Custom Curved Flashings for Burrard Place

Submitted by Steven Stone

Designed by celebrated Vancouver architect, the late Bing Thom, Burrard Place with its dynamic curved curtain wall and architectural metal features is truly an icon of the largest mixed-use developments in downtown Vancouver.

When Flynn Vancouver was contracted to construct the curved flashings, they knew they were up to the task. We provided flat curved patterns for water jetting by working with our partners at TSC. Which left the necessary seams and edge work to our skilled fabrication team. In addition, our field crew used specialty equipment to apply the final curve to the fascia sections. Barry Hoyano (left) and Christian Stockley (right) have done excellent work installing these custom flashings within a tight work area and schedule without sacrificing the quality Flynn is known for.

Thank you to all who made this project possible including, Michael Elias, Anna Davydova, Andy Tsuno, Justin Edmiston, Rav Sandhu and Johnson Fong.
