3C: CONNECTION COMPASSION CONTACT Erasmus+ KA1

This publication summarises dissemination activities carried out by the participants of the project "3C: Connection-Compasion-Contact" submitted under Erasmus + KA1.

The training course "3C: ConnectionCompassion-Contact"(2020-1-PL01KA105-079514) is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.

Bosna and Herzegovina MEETING IN THE ORGANIZATION

When did it happen?

I organized it with the kids in December, and with the high school pupils 9 times, from November 2021 to March 2022

Who took part in the meeting and how many people participated?

Kids 6 to 12 years old (24) High School Pupils 17-19 years old (16)

Feedbacks/comments/ future plans (from both you as a host and participants of the meeting) I would like to learn more and practice as much as possible.

Participants were satisfied and gave a loot of examples from everyday life (fights with parents, sisters and brothers, peers, public transport and traffic predominantly).

We arranged Intro to NVC for the members of Equestrian Club “

Čokorska Polja” in Banja Luka, “Arion” in Gradiška and

“Y” in Srbac.

We started “Scholl for Pregnant Women” with the Association “Radosnica” in Banja Luka, and all the members would be interested into learning about NVC. Association of Pediatricians of the Republika Srpska would also need to learn about NVC.

11 in total, November 2021 – March 2022

Who took part in the meetings, and how many people participated?

A group of 24 children 6-12 years old, gathered in the Association of Citizens “Srce pegaza” in Banja Luka, all participants were from Banja Luka (two sessions)

Introductory presentation involved 2 third grades of medical secondary school and 1 third grade of secondary scholl for informatics, 2 fourth grades of medical secondary school and 1 fourth grade of secondary school for informatics.

Introductory part was consisted of 6 meetings. Participants

came from several towns: Banja Luka, Lakta i, Gradi ka and Prnjavor.

The participants of the introductory part were asked if they were interested to continue, and 16 of them responded positively (12 female and 4 male).

Georgia MEETING IN THE ORGANIZATION When did it happen?

1.04.2022

Who took part in the meeting and how many people participated?

16 people participated. (there are 7 people in the picture, but 9 people didn’t have the will to be in the picture.

They

were the members of the organization, New Generation”, schoolchildren and students.

What was done? Which topics were tackled?

The topic of the meeting was about our experience in the Erasmus+ project how to build communication correctly, what is needed for NVC and the speakers (Mariana and Shio) have shared a method, that would help participants to analyze the situations from the step called Observation to the step Request. Participants have shared their experiences about identifying their emotions, and how they feel and act when something bad or good happens.

Feedback/comments/ future plans (from both you as a host and participants of the meeting) Participants have said that it was nice when they had a chance to share something about their feelings because in real life they are not able to express all their feelings and they just ignore them. As they have marked that when they use the method that I have shared with them, it’s easier to find out what’s your requests, what do you want them to do.

They have said that talking about emotions is pretty hard, but needful for our mental health. They have noticed that it’s really meaningful to be emphatic when communicating

Greece MEETING IN THE ORGANIZATION

When did it happen and who participated?

Having the experince of NVC training, I shared my experince with some of my collaugues and voulnteers who work in the Youth Support Center. It was not in the context of a meeting, but in my daily collaboration with them and interaction. I had all the material which was shared.

Basically, I promote the NVC as an pedagogical approach.

EMPATHY GROUPS

How many of them did you host, and when did it happen?

The project started in Januray with the assistance of a volunteer. The idea was to create a group of teenagers who will be encouraged to express themselves and will be empowered through the connection of the group. In many meeting of the group, the basic idea of NVC was included, especially the part with feelings and needs.

Who took part in the meetings, and how many people participated?

In the group, were participated refugee teenagers who live in Greece. Some of them re unaccompanied minors who they live in a shelter.

The number of participants is 11 teenagers.

The group still is in progress and many times we use material from NVC groups in order to implement activities.

Hungary MEETING IN THE ORGANIZATION + EMPATHY GROUPS How many of them did you host, and when did it happen?

We hosted 3 sessions: 12 December 2021 19 December 2021 30 January 2022 Who took part in the meetings, and how many people participated?

Youth workers from the NGO took part (trainees, mentors, the vice-president, project managers). We had 9, 5 and 8 participants on these sessions.

What was done – which topics were tackled?

Session 1 Our best option was to do our empathy group online on zoom. Almost every participant was in a different city or even in a different country. We started this session with prescencing why did they apply for the goup. The first session was all about needs and their difference compared to strategies. We briefly introduced them the concept, and gave them the list of needs. Then there were 3 exercises. The first one was about finding a recent arising need and talking about it in pairs, then talk about it in the big group.

MEETING IN THE ORGANIZATION + EMPATHY GROUPS

Than it was kind of a “strategy vs need” guessing that we played on the second day (I think). Finally we tried to reach for the emotions very briefly with storytelling. Then I (Gábor) did a very brief presentation about Marshall, and his story.

We closed the session with harvesting, and asking them for making a request regarding themselves, to make their next day more beautiful, to satisfy one of their needs. After all of this, we just continued in an even more informal discussion and sharing.

Session 2 This session was all about empathy. We did an active listening demo with Ábris. Then in the next exercise with supervision we did it with the participiants in pairs. After that we roleplayed the things we learned which are not empathic. At the end we played quite a few round of needs poker. Than we harvested.

Session 3 In our third session we introduced the NVC’s 4 steps. We broke down judgements and talked about jackal and giraffe language. We did a dyad about core needs that emerged from self-judgements. We harvested. And then we closed the block of 3 sessions.

Most of them expressed that they found the whole concept interesting and useful. One of the guys said that he offend others so often that he wants some new method to reduce these instances. He expressed that he found some new tools and thoughts that can support him.

We are still trying to translate NVC for hungarian and it is surprisingly hard since we learnt it in English.

Additionally, mostly we had a very good atmosphere, even online. These sessions were useful for us organizers to practice NVC and the preparations helped us emerge ourselves in NVC even more. The participants were happy tp learn about new ideas and they actively took part in discussions about the concept. We were surprised at the end of each session how many thing they “harvested”. It was especially surprising when some of the younger members (1718-year-olds) grasped some ideas very quickly and provided interesting thoughts for their peers, or proposed challenging questions.

In the future, we are planning to intergrate some NVC practice into our flagship project, the “mentoring program”.

At one point we discussed that “people don’t talk like this”.

And at the end, one participant added “unfortunately”. That was a magical and rewarding moment.

Practicing giraffe and hackal thinking, understanding anger, practicing the feelings structure.

North Macedonia MEETING IN THE ORGANIZATION

When did it happen?

It happened about 2 weeks after the TC (I have a post on Facebook on the page of CRD – SEE).

Who took part in the meeting and how many people participated?

4 people participated, all of whom youth workers.

Feedbacks/comments/ future plans (from both you as a host and participants of the meeting) Our participant was full of impressions (I am talking about Nadica because we didn’t meet with the other participant). She was very excited and was still working through her impressions and the experience she’d gone through at the TC. I have to say that she absolutely loved it and as she’s come on board as a project developer herself she’s using that knowledge she gained to create learning programmes for the proposals she’s developing.

As hosts, we are very interested in the topic of the project and we would like to implement similar activities for our youngsters at the local level or maybe in Erasmus+. We will not submit a proposal in this deadline because we need more research on the topic and to “get the feel” of our youths.

What we do know for sure is that the impression we have of your organisation is true and we look forward to future cooperation with you.

EMPATHY GROUPS

How many of them did you host, and when did it happen?

There were 2 groups, I mean 2 events where we had empathy groups. The first one was with 3 people and the second one with 5 people. (not everybody agreed to have their photos taken so they are not included.)

One of the groups happened in the first week of December, and the second one was at the end of January.

Who took part in the meetings, and how many people participated?

In the first one, 3 people took part. 2 of them are youth workers for an NGO in Ohrid, and one is a private business owner who employs people with mental impairments.

In the second session, 5 people took part. They are all members of CRD – SEE and they are of different profile. 2 are volunteers, one is a teacher and 2 are youth workers.

One person was present at both sessions, so I am not counting her in the second session at all.

Like I wrote in the previous question, some of the participants didn’t want their photos taken, so they are not included in the photos.

As hosts, we did have some challenges gathering the groups because of the Covid situation and their work/school responsibilities. The first session was a bit challenging also because we allowed for our participant to be the leading person and facilitate the group. We were there to support her and help the process. The second session was much better.

In terms of participants, they felt somewhat reluctant because they were asked to share some personal information during the sessions and not all did so willingly.

However, the positive aspect of the sessions is that they understood the point of communication with an open mind and tolerance. The general comments were positive and the majority of the participants would participate in other similar sessions.

Montenegro MEETING IN THE ORGANIZATION When did it happen?

February 19th , 2022

Who took part in the meeting and how many people participated?

There were seven participants of different ages.

What was done? Which topics were tackled?

The participants of the non-violent communication training in Poland, Aleksandra and Aleksandar, led the meeting. They explained what Erasmus+ is, why it’s important, who can apply and how. They also shared some resources for opportunities for young people. After that, they talked about their own experience and what the training in Poland meant for them. They also showed the reports from the training that had been posted on Mladiinfo Montenegro’s website.

We have decided to organise a few more meeting to go deeper into the topic and to share what they have learned.

The participants were interested to know more about Erasmus+ trainings so they were very active during the meeting.

EMPATHY GROUPS

We hosted 2 empathy groups, which happened on February 20th and 21st

Who took part in the meetings, and how many people participated?

We published an open call for participants and then chose the appropriate ones in order to have some variety in the groups. There were six people in both groups.

The participants were very interested and willing to participate. A few of them who had to miss the workshops even made a deal with us to explain them everything in another meeting.

Cyprus DISSEMINATION EVENT

The dissemination activity happen at 2 of april saturday in motiatis gathering, in collaboration with co-creative community group.30 + people on a circle we make a round of discussion about proplem solving technics. When everybody have the chance to speak , one of our facititarors Andreas Stylianoun implimented one activitie about releasing anger. We split the groups in couples with the intention to understand our needs and other needs,practice active listening with empathy attitude. After we gather the group again and we analyze the importance of the vocabulary that we use , and the clear communication. We are happy that we use NVC methodology in our events and We want to learn more and try new thinks that the can improve us and the people around us

Ukraine DISSEMINATION EVENTS

1. I started a presentation of NVC in the university.

2. After that was invited to university national psychological conference and did online master-class for more than 50 psychologists, teachers and students 3. We performed 2 trainings with Yana for youth as a part of our YMCA Y-style project (one in Kyiv, one in Lutsk) 15-20 participants per each training 4. I did 2 trainings for my close friends and relatives as a part of organisation call "Goodness". 10-15 participants per each training 5. Yana and I did training for Happiness club in Boyarka.

Almost 20 participants.

6. As a part of weekly English speaking club I am constantly using activities, metaphoric cards, cards with feelings and needs to learn more about ourselves and NVC. 7. Also I helped Ukrainian Academy of Leadership in preparing the project connected with NVC. We had 2 sessions where I provided all the knowledge, ideas and activities required for 2-weeks project for youth 8. Did short trainings for youth to understand their feelings and needs during the war and how to satisfy those needs.
