Dementia awareness campaign The business was created by mother and daughter in memory of their mother/grandmother. Both Wendy and Kelly have more than 60 years’ experience in the care industry both in a home environment and out in the community. Wendy has previously been Registered Manager for residential homes and a domiciliary care agency.

Forget me Not creates quality care within a person home environment relieving the pressure from hospitals.

What is the main product of the company? We are a domiciliary care company providing trained care staff to support people in their own homes.

OWNERSHIP BACKGROUND

As a company we focus on quality and not quantity giving clients the benefit of not being rushed and staff the knowledge they can fulfil all tasks in a relaxed timely manner.

Wendy Codner (shareholder): Wendy has gained a lot of knowledge working in domiciliary care as care coordinator, care manager and registered manager, of care homes and domiciliary care. Diploma L5 Leadership and Management, L3 Health and Social Care, Assessor and Teaching Qualifications, Managers Safeguarding Training, and several mandatory in-house training courses. Kelly Hoggan (shareholder): Kelly has been successful in leading teams of staff in care home settings. Kelly is undertaking her Diploma L5 Leadership and Management, has L3 Health and Social Care and several up to date in house mandatory training certificates. To date we have employed one carer/business manager. That has previously worked with Wendy, she is an asset to the company for her networking and knowledge in setting up all the processes required for a successful future

What does the product do? Assisting with Washing, bathing, showering clients in their own homes. Administration of medication and prescribed creams. Application of prescribed stockings. Dressing, undressing, food and fluid, assist in managing continence. Assisting to/from bed. Security of the building. Shopping or appointment visits. End of life support. Light domestic duties. Night ‘sits’ or sitting with a loved one during the day so the husband/wife/family member can have a few hours to themselves. A befriending service where we spend time with the client attending social events, clubs, hobbies etc. The company’s belief is ‘Your Care, Your Way’ the demand for carers within the community is very high due to the strain on the NHS with a minimum of 150 patients per day waiting to be discharged home with package of care. Whether it be 30mins a day or more. Enabling people to remain at home. How will you distinguish your company from your competitors? We will be focusing on Dementia/Parkinson’s and link in with Purple Angels offering a Memory Cafe for anyone suffering with memory problems. Not just for them but carers too.
