Welcome to the summer season at the Floral Pavilion. As always, we have something for everyone, drama, music, comedy, and family events but this summer we are bringing you something new. We are always looking for new events, shows and performances to inspire, enliven and most importantly, entertain you and so we are happy to announce our Summer of Festival events.

Jazz on a Summers Day will return in July, after its successful launch last year. Offering a full day of music from some of the finest jazz musicians around, along with a variety of food and drink offers including BBQ on the Terrace. It’s the perfect way to spend a sunny summer’s day.

August will see us hosting a three-day Wirral Theatre Festival. The festival will showcase lots of new stories, nineteen in total, including family friendly and adult performances. The performers will include professional actors as well as new and

In September the Floral Pavilion will host a brandnew folk music festival – Folk on the Coast. Over three nights and two days you will be able to enjoy stunning performances from the very best in folk. We’ve announced the first wave of artists and they are a vibrant and eclectic mix of the best of traditional folk to tomorrow’s rising stars. As well as the world-class music performances, there will be many more activities to enjoy including workshops, exhibitions, fringe, and VIP events.

Middle Ground Theatre Company Ltd is delighted to present the World Stage Premiere of Dial M For Mayhem, a brand new charming farcical comedy drama from the author and director of the hugely successful courtroom phenomenon The Verdict.

Set in 1991, it follows of a group of travelling actors from south of the Scottish border as they conquer the beautiful unforgiving landscape of the Highlands and Islands village hall circuit to perform Frederick Knott’s classic 1950’s thriller Dial M For Murder.

Set against a backdrop of the unpredictable Scottish weather complete with internal company squabbling, the scene is gleefully set for back stage chaos and laugh-out loud hilarity of the play within the play!

This story by David Walliams has been adapted for the stage by The Birmingham Stage Company. Two of their previous two shows, Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy, received Olivier Award nominations!

The company also toured Demon Dentist in 2022-23 and another version of Awful Auntie in 2017-18. This brand new production of Awful Auntie has different actors and a brand new set.

When Stella sets off to visit London with her parents, she has no idea her life is in danger! When Stella wakes up three months later, only her Aunt Alberta can tell her what has happened. But not everything Alberta tells her turns out to be true and Stella quickly discovers she’s in for the fight of her life against her very own awful Auntie!

This is an exciting adventure story with a strong female heroine in Stella who, along with her friend Soot the ghost, must take on Aunt Alberta to prevent her wicked plan coming to fruition. The story also contains many moments of humour, as you would expect from David Walliams.

Awful Auntie was published as novel for children by HarperCollins in 2014. Unlike many of David’s other books, this has not been adapted for TV as yet so most of the audience won’t have seen these characters being performed by actors before.
