FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
For the year ended 30 June 2025
As per Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act.
In accordance with Section 418(3) of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), Federation Council advises that the February Council meeting will include the presentation of the audited Financial Statements and the Auditor’s Reports for the year ending 30 June 2025. A summary of the Financial Statements is provided below.
DEVELOPMENT CONSENTS
Public notice is given pursuant to Section 101 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, that the Council has granted development consent in respect of the following developments. The consents are available for public inspection by contacting Council during business hours.

In accordance with Section 420 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), any person may make a submission in writing to Council with respect to the Council’s Audited Financial Statements or the Auditor’s Reports. Submissions on the financial statements will be received in writing until 5pm Tuesday 24 February 2026. The Audited Financial Statements and the Auditor’s Reports may be inspected on the Council’s website or copies may be viewed in person at the following Council offices up till 5pm Wednesday 18 February 2026:

2026 LIBRARY STORYTIME
Federation Council invites parents and carers to Storytime sessions at the Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala Libraries.
• Mulwala - 1st Wednesday of the month, 10:30am commencing 4 February.
• Corowa - Every Friday, 10:30am, commencing 6 February.
• Howlong - 1st Friday, 10:30am commencing 6 February. Children and their parents/carers can participate in FREE story time sessions that involve sharing stories, rhymes and themed activities. Storytime sessions are suitable for ages 0-5 years and run for 30-45 minutes. Join in the fun, meet new people, introduce your child to a world of books and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of reading.

THE FIRST 72 HOURS
Federation Council and Berrigan Shire Council have teamed up to bring a vital emergency preparedness toolkit directly to your front door. Every household in our regions should have now received a physical toolkit featuring the acclaimed ‘72-Hour’ campaign materials. This includes:
• A paper-copy emergency plan template.
• Guides on packing an ‘Emergency Go-Bag.’
• Tips for managing utilities and communication when networks go down.
The first three days of an emergency are the most critical. This initiative is designed to ensure our community doesn’t just survive, but thrives, during an unexpected emergency event.

SANGER STREET COROWA DISABILITY PARKING TIME LIMITS
Under the NSW Mobility Parking Scheme, vehicles displaying a valid Mobility Parking Permit (MPP) are legally entitled to park for an unlimited duration in any space that has a time limit exceeding 30 minutes (i.e., 1P or greater). Each disability parking space on Sanger Street is currently signed with a 1P (1-hour) time limit. MPP holders can park in the designated disabled bays on Sanger Street without a time restriction.

Local Orders - Unsafe and Unhealthy Premises Policy
At Council’s December ordinary meeting it endorsed the draft Local Orders - Unsafe and Unhealthy Premises Policy for public exhibition for a period of 28 days from Tuesday 6 January to Wednesday 4 February, 2026. The purpose of this policy is to provide a clear, fair, and consistent framework for Federation Council staff and the public. It outlines how Council responds to community requests about private land that may be in an unsafe or unhealthy condition. Council is inviting residents to review the draft policy and provide any feedback by 5pm, Wednesday 4 February, 2026. The draft document is available for viewing on Council’s website or at any Council office. Anyone interested in providing feedback should do so in writing, addressed to the General Manager, PO Box 77, Corowa NSW 2646 or email to council@ federationcouncil.nsw.gov.au

COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM NOW OPEN
Federation Council is excited to announce that the 2025/2026 Community Grants Program is now open. This initiative empowers local groups to develop ideas, projects, and events that contribute to the vibrancy and connectivity of the Federation Council community. Key Details:
• Maximum Grant: Up to $5,000 per applicant.
• Who Can Apply: Not-for-profit community groups, organisations, and clubs.
• Applications close: Monday 16 March, 2026. Applications must be submitted via an online form, available from Council’s website. We strongly encourage all potential applicants to download and review the Guidelines document to ensure your project and initiatives are eligible for funding.

EOI COROWA SKATEPARK MURAL AND YOUTH WORKSHOPS
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are being sought from artists to lead Youth Workshops and paint a Mural on the Corowa Skatepark shelter sheds and toilet block. The Federation Primary Prevention Team (FPPT) and Federation Council are looking for a creative team to bring vibrant new life to the Corowa Skate Park. This isn’t just about painting; it’s about young people. The successful artist will lead two engagement workshops with local youth:
1. A co-design session to develop the mural concept. 2. A hands-on workshop where participants customize their own skate decks.

LIVE LIFE IN COLOUR: THE 2026 FEDERATION AGEING WELL FESTIVAL
Council invites our fabulous older residents to celebrate the journey and the adventures to come at the 2026 Federation Ageing Well Festival. A bumper mix of events running throughout March across the Council area. Part of the state-wide NSW Seniors Festival (2–15 March 2026), the festival is our chance to celebrate the incredible role and contributions older adults have in our local communities. This year’s theme, Live Life in Colour, encourages everyone to embrace creativity, spark new connections, and enjoy an active lifestyle.
