Macramé is a form of textile that uses knotting techniques and has been popular throughout the decades and now it is back and as popular as ever! Participants will learn different knotting techniques and create a one-of-a-kind plant holder. Following the workshop, teens and families will be invited for complimentary admission to the exhibit A Beautiful Mess: Weavers and Knotters of the Vanguard in the Esther B. O’Keefe Building. Make Your Own Leather Journal Saturday, February 26, 2022 Presenter: IS Projects
Learn the basic principles of book binding while making a customized and unique soft cover leather travel journal. During this workshop, participants will learn how to prepare the paper and sew it to the leather cover to make a long lasting, sturdy travel journal. IS Projects is a South Florida public-access printmaking and book arts studio whose mission is to promote innovations and developments to print and book media by providing knowledge, training, and a supportive workspace for artists.

Bob Anstett is the Coordinator for Digital Initiatives for the Broward County Library, an expert in 3D Printing, creative design, hands-on maker projects, and robotics. He operates the Creation Station, manages other creative spaces in the library system, and provides outreach to other libraries in South Florida.
Garden Sketching Class
Saturday, April 9, 2022 Presenters: Connie Geisler, Ellen Kaufmann, Pam Williams Class participants will receive their own plant, learn the common name, botanical name, and the plant’s unique characteristics, followed by lessons on basic sketching techniques and drawing the plant while in the setting of the beautiful gardens at The Society of the Four Arts. Connie Wheeler Geisler, Ellen Fuller Kaufmann, and Pamela Williams are local artists and members of the Garden Club of Palm Beach, where they participate in the preservation of the demonstration gardens at The Four Arts.
