Occupational Health What is Occupational Health?
These are specialist nursing advisers concerned with the promotion of health and prevention of ill health in employees. It is about managing the effect of the work environment on health and the effect of health on work and where appropriate, advising on reasonable adjustments and adaptations to a person’s job or workplace to be considered by managers.
It is then up to your manager to consider this advice and decide whether it is practical or feasible to put these adjustments and adaptations in place.
A company may use an occupational health advisor if assistance is required: • to assist with an employee in returning back to work and consideration of any reasonable adaptations and adjustments • provision of independent advice to managers to assist with the management of sickness absence • to support the employee in the delivery of their work role
If you require this support or would like to speak to an Occupational Health Advisor please contact the SAIF Business Centre on 01279 726777 or email claire@saif.org.uk

HM Government’s Tell Us Once Service – New Video Slideshow
Over the last several months the ‘Tell Us Once Service’ has been designing a new short information video. Following testing and feedback, they are delighted to say that it has now been launched.
It explains simply and compassionately how the Tell Us Once service is there to help bereaved citizens inform many government organisations and public sector pension providers, just once, of a death.
The video slideshow is less than three minutes long and can be accessed by visiting https://www.youtube.com/ watch?reload=9&v=Xw0Ob59HFEY. They also hope to also add the link to the ‘What to do after someone dies’ page on GOV.UK https:// www.gov.uk/after-a-death in due course.
We have asked to pass on the possibility of the link being included on websites to support the profession and their clients which will hopefully increase awareness of the service.
If you require any marketing material these are available in the form of flyers and posters in English and Welsh versions. The flyers are also available in large print.
Please raise any requirements or share any feedback about the service with the Tell Us Once Communications Team at: tellusonce. communications@dwp.gov.uk
Remember to follow SAIF on Facebook and Twitter @nationalSAIF
