OPEX OPEX Team Trains the Regina and Saskatoon Crews
Our OPEX team spent two weeks in the prairies training both our Regina and Saskatoon crews in a variety of roofing scopes.
Each branch received a five-day course, with each day dedicated to a different topic. These topics included: TPO, PVC, Mod. Bit. peel and stick, smartboard and EPDM. The OPEX trainers are not limited to these topics and the training is customizable depending on the needs of the branch.
“I just wanted to send a quick note of appreciation and thanks for the hands-on training with our field forces over the last two weeks. In speaking with the groups from both
Regina and Saskatoon, several of them stated it was some of the best training they have ever had!
Your expertise and approach with the team is very well received and all of them are looking forward to having you both back out this year on some of their projects.
Speaking from a management side, we are also very appreciative and impressed with how you provided feedback and share information, we had some great conversations.” —Sean Thompson, Saskatchewan Provincial Manager If you are looking to train the rookies in your crews, please reach out to OPEX@flynncompanies.com to arrange a visit.

Pedro Costa Wins 2021 TASK
The OPEX TASK program was created to promote the communication of good ideas within the company from branch to branch.
Every year the OPEX team selects an outstanding submission and showcases it to all of Flynn. This year we are recognizing Pedro Costa from the Hamilton branch for his innovative light weight membrane application tool. The tool is made from aluminum and allows for much easier membrane application along the parapet. TASK ideas don’t necessarily have to be field innovations, we are looking for ideas that increase the quality of any work we perform. If you have a TASK idea, please submit in on the Portal or on Flynncrew.com.

OPEX Travel Program: Moving Crews to Meet Demand
The OPEX travel program aims to move our crews from branch to branch to keep our projects moving and our crews working.
“Big shout out to the OPEX travel crews that have supported two large metal roof/siding projects here in the Atlantic Region. We have had multiple crews from the Prairie region as well as a St. John’s metals crew cycling in and out on both projects throughout the winter. Without the dedication and commitment to the OPEX Travel Program, managing project expectations would have posed many challenges. For that I would like to put a big east coast thank you to all those listed below and our local crews for their commitment and efforts on these projects.” —Eric Veniot, Atlantic Regional Vice President
