Why did you choose to build your dream home with Toscan Homes? I was studying Interior Design at the time and has since started my own business, Sapphire Living Interiors, so it was important for us to be able to have a wide range of choices and input in relation to the design of our home. We looked at a multitude of plans and display homes, before deciding to go with a custom plan and build. Friends of ours had also built with Toscan previously, and we were impressed with the quality of their build. How did you find the process? We were involved in the planning from the very beginning, including the layout, design and style of our home, and to see it come to life from scratch was very exciting. We loved making all the little decisions that make our house a home and unique. We were able to

V I B E S inspect the progress of our home regularly, and they were quite flexible in making any adaptions we made along the way. Were they able to cater to your budget, needs and requests? We went to Toscan with a “wish list” for the floor plan and design and design of our home. We will always have some of our own new projects to complete around the house in the future, but we do really feel like we got our dream home. Can you briefly tell us about your design and style of build? We love the Queenslander style homes and being so close to the beach, we wanted to channel a beach house style exterior with a Scandinavian influence throughout the interior. For the exterior we used a range of cladding, wide architraves, soft blues and white to create

that “Beach House” feel. Inside we used a lot of clean lines, natural timbers, stone, greys and white for a Scandinavian feel, but also introduced playful patterns in the herringbone and hexagonal tiles, beautiful textured lighting and internal cladding, keeping in line with the coastal feel of our home. What is your favourite feature of your new home? All of it! We love our open riser staircase and glass balustrading by Nick from Stairmaster, the James Hardie and Scyon cladding used both internally and externally, and our façade. We liaised with Toscan during the initial stages of our house plans, which were completed by Paul
Rollason to create a floor plan which is designed to suit the needs of our family both now and into the future. Why would you recommend Toscan Homes?
