TEACHER FAVORITE THINGS Many of you have asked for a list of teacher “favorite things.” To make these accessible to you, we have combined these lists from all faculty and staff into one document and added it to Resource Documents in your RenWeb/FACTS family portal.

Scripps Spelling Bee Congratulations to the following spellers who have qualified for the 2023 FCS Spelling Bee: Grammar School 2nd grade – Benjamin Brittain and Henry Priefer 3rd grade – Grayson Hervey, Caleb So, and Gloria Steenman 4th grade – Annika Anderson and Charlie Kendrick 5th grade – Levi Dennis and Lilliana Pfeffer These spellers will compete in the Grammar School final Spelling Bee on December 8, 2023, after the 2nd quarter presentations. The winner of the school Spelling Bee qualifies for the Middle TN regional semifinals––a computerized test in which the top 50 scorers in the region qualify for the Middle TN Regional Spelling Bee, sponsored by the TN Titans in February or March 2024. The winner of the regional bee goes on to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC, in May 2024.

Lower Division 6th grade – Jeremiah Avila, Olivia Kendrick, and Fynn McCoy 7th grade – Michael Bender and Micah Parks 8th grade – Annabelle Hancock, Bella Hatfield, and Shelby Walls These spellers will compete in the LD final Spelling Bee in December (date TBD). From Mr. Hatcher Dear FCS Families: Thank you for your continued prayers. And thank you to those who have sent possible properties you have seen and those who have stopped to ask questions to see how things are going. We are a community of families and that is what makes our school so incredible. Here are ways you can pray for FCS this month: Pray for wisdom as we continue to investigate the possible options and are presented with potential new ones.

Pray for God’s wisdom for the members of the board and administration as we make decisions.

Pray for the person who will fill the Development Director position and help us move toward the new property.

Pray for God to show us the right next step.

FCS will continue to meet at our current location through next school year. We are grateful that God has continued to bless us with a location and look forward to how He will bring us to our permanent home. God is building our community each day and it is exciting to see what He is doing in our students!

The Junior Class and Parents Present a

CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT DECEMBER 9TH 4-8PM AT FCS

Parents, enjoy your night out Christmas shopping or spending time together and we’ll provide a night of Christmas fun for your kids!

FCS STUDENTS AND SIBLINGS ONLY AGES 3+ (must be potty trained) $40 for 1st child, $20 for each additional sibling.

Groups divided by age will go through stations including games, dinner, and crafts, and each child will receive a momento to take home!

Congratulations to the FCS Lower Division team of Lydia Jenkins, Sarah Kannankeril, and Shelby Walls, who recently competed in the Annual Battle Ground Academy Fall Linguistics Olympiad (BFLO 2023).

After winning the team silver medal last year, the girls won the gold medal this year! Working as a team on 10 puzzles, they accumulated 95 total points. That was more than the silver (55.9) and bronze (27.3) teams’ combined scores!

We are proud of you, Lydia, Sarah, and Shelby!
