Savings Share (Savings) Accounts

A savings account is the first step on your way to financial success and a simple way to build your savings. Owning a savings account makes you a member and owner of FirstLight Federal Credit Union.

With a savings account you receive: • Dividends paid quarterly on average daily balances of over $I00 • Quarterly statements for your records (ordered electronically) • All of the great benefits of being a FirstLight member

Individual Retirement Account (IRA) An IRA is the perfect account to plan and invest for your retirement while giving you great tax advantages. This account is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration up to $250,000*.

Money Market Accounts

Looking for an account that gives you similar rates as a CD, but with the flexibility of a savings account? A Money Market Account is a savings account that pays a higher rate when you maintain a minimum daily balance of $2,500 or more. If your balance falls

below the $2,500, you will receive a lower dividend rate. (See rate sheet for current dividend rates). The benefits of a money market account include: • Dividends are paid monthly based on different balance tiers • Higher dividend rate paid on higher balances

Share Certificates

Looking for a flexible and guaranteed investment at a premium rate? Then our Share Certificates are here for you! With a minimum of $500, you can start saving with a high return on your deposit. Share Certificates are available in terms from 90 days to five years. (See rate sheet for current dividend rates).

Dream Builder Share Certificates

Our Dream Builder Share Certificates offer a higher interest rate than what you would get in a savings account; you can open one with a minimum of $5 and continue to make deposits throughout the term of the certificate. Dream Builder Share Certificates are available in terms of one to three years.

Youth and Young Adult Accounts Helping our youth and young adults prepare for their future by instilling good money management skills such as saving, budgeting, and credit use are the objectives of our youth and young adult account programs. We offer different accounts for youths from 0 to 24 years old.

Home Loans Home Loans

Your home means security and comfort for your family. It can also be the single largest investment you'll ever make. So whether you're buying your first or fifth home or refinancing to reduce your payments, talk to one of our mortgage loan officers to find out how we can get you started on your dream home loan today! We offer conventional, VA, and Special Assistance loans to fit your needs.

Conventional Mortgages

FirstLight provides conventional mortgage loans with flexible down payment options.

There are also options on the terms of the loan and rates may be fixed or adjustable.

We have loans available in 15, 20, and 30 year terms.

Veteran's Administration Mortgages

Qualified veterans may finance up to 100 percent of the home's purchase price, provided the amount does not exceed the veteran's eligibility requirements. The VA funding fee may be added to the loan amount and the seller may pay the veteran's closing cost and/or prepaid expenses. For our VA mortgages, we have loans available in 15 and 30 year terms.

Home Equity Loans and Lines of Credit

At FirstLight we have two loans that can take advantage of the equity in your home.

You can use these loans for many things

including home improvements, debt consolidation, college tuition, or even to finance your vacation. The maximum cumulative loan to value in Texas and New Mexico is 80%, based on the appraised value of the home. Home equity loans are fixed rate mortgages with the rate being fixed for the length of the loan. These loans are subject to respective state regulations and credit union policy.

Special Assistance Loans

We offer a variety of Special Assistance Loans for you or someone in your family.

We provide assistance for obtaining affordable housing loan opportunities for low income families. Speak to one of our Mortgage Representatives for more information or to see if you qualify for one of these Special Assistance Loans.
