On 27 April, Bel Burnell Molyneux ran the 2025 London Marathon, raising crucial funds for The Fine & Country Foundation. A dedicated volunteer for the past 5 years, Molyneux describes herself as The Foundation’s “accidental marathon spokesperson”, driven by her rewarding experience supporting its mission.
The Foundation fights homelessness and poverty by providing grants to independent charities across the UK and internationally. Molyneux’s challenge comes as the organisation aims to build upon its incredible milestone of raising over £1 million since its founding in 2014.
Highlighting The Foundation’s efficiency, Molyneux notes that 99.98% of donations are granted directly to those facing hardship. She notes that the money she has raised in support of The Foundation will go towards its next £1 million goal, ensuring every contribution makes a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable people.

Jersey may be small in size, but it’s brimming with dramatic coastlines, fascinating history, lush countryside and gourmet delights. Michaela Black offers five reasons to visit this intriguing island.
Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands, offers a unique blend of British charm and continental flair, partly due to its history and partly due to its geographical location. Jersey sits in the Bay of St Malo, just 85 miles south of the English coast, but the British Overseas Protectorate is in fact even closer to France, just 14 miles away.
While Jersey only covers an area of nine by five miles, as islands often do, it punches well above its weight. It is dotted with honey-hued castles, sweeping beaches, winding country lanes and a unique Franco-British culture, not to mention some of the best ciders around and fresh, abundant seafood. What’s not to love? Here are five reasons to hop to Jersey for a summer break.
1. Explore the coastline on foot Jersey’s coast is nothing short of spectacular, with rugged cliffs, golden beaches, and hidden coves waiting to be explored. Head to St. Ouen’s Bay on the west coast for a sweeping stretch of sand that’s popular with surfers, beachcombers and walkers, but is also a spectacular sunset spot, with the Atlantic Ocean providing a cinematic backdrop as the sun sinks into the water. There is also a fantastic walk that starts here and includes iconic views of the Channel Islands with views to Guernsey, Sark and northern France, as well as the caves of Plémont and Grève de Lecq, before finishing at Devil’s Hole.
For a more challenging, multi-day walk, the Jersey Coast Path is a rather magnificent 50-mile circular coastal walk that sits mostly within the Jersey National Park. The route can be walked in four days using the capital, St Helier, as a base.
There are plenty of alternative walks and sights, including a seabed walk to Icho or Seymour Towers, two islets off the southeast coast of Jersey with defence towers that were erected in the 18th century following France’s attempt to invade Jersey. They can only be reached for a few hours every day when the tide is low enough.
On the southwestern coast, an unusual sight to behold is the bioluminescence at La Rocque. The best way to see this incredible natural phenomenon is to escape the light by walking 200 metres or so away from La Roque Harbour on the beach at low tide on a moonless night. Gently sweep the surface sand away with your feet and look for the glow.
2. Visit Mont Orgueil Castle
Overlooking the harbour of Gorey on the east coast, Mont Orgueil Castle is one of Jersey’s most iconic landmarks. This medieval fortress has stood guard over the island for more than 800 years and offers a fascinating glimpse into Jersey’s military history. Climb its towers, explore
hidden staircases and enjoy panoramic views of the French coast on a clear day. The castle also hosts exhibitions, art installations and family-friendly events throughout the year.
3. Experience the island’s wartime history
Jersey’s role during the Second World War is a significant part of its identity. The island was occupied by German forces from 1940 to 1945, and reminders of this period remain throughout the landscape. A visit to the Jersey War Tunnels is a must. This underground complex, originally built as a hospital by the Germans, now houses an immersive museum that brings the occupation era to life through personal stories, artefacts and multimedia exhibits.
For more insight, stop by the Hohlgangsanlage bunkers, explore the Battery Lothringen gun emplacements or walk the Liberation Trail to learn more about how Jersey has been shaped by its wartime past.
4. Visit Elizabeth Castle
Built on a tidal island in St Aubin’s Bay, Elizabeth Castle has kept watch over the island for centuries. When the tide is high, you can reach it on an amphibious vehicle. At low tide, it’s also reachable on foot across a stone causeway. If you’ve ever wanted to see a cannon fired, now’s your chance. The castle has a living history programme that sees the Master Gunner fire the signal gun and flintlock musket as part of the daily Midday Parade.
5. Savour the seafood
Thanks to its fertile land and clean coastal waters, Jersey is known for its fresh local produce. To learn more about
its shellfish, consider heading out with Jersey Walk Adventures on an Oyster Trail Walk. You’ll stroll through the most extensive oyster beds in the British Isles, hear about the modern cultivation of shellfish in Jersey and learn about the history of the oyster fishery, a huge local industry in the 19th century. Afterwards, you can sample fresh Jersey oysters at Seymour Inn.
There are plenty of places in Jersey to find fresh seafood –it is, after all, an island. A good place to start is Faulkner Fisheries, a rustic restaurant set in a converted German bunker at L’Etacq. Here, you’ll dine on freshly cooked seafood, with local Jersey Royal potatoes and homemade Jersey garlic butter. If you’re after something with a little more panache, the island’s finest is Mark Jordan at the Beach, the only restaurant in the Channel Islands with a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Don’t miss La Mare Wine Estate either, where you can sample local wines, spirits and handmade chocolate on a tour of the vineyards and distillery.n
If you’d like a slice of Channel Island life, here are some stunning properties to consider.

A breathtaking view is one of the most valuable assets a space can offer, but the magic happens when the interior responds to the view. Kirsty Fisher from Lemon and Lime Interiors gives us her top tips for designing interiors that embrace and elevate views.
Designing with the view in mind isn’t about grand gestures, it’s about subtle, intentional choices that create harmony between inside and out. Here are some things to take into consideration to maximise a panoramic view.
Let the light lead
Natural light is the first and often most transformative design tool at your disposal. Before choosing a sofa, colour scheme or curtain fabric, consider how the light travels through your space over the course of a day. Where does the sun rise and set? Which areas are bathed in that golden hour glow?
Once you understand your light, position furniture to optimise it. For example, place a breakfast nook where morning sun filters in or a reading chair in a spot that catches soft afternoon rays. Orient key pieces like beds, bathtubs or desks towards the view so daily routines are enhanced by nature.
Low-profile furnishings
Views, especially panoramic ones, need breathing space. To avoid obstructing sightlines, opt for lowprofile, sculptural furnishings that let the eye travel freely. Modular seating with clean lines, coffee tables on slender legs or streamlined benches offer function without distraction.
In dining or living areas with expansive windows, skip tall-backed chairs or towering bookcases near the glass. Instead, explore built-in cabinetry below sill height, open shelving or even transparent furniture – using materials like glass or acrylic – that preserves the openness.
Mirrors: the view multiplier
Mirrors are one of the simplest yet most effective ways to enhance a view. When placed thoughtfully, they bounce light, expand spatial perception and, most importantly, double the visual impact of what’s outside.
Consider what the mirror will reflect and avoid reflecting anything too busy or cluttered indoors, as it can compete with the tranquillity of nature.
Position mirrors on adjacent walls to windows to extend the view deeper into the room. A floor-to-ceiling mirror in a hallway, for instance, can visually extend a garden beyond its boundary. In smaller spaces, even a modest mirror panel can introduce a refreshing sense of openness.
Bring the outside in
One of the most satisfying ways to celebrate a view is to echo its essence in your décor. Think tactile materials,
glass.
If your home overlooks forest or countryside, lean into natural textures – timber, wool, raw stone and handmade ceramics. For urban settings, incorporate industrial finishes, like matt metals, polished concrete or structured textiles to reflect the rhythm of the cityscape. Plants are an especially powerful tool. A cluster of potted greenery near a window can create visual continuity with an outdoor garden.
Keep the palette in harmony
One of the most elegant ways to integrate a view is through colour continuity. Borrow tones from your surroundings to create a seamless visual transition between inside and out. A house nestled in the hills might use warm terracotta, olive greens and deep ochres to reflect the landscape. A beachfront apartment could channel driftwood greys, aqua blues and sun-washed whites. This approach not only enhances visual flow but also evokes a feeling of belonging, with the interior becoming an extension of the natural world.
Frame it like art
Finally, think of the view as a living artwork, a dynamic focal point that shifts with the seasons and weather. As with any artwork, it deserves to be framed with care. This may involve architectural changes, like expanding or repositioning windows, or interior styling that subtly draws the eye outward.

Golf is undergoing a renaissance, becoming younger, more dynamic and more inclusive than ever before. Sandra Ruttle from European Tour Destinations talks 2025 trends.
As we move through 2025, the sport of golf is seeing unprecedented growth, driven largely by a new generation of players and a shifting cultural mindset that positions golf as both a leisure pursuit and a wellness activity. Here are some of the key trends European Tour Destinations sees shaping the game this year.
A surge in youthful enthusiasm
The biggest headline in golf circles at the moment is the boom in participation among 18 to 34-year-olds. Young adults, previously underrepresented in the sport, are now embracing golf, not just for its physical benefits but also for its ability to promote mental wellness and provide a digital detox – time out from the hectic nature of everyday life. In an increasingly fast-paced and screen-centric world, golf offers a blend of physical activity, mental challenge and connection with the outdoors.
For many, the golf course has become a sanctuary – a place to unplug, overcome personal challenges and enjoy time outdoors, either solo or with friends. This new wave of players is transforming how the sport is viewed and consumed, driving a need for more inclusive, flexible and engaging golf experiences.
Rethinking membership models
A significant shift being driven partly by the adoption of the sport by a younger cohort is around club membership. As green fees rise, many are beginning to see membership as a cost-effective way to play more regularly and maximise value for money. The new golfing generation, however, is less interested in the rigid structures of traditional memberships.
Clubs increasing their memberships tend to be those that are offering flexible tiered membership options. From intermediate flexi-plans that cater to occasional players to full memberships for avid golfers, choice is everything. The more tailored the offering, the broader the club’s appeal.
Clubs that embrace these flexible models are tapping into a growing demographic that is looking for affordable ways to be involved in the sport.
The rise of practice spaces
As tee times become harder to book due to surging demand, golfers are placing greater emphasis on practice facilities. No longer seen as just a warm-up area, driving ranges and short-game practice zones are being reimagined as essential parts of the modern golf experience. Golfers of all ages are placing more value on solo practice time as beneficial in honing their skills
Many clubs are responding by investing in state-of-theart practice areas. Laguna Resort Singapore, for example, features a floodlit 50-bay driving range, including 20
Toptracer hitting bays equipped with innovative shot data and game technology. Whether it’s the installation of techenhanced bays with ball-tracking systems or tranquil putting greens designed for solo mindfulness sessions, these facilities are key to attracting members who value improvement as much as actual play.
Golf resorts in emerging destinations
Another interesting shift is the rising popularity of golf resorts in emerging global destinations. As the middle classes expand in countries like India and some of the Southeast Asian nations, the golfing audience grows, as does the appetite for golf property.
The newest resorts in these regions, like Saujana Golf Resort in Malaysia, are going beyond the traditional golf holiday model. Think beautifully landscaped courses with wellness facilities, boutique retail outlets, restaurants and diverse property options – all within a secure, self-contained environment.
Sustainable golf tourism
In an era where sustainability is a baseline expectation, the golfing world is embracing eco-conscious practices. From using recycled water and natural fertilisers to preserving local biodiversity and reducing carbon footprints, golf resorts and clubs are embedding environmental considerations into their DNA.
Camiral Golf & Wellness in Spain, for example, installed a 900m2 photovoltaic power station with 316 solar panels mounted on Hotel Camiral’s roof, which enables the resort
to generate 210,772 kW of green energy to power both the hotel and Wellness Centre. Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort in France was awarded a Gold Label as part of the Golf for Biodiversity programme, one of only two golf courses in France to receive this honour. The resort has introduced multiple measures to encourage biodiversity, including a research and development programme to monitor the population and create habitats for bats. It has developed buildings to create shelters for bats that can be seen by guests on the resort’s biodiversity trail.
Sustainability isn’t just about the planet – it’s also about people. Community engagement is becoming a central pillar of golf’s new philosophy, with venues prioritising local hiring, community partnerships, and charitable partnerships and initiatives, such as London Golf Club’s support of the Teenage Cancer Trust. The club selected the Teenage Cancer Trust as its official charity, with members and staff supporting the charity over 12 months through a range of activations, including a charity golf day.
This shift also ties into the growing importance of personal service. As people seek more meaningful connections and battle digital fatigue, the human touch has never been more important. Sporting clubs can play an important role in reducing isolation and providing time and space for wellbeing.
The tech-enhanced tee-off Finally, just as technology is affecting almost all aspects of our everyday lives, so too is it changing the game of golf. From AI-powered coaching tools and smart sensors that track swing metrics to apps that manage tee times, food orders and performance statistics, golf in 2025 is fast becoming a high-tech affair. One of the most exciting
developments is the evolution of golf simulators, which have become powerful training tools that blend traditional golf with virtual technology, providing additional appeal for younger players.
LED technology is also extending tee times, with players now able to enjoy rounds well after sunset, transforming courses into nighttime playgrounds. The appeal is obvious: it’s cooler, often quieter, and adds a unique twist to the game. Even golf buggies are evolving. Today’s high-end models come equipped with surround-sound speakers, built-in GPS and smartphone charging ports. The buggy is no longer only transport – it’s part of the experience.
As clubs, resorts and developers continue to innovate, one thing is clear: the future of golf isn’t just bright – it’s brilliantly balanced between tradition and transformation. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a curious beginner, there’s never been a better time to pick up a club and be part of golf’s next chapter. n

Spread across two floors, the property is designed with both comfort and style in mind. The main level features three tastefully appointed bedrooms, two of which enjoy those
coveted ocean vistas. The third bedroom serves as the ideal children’s retreat, complete with its own enclosed shower and bathtub. Ascending to the upper level, the luxe living continues with four more bedrooms, including two grand master suites. These retreats offer private outdoor patios that create peaceful havens for relaxation and reflection, enhanced by the soothing swirl of the sea breeze.
The heart of the home is the kitchen, a contemporary space that balances elegance and function. Outfitted with stateof-the-art appliances and gleaming quartz countertops, it caters for both everyday cooking and gourmet entertaining. Surrounded by lush gardens and framed by the silhouettes of palm trees, this outdoor area is the pinnacle of tropical indulgence. Every detail has been considered, from the Sonos multi-zone audio system providing sound throughout, to the robust Ubiquiti Wi-Fi network ensuring high-speed connectivity wherever you are in the home.
Crafted for longevity as well as luxury, the property features copper guttering and resilient three-quarter-inch cedar shingles on the roof – choices that speak to the quality craftsmanship evident throughout the villa. Additional features include a two-car garage, buggy bay and a small private gym, rounding out a home that caters for every contemporary need.
Royal Westmoreland itself is a magnet for discerning homeowners and investors. Beyond its championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the resort offers facilities for tennis, padel tennis and the increasingly popular sport of pickleball. The well-equipped gym, spa services and clubhouse dining facilities are just a short walk
