of that technology and communicating it as a solution, as a benefit, as a life-changing event from a behavioural standpoint.
“By engaging people in a way that was transformative, I started to do research and I started to understand the impacts of technology on people. I started to reverse engineer those impacts and then work it into go-to-market
Brian Solis, head of global innovation, ServiceNow
‘[AI] isn’t just another technology wave. This is a transformative and incredibly disruptive wave that is just beginning’
for the technology companies that I was working with.”
In more recent years, however, the accelerating rate of innovation became a challenge for Solis, leading him to explore futurism.
“Technology became so fast and furious that I found myself reacting to what was next, versus anticipating what was next – and that was when I implemented the practice of futurism: understanding the emerging trends, understanding what those trends could mean in particular scenarios and applications,
understanding what we would do from a strategy perspective should those start to move through the spectrum of adoption, to always anticipate and prepare for those impacts before they happen, and that also became a competitive advantage.”
Not surprisingly, AI, and gen AI in particular, has been an area of interest for Solis for some time.
“AI has been around for decades – I paid attention to AI in its iterations. This isn’t just another technology wave. This is a transformative and incredibly disruptive wave that is just beginning. There are a series of
AIs that are now going to become a constant. I don’t know the cycle, but I do know the technology of each of those waves and what they could mean for businesses and how they’re going to change businesses, how they’re going to change behaviours, how they’re going to create new types of products and product categories.”
This transformation, and why we all need to become everyday futurists, will form part of Solis’ ISE keynote.
“When you have an entire set of products and services that are going to profoundly change because of artificial intelligence, understanding how to become an everyday futurist, to anticipate not only these new product categories, but how you’re going to structure your services around these new products, how you’re going to price these services around the potential needs of customers and anticipating what those needs and opportunities could be so that your business is proactive, that your modelling is proactive, that your skilling, your upskilling, your learning and unlearning is proactive, is crucial,” he adds.
“AI is actually happening and there are a lot of people who are just waiting to see what’s going to happen, but there is no saviour who’s going to come down to the world and say, ‘here’s what you need to do with AI to change your life for the better’. It is an opportunity, an inflection point, for each and every one of us, to see the world differently.”
The Opening Keynote will take place today at 13:00 in room CC4.1. It is followed immediately by the Future Panel Discussion – Visions of Tomorrow at 13:45. Both are free to attend.
In today’s increasingly distributed world, businesses face the challenge of maintaining effective communication and collaboration across geographically dispersed teams. Google’s Project Starline is a breakthrough technology that aims to bridge this gap by offering a ‘magic window’ experience. By leveraging advanced AI, 3D imaging and spatial audio, Starline replicates the key elements of in-person meetings, making participants feel like they’re in the same room.
Starline dramatically improves the quality of meetings and, in the process, can help businesses
improve productivity, foster stronger connections, and unlock better business outcomes.
Advantages of meetings on Starline include enhanced engagement and productivity, with meeting participants on Starline displaying more nonverbal behaviours, increased focus, and improved memory recall, according to the company’s research. Participation equity is also improved with meeting participants taking up to 2.6x more turns speaking on Starline versus traditional video conferencing services.

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues are at the heart of Sony’s presence at ISE this year. For example, its Bravia BZ-L Series of professional displays have a strong focus on sustainability, using recycled materials, including Sorplas (Sustainable Oriented Recycled Plastic), and featuring an Eco dashboard to ensure efficiency. An ambient light sensor optimises power consumption, contributing to low EPREL (European Product Registry for Energy Labelling) rankings across the lineup.
Its flagship BZ40L and BZ53L models also offer a new Deep Black Non-Glare coating for enhanced contrast and vibrant colours in high ambient light environments. They are being shown alongside the new Bravia Projector 8 and 9.
Also new are partner integrations for Sony’s TEOS workplace management system; its SRGA12/A40 PTZ cameras used for AI multi-person framing in classrooms; and its Crystal LED CH-series demonstrating different automotive design simulations. The latest in virtual production technology is also on show.
Rik Willemse, head of Sony Professional
Displays & Solutions Europe, said: “We’ve been focusing a lot on our long-term vision and purpose, particularly around our ESG initiatives, and are looking forward to showcasing our
‘Making it, Moving it, Using it and Re-using it’ philosophy which sits under our wider Sony Road to Zero plan.”

ISE is not only the largest showcase of AV products but it’s also a mirror of the industry’s current state. New products are never created in isolation; they either respond to existing needs or introduce entirely new applications that advance the market. While we eagerly explore the latest innovations and applications unveiled at the show, we’re equally intrigued by what’s absent – what challenges remain unaddressed, and how we can step in to solve them.

The Level L38 is a new take on a full-range loudspeaker from US audio specialist 1 Sound. With a lowprofile design, the Level L38 is designed to be mounted flush on a wall or ceiling, standing only 8in from the surface and utilising hardware that is already built into the cabinet. Comprised of three 8in drivers with a progressive horn design, the speaker is capable of a 130dB max SPL.
Curved, cubed or conventional: YesTech’s MG10, Xtra and Rubik have it covered
The L38 is passive cardioid, which limits unwanted reflections because of its linear 8dB reduction off-axis. It can be optimally mounted 2.5m to 4.5m high on a wall, and if mounted the dispersion covers almost 90° below the loudspeaker which makes it ideal for restaurant or retail environments for wall-to-wall coverage. The company says this discreet loudspeaker is also suitable for high-energy bars, performance or hospitality venues, as well as under balconies in theatres.
Like all 1 Sound loudspeakers, the Level 38 is available in a variety of colours and finishes. It is IP55 rated and saltwater resistant.

Up to six systems are being demonstrated, including the ES, SL, ESD, EX and ESM series, as well as KV2’s floor monitoring solutions. The company says that each demonstration highlights KV2’s technical expertise and commitment to delivering optimal sound tailored to every application, and all with no heavy reliance on DSP.
The company claims that visitors will also gain an understanding of KV2’s approach to sound reproduction, implementing a combination of ultra-fast components with analogue electronics, all operating at significantly increased speeds and resolution. The demo room focuses on the practical implications of this technology for real-world applications.

Chip on board (COB) technology is transforming the LED industry. Unlike surface mounted device (SMD) technology, where LED chips are placed within a housing, COB involves mounting the chips directly onto the printed circuit board. This approach not only reduces production steps and saves costs, but also allows for finer pixel pitches. Moreover, COB stands out with superior heat dissipation, which enhances energy efficiency and prolongs lifespan.
At ISE 2025, LANG AG is once again showcasing the highlights of COB technology. This year, the spotlight is on applications in the rental sector, new pixel pitch options and increased flexibility. Since the introduction of the LEDgend family at ISE 2024, the technology has continued to grow in importance, setting new benchmarks for compact, efficient and highquality LED solutions.
Visitors can see how COB is addressing the demands of modern LED applications in a cutting-edge and forward-thinking manner. – JO RUDDOCK www.lang-ag.com

Broadcast-grade production technology is no longer the preserve of traditional broadcasters and TV networks. Access to cutting-edge media production solutions is now within reach for a broader pool of organizations, a transformation that companies such as Grass Valley have been instrumental in enabling.
The ongoing democratization of media solutions will see accelerating deployments of technology in non-traditional broadcast environments such as corporate, education, and houses of worship, as well as providing areas like sports, live events, and esports with new production and streaming capabilities.
For organizations in all these sectors, access to agile, simple and affordable media production solutions is now more within reach than ever before.
Grass Valley technology is already empowering a new generation of high-end productions such as the G20 Summit, the COP28 UN Climate Change Conference, and 2024 Global Leadership Summit, as well as enabling new cloud production capabilities for companies like Gfinity, Electronic Arts Competitive Gaming Entertainment, and Corrivium.
In the live events space, production companies such as Fifty Frames and Nighthawk have been redefining their concert productions by deploying Grass Valley technology on a number of recent shows, most recently Nighthawk’s production of country music star Morgan Wallen’s One Night at a Time tour.
Grass Valley has led the market as a pioneer of camera-to-consumer solutions for 65 years. In 2021, that pioneering heritage was further demonstrated with the launch of the game-changing AMPP platform; a revolution in media production delivering agile, software-defined workflows for OB vans, cloud, and on-premises environments, offering customers the ultimate in control and flexibility.
AMPP is a microservices-based media production platform enabling efficient and flexible production workflows for live content creation, management, and distribution. It has become a cornerstone for major global events, enabling customers across the media
landscape to reduce operational costs, gain flexibility, and drive new revenue streams.
AMPP’s rapid adoption – usage now exceeds 6 million hours per month – emphasizes how organizations with media production requirements are benefitting from software-defined workflows that are flexible, scalable, and efficient.
Solutions like Framelight X asset management and Playout X systems – deployed on G20 Summit and DMC Rally X projects – have been primary drivers of this momentum, creating significant cost efficiencies for customers. So too have deployments of Grass Valley’s LDX Series cameras (deployed on the Morgan Wallen tour), Creative Grading system, and Maverik X, Live Producer X, and Sports Producer X switchers. All of which are being demonstrated on Grass Valley’s stand at ISE (4P660).
Grass Valley is reshaping the future of media production by putting the latest
broadcast-grade innovations into the hands of content providers of all shapes, sizes, and budgets. Its solutions are helping to democratize the production process to support organizations in realizing their highest production value ambitions.
Grass Valley’s strategic partnerships with key players such as Diversified, ES Broadcast, and Arabsat are further examples of the company’s commitment to enhancing product innovation for the broadest possible mix of customers.
As is being showcased at ISE 2025, organizations across the pro AV and media landscape are experiencing the agile, simple, and affordable power of AMPP and the GV Media Universe.
Want to revolutionize your media production capabilities? Let’s talk.

The shift towards IP-based workflows is accelerating with the introduction of standards such as SMPTE ST 2110, enabling uncompressed 10-bit IP video systems with enhanced flexibility and interoperability. While the transition to IP can seem daunting, we aim to simplify the process by designing tools that replicate traditional SDI workflows, ensuring accessibility for customers without specialised IT expertise.
Our journey into IP began with foundational products like the threeby-three converter, expanding into a comprehensive range, including Mini IP converters and an 8x12 model. Early optimism about off-the-shelf simplicity overlooked challenges such as timing, synchronisation and network requirements. By adopting ST 2110, we’ve embraced a framework that provides greater flexibility, enabling integration with third-party tools while embedding Blackmagic technologies
into broader ecosystems.
Building on the ST 2110 standard, we developed the Blackmagic IP10 codec, designed to transmit 12G baseband video (2160p) over 10G networks with visually lossless compression and low latency. This eliminates the need for expensive 25G or 100G infrastructure, making high-quality IP workflows more cost-effective. As an open, licence-free standard, it also ensures future ST 2110 IP video products remain affordable while promoting industry-wide compatibility.
Our IP solutions, such as the IP-to-HDMI converters, integrate into facilities with existing 10G networks, offering flexibility without specialised cabling. Designed to mirror SDI workflows, they enable intuitive, robust systems that support scalable content production setups with studio cameras, ATEM switchers and HyperDeck recorders.
Our aim is to make IP workflows accessible, cost-effective and flexible, empowering customers to embrace the future of content production.

DPA MICROPHONES | STAND: 7P600
Making its European debut at ISE, DPA Microphones’ Core+ technology is a patentpending innovation that aims to set a new standard for distortion-free microphone sound.
Eliminating the non-linearities typically generated by the membrane and electronic components of a microphone, DPA says Core+ neutralises distortion across the entire dynamic range of the microphone to make any residual noise imperceptible and virtually unmeasurable. Its implementation requires a redesign of the company’s microphones, which DPA plans to accomplish with a slow update roll-out across its portfolio. The first to be addressed are DPA’s 5mm omnidirectional headsets and lavalier mics, followed by the brand’s miniature cardioid mics.
The company says all DPA microphones incorporating Core+ will retain the same specifications, including dynamic range and noise level. To illustrate the advantages of the diminished distortion that Core+
provides, DPA has implemented a new THD performance reference point – THD <0.5%.
As all DPA microphones share the same sonic characteristics, current users will be able to mix the enhanced Core+ solutions with their existing equipment. – KEVIN EMMOTT www.dpamicrophones.com

José Rivas, vice president and chief sales officer, Shure
As the AV industry advances, we are witnessing a transformation in how we connect and collaborate, driven by technological innovations. At Shure, we recognise the potential of cutting-edge digital tools, AI assistants and innovative collaboration platforms. While AI has the potential to revolutionise collaboration in meeting rooms, we are not yet fully realising its benefits.
In 2025, we expect greater emphasis on the role of high-quality audio in AI-powered meetings. Productivity tools rely heavily on clear audio input to generate accurate transcriptions and summaries, ensure key points and action items are understood, and correctly identify and attribute speakers. This clarity is crucial for maintaining productivity and effective communication. Although companies are still gauging the long-
term impact of AI tools on business performance, the immediate benefits of investing in premium audio quality are already apparent.
Poor audio can result in costly misunderstandings, repeated clarifications and ineffective decision-making due to the increased cognitive load on participants who struggle to comprehend what is being said.
On the other hand, superior audio quality enhances productivity and user satisfaction by enabling precise and uninterrupted communication, allowing participants to focus on content rather than the medium.
As AI continues to transform productivity tools, the importance of integrating superior audio technology becomes paramount. Companies like Shure ensure these tools perform optimally by providing reliable, high-quality solutions that support accurate transcriptions, enhance communication, and seamlessly integrate with unified communication platforms.

The Ultra-X80 versatile point source loudspeaker is the most powerful member of Meyer Sound’s Ultra family and draws on innovations behind its Panther large-format linear line array loudspeaker to provide greater precision, power and clarity in a compact, simple-to-deploy package.
The newly shipping Ultra-X80 and Ultra-X82 offer analogue and Milan connectivity as standard. Together, the Ultra family, Panther, 2100-LFC and the USW subwoofer family are the most comprehensive range of Milan-equipped speakers available.
Andy Davies, director of product & services, Meyer Sound, said: “With Ultra-X80, we are providing extraordinary powerto-size performance along with the kind of flexibility and simplicity of deployment that make a point source loudspeaker so versatile.”
Ultra-X80 includes a rotatable 95ºx40º waveguide and delivers a total linear peak output of 141dB SPL in a cabinet weighing 59kg. The Ultra-X82 variant offers a more tightly focused 50ºx40º dispersion pattern and delivers 142dB SPL.
“There are many high-SPL applications in the market where two-, three-, or four-box arrays have been stop-gap solutions because traditional point source products just couldn’t deliver the coverage and power needed. Ultra-X80 offers a much simpler, more cost-effective way of approaching those scenarios, without compromising on performance,” said Davies.

Prague’s O2 Arena, home to ice hockey team HC Sparta Prague, has undergone an AV overhaul, transforming its ability to improve content delivery, while boosting scalability and production flexibility, and Blackmagic Design is at the heart of the setup.
After evaluating various options, Bestsport, which owns and operates the arena, decided to use Blackmagic Design hardware for its AV control system.
“We were looking for a costeffective solution that could operate on the 3G-SDI standard with the flexibility to scale up to 12G,” explained Bestsport media technology lead Pavel Matějíček. “Blackmagic allowed us to do that, plus it supported remote camera correction, which was essential.”
The Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 camera hardware stood out for several reasons. One key factor was its compatibility
with Bestsport’s existing B4 lenses and coaxial cable infrastructure.
“We tested alternatives, but SDI won out in the end,” noted Matějíček. “Blackmagic allowed us to reuse several existing lenses and connect cameras using two coaxial cables with optical converters for long distances.
Building a new infrastructure with LEMO hybrid cables would have been impossible within our budget.”
At the heart of the system is the ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K live production switcher, which handles all the content for the central cube display. It is complemented by the ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel 40, a Videohub 40x40 12G video matrix and two ATEM camera control panels for remote operation and shading.
The setup typically manages up to 18 input signals, including four Blackmagic URSA Broadcast
G2 cameras, four Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro units and a single Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro with wireless transmission.
Matějíček added: “The entire chain currently operates at a resolution of 1080p50. For
recording, we also use HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR and HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro. For monitoring, we rely on SmartView 4K G2, SmartScope Duo 4K, and the Audio Monitor 12G G2.”
