Für das neue Haus der Architektur haben Studierenden eine Fassade entworfen und die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Textilbeton für filigrane Fassadenbauteile erprobt. Das modulare System aus geschosshohen Verschattungselementen, die sich dem Sonnenstand bzw. den Nutzeranforderungen entsprechend schwenken lassen, formt ein grafisch bewegtes Fassadenbild mit großer räumlicher Tiefe und skulpturaler Kraft. Als konstruktiv unabhängiges System nach dem Prinzip eines Baugerüsts konzipiert, lassen sich die Segel an bestehenden Fassaden mit unzureichendem Sonnenschutz errichten und verleihen diesen ein neues, prägnantes Gesicht. Trotz der roh belassenen Oberflächen wirken sie leicht und elegant und spielen so subtil mit der gängigen Vorstellung von massivem, schwerem Beton.

Students designed a façade for the new Haus der Architektur (House of Architecture) and tested the application of textile concrete for filigree façade components. The modular system of storey-high shading elements, which can be swivelled according to the position of the sun or user needs, forms a graphically moving façade image with great spatial depth and sculptural power. Designed as a structurally independent system based on the principle of scaffolding, the sails can be erected on existing façades with insufficient sun protection and give them a new, striking appearance. Despite their raw surfaces, they appear light and elegant and thus subtly play with the common assumption of solid, heavy concrete.
