Cam’s Kids – Setting and Respecting Boundaries

As part of our partnership with Cam’s Kids we are sharing mental health resources that can help you support those in your life experiencing anxiety.

Cam’s Kids is committed to supporting young people struggling with anxiety by creating awareness of common symptoms and assisting in early identification. One method of supporting those who suffer from anxiety is by respecting their boundaries. Boundaries are rules or guidelines that you set for yourself and the others in your life. By respecting these rules or guidelines set by others, we can offer our loved ones the support they need to grow and develop. It can be all too easy to overlook or trivialize the boundaries of others because their guidelines lack significance to us. But its crucial to understand that if they are important to your loved ones, then they should be important to you too. It’s about respect and understanding - reassuring them that it’s ok that they feel the way they do. You want to avoid judgement or imposing your own beliefs and instead respond with: • I understand why you feel that way. • Thank you for letting me know - I had no idea. • How can I better support you right now? We are all in this together, and when we support one another we all grow. So, let’s be kind to one another, and most importantly be kind to ourselves. This is just the tip of the iceberg on the advice Cam’s Kids offers to support better mental health. If you wish to read more, please visit www.camskids.com
