AQUATICS

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

PARENT TOT - ages 6 months to 3 years old are in the water with a parent while working on acclimating to being in the water.

KINDERSWIM - ages 3-5 years old. Kids will work on water acclimation without a parent. This is a beginning level class to work on skills with

STROKE SCHOOL - Stroke School is an advanced series of swim instruction for youth who are interested in stroke proficiency or swim teams.

Fall Session 1:

September 9th - October 18th

LEVEL I - ages 5+ basics with the as instructor.

LEVEL II - ages 5+ Work on coordination in the water and adding on the swimming basics with the swimmers becoming independent of the instructor.

LEVEL III - Swimmers have mastered all of the beginning skills independently and now work to swim distances and skills necessary for proper swimming form.

FAST SWIM TEAM - FAST is a competitive youth swim team with YMCA and USA Swimming dual affiliation. Practice is held year-round and the team is open to swimmers of all experience levels.

Youth develop hand-eye coordination and striking skills.

Nuts and Bolts

6-8 years old

Introductory instruction for basics of the game including forehands, backhands, serves and volleys.

Ready, React, Run. This level will also develop foot work, hand-eye coordination as well as simple game play ability.

Junior Pacesetters

Middle School - 12 and over

Advanced instruction covering all strokes for those wishing to be competitive.

Flag Football

Fall Flag Football program is for youth ages 5 through 6th grade, and focuses on teaching fundamentals, sportsmanship and teamwork through games and practices.

Youth Volleyball

YMCA Youth Volleyball for grades 1st through 6th offers an exciting opportunity for children to learn and enjoy the sport in a structured and supportive environment.

Little Tykes

This six-week program is perfect for parents looking to introduce their little ones to the fundamentals of multiple sports in a safe and supportive environment. Classes held Tuesdays from 6 pm - 7 pm.

Toddler Time at the Y offers a safe active play time for toddlers to come run, jump, and play on our fun equipment.

Pickleball

A dynamic paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong.

Youth Strength Training

Involves structured exercises designed to improve muscle strength, endurance, and overall physical fitness in children.

VAS – Vertical Agility Speed

VAS clinic offers a dynamic training program focused on Vertical, Agility, and Speed for young athletes.

Water Aerobics

A low-impact, full-body workout in the pool. Participants engage in various exercises and movements while partially submerged, benefiting from water resistance to improve strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness in a joint-friendly environment.

Group Fitness

Group fitness classes are included as part of your YMCA membership dues and are a fantastic way to mix up your exercise routines and meet new people!

BEFOREANDAFTERSCHOOLPROGRAM

YMCA Before/After School Friends Club

A structured program for kids in Kindergarten through middle school. Care is available from 6 am to 6 pm, when school is in session. The Y also offers Fundays, which are scheduled throughout the school year when Fremont schools are not in session, or if there is a snow day.

At FFYMCA for Bell Field, Bergan, Cedar Bluffs, Deer Pointe, Grant, Howard, JCAC, Linden, Milliken Park and Trinity Elementary Schools

PROGRAM INFORMATION: Students will be transported to and from their schools via the YMCA bus. The program includes a nutritional snack, recreational fun and games, homework help, and enrichment activities including arts, crafts and STEM projects.

Dates: August 19th - May 2025

Time: Monday through Friday mornings 6-8 a.m. and afternoons 3:20-6:00p.m.

Ages: Youth in Kindergarten and up - TITLE XX IS ACCEPTED.

Before and After School Care - Scribner/Snyder

PROGRAM INFORMATION: After school care will be offered to preschool students attending the afternoon session of preschool. There will be no care available during the school day. Scribner/Snyder youth who are enrolled in the Fremont Family YMCA’s After School Friends Club will receive care and supervision until they are picked up at the school by a parent or guardian by no later than 6 p.m.

Time: Monday through Friday, 3:30-6 p.m.

Ages: Youth in pre-kindergarten through middle school

Before/After School Friends Club - Arlington

Time: Monday through Friday, 6-8 a.m. (must have a minimum of six participants for mornings) and 3:20-6 p.m. Morning and afternoon session k l Arlington Public School.

Transportation Only - No Supervision is involved

Dates: During school months beginning August 19th

Time: Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons

Ages: For youth in 5th through 8th grades

Schools: Johnson Crossing Academic Center, FPS Middle School, Bergan or Trinity who need to be transported from the YMCA to their schools in the morning or brought back to the YMCA after school that afternoon.

Forever Fit

Low impact aerobics, stretching and the use of light hand weights. This class helps keep muscles and bones strong and increases the participant’s balance, coordination and range of motion.

Tai Chi

This class focuses on strengthening the central nervous system and stimulating the cerebal cortex. This helps the brain to rest and relieves certain nervous and mental disease. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.

Water Aerobics

Active Primetimers Potluck

Join us every month for a delightful potluck meal where everyone brings a dish to share. This event is open to anyone 55 years or older, and you don’t need to be a Y member to participate. Dates: Potluck held on the first Friday of each month

Senior Dinners

This exclusive event is designed just for seniors, featuring dinner, music, and plenty of fun. It's the perfect occasion to unwind, socialize, and create lasting memories with friends old and new.

Silver Sneakers

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activity of daily living.

PADRE NIÑO: de 6 meses a 3 años de edad están en el agua con uno de sus padres mientras trabajan para aclimatarse a estar en el agua.
