She began her career in complementary medicine over 20 years ago at the Wat Po temple in Bangkok and later gained her Bachelor and Masters of Health Science from the University of Technology in Sydney and completed a hospital internship in Guangzhou, China. According to Jakinta, the coming year is an exciting time, as acupuncture and Chinese herbs will be nationally registered. This reflects the acceptance of Chinese medicine by the medical fraternity and the general public as an effective means of medical treatment.
