Welcome to our latest brochure.
We hope you’re enjoying the new format – the feedback you’ve given us has been fantastic.
The Floral could not exist without some amazing people behind the scenes, so over the next few brochures I’d like to introduce you to some of them! In this issue, meet our Marketing Manager, Julia.
Tell us a bit about your role It’s my job to make sure that as many people as possible know what’s happening at the Floral. I work with the team to work out how and where we’ll promote the shows.
What are you looking forward to?
It’s not long until Panto season, which is so much fun to work on! No matter how old you are, there’s something magical about the fairytale fantasy
world a pantomime creates – and lots of laughter too! I’ve made other picks through the brochure too.
What got you interested in theatre?
I grew up near London, so was lucky to be able to make regular theatre trips during my school years. When the opportunity at the Floral came along I was excited to work with such a range of different shows right on my doorstep. What advice for people looking to get into the industry?
You’d be surprised how many roles are needed to bring theatre to life. If you’re not sure what career would suit you, then see if you can get some work experience through your school or college to sample backstage life.
Join the Friends of the Floral Members Club today and enjoy a whole host of benefits.

The musical biopic tribute about the socalled 'quiet' Beatle is back following a hugely successful 2024 UK and Ireland tour.
All Things Must Pass, they say. Well, George Harrison’s name will live on forever. From the creators of Something About Simon – The Paul Simon Story, comes a show that answers the question “where does life take you after being in the greatest band in the history of the world?”
Starring West End actor and musician Daniel Taylor, Something About George tells the truly remarkable tale of one of music’s most understated icons.
Featuring a five-piece band performing beautiful songs such as My Sweet Lord, Something, Got My Mind Set On You and Handle With Care, the show includes incredible solo material and music from rock ’n’ roll’s greatest supergroup, The Travelling Wilburys – not forgetting more than a few Beatles’ classics along the way.
From heartbreak to hedonism and song writing to instant success, Something About George will show you a life that was anything but quiet.
What interests you most about George’s legacy?
The timeless quality of his songs. It’s also important to remember that we lost him when he was only 58. In that short time, he achieved so much: he formed arguably the first ever supergroup with the Traveling Wilburys, became a film producer, and produced The Life of Brian for his friend Eric Idle.
What’s been the biggest surprise you’ve found out?
I think how prolific he was as a songwriter. By 1965, he said he’d have needed a hundred Beatles albums just to release all the songs he’d written. Despite being 'the Quiet One,' he stood his ground with Lennon and McCartney, and the sheer amount he achieved after The Beatles is truly remarkable.
What are your top 3 songs?
Here Comes the Sun is just a beautiful song - and the most streamed track in the Beatles back catalogue. Something is very special. Frank Sinatra called it one of the greatest love songs of the past 20 years and even John and Paul were taken aback when they first heard it. For number three, it’s a toss-up between My Sweet Lord and While My Guitar Gently Weeps

From Seal to Frankie Goes to Hollywood, ABC to Yes, Grace Jones to Belle and Sebastian, and Robbie Williams to Pet Shop Boys, one man has been at the heart of some of Britain’s most important pop music of the past 50 years: Trevor Horn.
