I have had the pleasure of seeing Briar Cottage evolve from the build stage into the tasteful, contemporary home that it now is. “Five years ago we built Briar Cottage, we designed it to be contemporary whilst still retaining a degree of the traditional and cosiness. It is a large four bedroom house, all bedrooms being very good sizes. Although our family had all flown the nest we still wanted a property large enough to accommodate the Christmas and holiday family gatherings. The larger bedrooms and 3 bathrooms allow plenty of room for the whole family. We wanted the house to be eco- friendly, economical to run and also with plenty of light. We feel we have achieved this. The garden is a comfortable size and although it is full of plants it has been designed to be reasonably low maintenance with chipped bark preventing weeds etc. There is a very pretty small hexagonal greenhouse just big enough for growing a few tomatoes and other salad plants. A small garden to the side of the house has raised vegetable planters and fruit bushes. We have loved living in Briar Cottage and in Howsham which is a lovely friendly village with lots of social get-togethers throughout the year. We are sure the new owners will be as happy as we have been and enjoy this lovely comfortable home.

STEP OUTSIDE

The property is approached from a porous tarmac drive which is owned by the property allowing access to the neighbouring property before it opens to the private block paved reception parking area to the front of the property. The block paved parking area also accesses the integrated double garage which benefits from twin remote controlled electric roller shutter doors.A lawned garden is arranged to the side of the driveway and a gate opens into the side and rear garden.
