We are in this together Coming together in the face of COVID-19 2020 was truly a year like no other. The onset of the global pandemic has impacted us all in ways large and small. Life does not look like it did at the start of 2020, and no one knows that better than health care workers. When the coronavirus pandemic arrived on the Central Coast, our community, the hospital and caregivers responded in true Central Coast fashion—coming together in a way that has made us all even more grateful to call this special place home.
“We have been humbled by the outpouring of heartfelt gratitude and support that our community has shown our frontline caregivers and French Hospital during COVID-19.” —Alan Iftiniuk, President and CEO
French Hospital responded to the pandemic swiftly, ensuring that the necessary supplies and equipment were available to care for our patients and protect our staff. The Foundation, in turn, reached out to our community with requests for support. Our community responded with an outpouring of support for our frontline workers, donating medical supplies, meals and more. Since March 2020, over $360,000 in donations have been received, including personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, suits, goggles and more. Donated funds have supported the purchase of additional PPE and equipment, ensuring that French Hospital remains fully prepared to combat COVID-19.
