“The house was built in 2011 so it was relatively new when we came here in 2016, and it was all very nice, but my husband and I are in the construction business so we could see that the developers hadn’t realised its true potential. We proceeded to strip it right back to the bare bones, we redid the electrics, the plumbing, upped the insulation, rejigged the layout, added a ground-floor extension and then refurbished it from top to bottom.
