Supported by a £4 million Scottish Government investment through the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal
Forth Valley College’s new Skills Transition Centre (STC) represents a major investment in the region’s future workforce.
Part of the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal - a transformative collaboration between the UK and Scottish Governments, Falkirk Council, and local partners - the STC is set to drive innovation, upskill and reskill the local workforce, and contribute to more than 1,660 new jobs and £628 million in economic benefit over the duration of the 10-year project.
The STC has been awarded £4 million in Scottish Government funding through the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal and will support Scotland’s Just Transition by helping learners access sustainable employment in lower-carbon industries over the next decade.
Focusing on emerging sectors and transitioning industries, the STC is central

The STC will bring a range of new cutting-edge facilities and state-of-the-art technology to Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus.
Embedded across the campus, these will ensure learners gain practical, future-ready skills.
New facilities and equipment will include:
• Virtual & Augmented Reality Simulation
• Robotics
• Drones
• Bioreactor kits
• Interactive immersive room technologies
Training will be delivered through innovative new courses and enhanced programmes, developed in partnership with industry and the public sector. A wider skills development programme will run alongside the project, ensuring learners gain the practical and technical expertise needed to thrive in the evolving job market. The STC will also contribute to inclusive growth by enabling local engagement through outreach activities and the mobility of training equipmentbringing opportunities and emerging technologies directly into schools, communities, and partner organisations.

The STC is supported by the UK and Scottish Governments, Falkirk Council, and key industry leaders – all working together to support local talent, drive innovation, and accelerate the shift to a greener economy.
The STC has been awarded £4million in Scottish Government funding through the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal – a transformative investment programme designed to unlock economic potential across the region. The £80million Growth Deal is jointly funded from the UK and Scottish Governments and is complemented by a further £10million from the UK Government for future energy related projects in Grangemouth and £10million allocated to the Greener Grangemouth programme from the Scottish Government.
