Prophetic Culture God’s heart revealed in OT - Numb 11:29 - But Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the LORD'S people were prophets, that the LORD would put His Spirit upon them!" God’s heart fulfilled in NT - Acts 2:15-18 (cf Joel 2:28-29)- 15 For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day; 16 but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: 17 ‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says, ‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams; 18 Even on My bondslaves, both men and women, I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit And they shall prophesy. Outpouring of Spirit at Pentecost was the practical expression of Calvary. - This was 1500 years in the making (from Moses). - Jesus went to Cross to be able to pour out His Spirit. Getting baptized in the Holy Spirit is God’s delight. - We should all want it (Acts 1:8). The church is God’s present day “prophetic nation.” - God does not bless any other “nation” or corporate body like the church. - I Peter 1:9 - 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; What does prophetic mean? - To express God’s purposes verbally, in action, and in lifestyle as we live our lives individually and corporately for Him. - Mt. 6:9-10 - 9 “Pray, then, in this way:‘ Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, - A prophetic church is God answering the Lord’s prayer.
