WILD LINES: DIVERSE VOICES & EXPRESSIVE ARTISTRY CONVERGE

The Corowa Art Space is proud to host its third annual exhibition from The Art Factory studio, ‘Wild Lines: Michael Beeson & Paul Turriff’. This free and captivating exhibition is presented in conjunction with International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), promoting conversation about disability and fostering a more inclusive community. The exhibition highlights two distinctive artists whose work shares a commonality in its bold use of colour and expressive lines, drawing inspiration from the home environment. The Corowa Art Space welcomes the community to experience this vibrant and expressive exhibition and engage with the vital message of inclusion throughout the holiday season. Currently on exhibition until Saturday 10 January, visitors can explore the exhibition between Tuesday to Friday, 9:30am -4:30pm and on Saturdays 10am - 2pm. Find out more on Council’s website.

DISABILITY MONTH

Today, we highlight International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD)!

Held annually on December 3rd, this day celebrates the contributions of people with disabilities and promotes their rights and well-being. The UN Theme for 2025 is “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.” This is a powerful call to action: we must ensure people with disabilities are at the centre of all decisionmaking that affects them. How can you make a difference today and every day?

• Keep footpaths clear of vegetation (crucial for mobility access!).

• Seek better understanding and actively support people with disabilities you know.

• Get involved at the community level, perhaps by joining the Federation Disability Access and Inclusion Committee. Find out more from Council’s website.
